Gran Turismo 5 |OT| an Ode to the Automobile

Out of all the games I'd ever pre-order, I have yet to pre-order GT5.

Is it still possible? Most games have more than enough stock at launch, but this is GT5 so I'm a bit concerned.

To sum up the videos: Suzuka looks very nice in the rain. Data logger looks amazing, there's a load button so hopefully you can compare to ghosts.

Nascar pit stops allow change tire types, how much fuel. Pit stop seemed pretty slow, but I don't watch Nascar.

I remember some people speculating that we wouldnt see those pit crew animations in game at all.

The cable connectors are the same in USB 1.1 and USB 2.0. The quality of the cable may have to be slightly better for high-speed 480Mb/s USB2, but I doubt that's the case with a steering wheel.

But really, how "good" is an update if you put it at the FOOT of your article. It should be at the TOP of your article, especially if it's something as big as this (where your article is basically headlining for hits). Still pretty shoddy.
 
about the game install.. the guy who said it took 10 min to do the "Pre-Install Main Game Data" .. he just checked the file 6.461 is the size of the file..

but he also mentioned he played the game yesterday .. without installing it. So maybe it intsalled some parts of the game yesterday, because of that it only took 10 min. now.. but he doesn´t know for sure..

lol, a massive 6.4 gig?, I install every game to my 360 which is also optional and around the same size, talk about sensationalism.

Ah fuck, the guy that runs shopto also said that GT5 has a fuck ton of pre-orders, far past COD Black Ops so there is in all likelihood a lot of people in front of me. :(:(:(:(:(

Hmm... so is there any truth to this 10gb install? Where did we get that 10gb number?

The game installs certain parts as you play, so some of it was likely installed based on his play time the day before.

after the "Pre-Install Main Game Data" is done.. the game will install small parts to your harddrive when you are playing. So it will eventually end up around 10Gb.

I think the max 10 GIG will happen has you progress through the game. Sort of install as you go.

Or Kaz just made sure he didn't underestimate.
 
I have lots of space on my 250GB HDD.. only have alot of free PS+ shit and some beta´s filling it up.. movies and music do not belong on my PS3..
 
talk of massive game installs always humours me, since i've got playtv and an outrageous install of 6 gigabytes is like, three episodes of the big bang theory and the end of a movie i was falling asleep in

Is that a 'GAME' Store, or a store that sells Games? Stupid question maybe, but i've got a friend who works in Gamestation (GAME Group Companies) and he said there is even a Embargo on staff buying GT5 until next week?

Well, I've just quickly made an order from them.

I hope it arrives tomorrow! However that seems unlikely...

I understand this.. BUT again this can´t be right. If he chose not to install, and just play (with the mandatory 256mb install), then the game shouldn´t install anything..?

but again I do not know what option he choose yesterday..

It was not long ago, he said how COD Black Ops has lots of pre-orders but GT5 was really shining, at least something along those lines. Not saying it's going to outsell Black Ops, that is impossible to say the least but for that one website the GT5 pre-orders are very big. I've already paid fully for my copy on shopto however only pre-ordered a few days ago so there are obviously a lot of people in front of me. :(

most likely they'll be spending today and the weekend bagging them up, and then ship them out first class on Monday. So you'll hopefully get it Tuesday.

If I don't receive anything tomorrow then I may as well cancel the order and stick with my Amazon GT5 CE.

The earliest I would receive it would be on Tuesday in both cases.

That does start an interesting question though. We know the 6.5GB part is optional, but it's obviously not giving you an option for the remaining ~3.5GB, it's doing that on its own. I wonder if the 3.5GB "as you play" install is mandatory? If so, it should state it on the back of the box, right?
