Well I only had a quick look, amazon UK. You could always recommend somewhere cheper, I wouldn't be offended
You can't order the G25 from Amazon as it has been replaced with the G27. If you want the G25 you'll have to try and find a used one.

The DFGT is 85 quid and the G27 is 349...

Edit: wtf is this email tag?

Just raced against the Mark IV GT40. That standard fucker sounded angrier than Satan's dogs that I bought at his yard sale.
What do you mean by 'standard fucker'? It's premium, confirmed (was in some promo shots).

£80 will get you a DFGT, Don't think anyone is mad enough to sell the G25/7 for that much.

Ah right sweet, I'll hunt for a G25 then. Is the DFGT no good?

The DFGT is just fine. If this would be your first wheel purchase then it might not be a bad choice to start with.

It is a great decision IMO.

It is pure RPG - you can't fight Cactuar in Corel Desert without having appropriate Materia and XP Lv. It is pure & beautiful old-school and 100% based on GT philosophy-principles.

I know that many will find it flawed, wrong and such, but hey - it is simple:

You want full physics, full damage and so on? No problem. You just need to progress into the game.
Besides, it will make a greatest handbrake an all potential flood of damage-only videos I was really worried to see all over the internet. If damage was enabled from the start, all you would see on YouTube with "GT5" tag would be "Enzo Crahfest", "F40 wrecked", "Murcielago Crashing ZOMG" and so on. This design-decision will just make it rare - and that is good.

Even from business perspective - I can see that all principals (manufacturers) that gives licenses to use cars to PD will praise such decision in long terms, thus allowing them to use more cars and everything in the future.

Above all things that are exectued in unique and perfect manner of GT heritage, this one stands out the most in my book.

It's a huge flaw IMO if the physics changes during the game and if there is no possibility to use full physics from the start.
It means you have to relearn how to drive/handle a car several times.
So there is no possibility to try a car with full physics at the start of the game ?

Thanks, that's good news, don't think the Mrs would have been too impressed with me spending £150 odd on a wheel

You can start playing with all assists off.

What reveals itself progressively is damage, IA and better cars. The more you play, the better it gets.

So amar's info that you need to progress into the game if you want to use full physics is not correct ?

My copy of GT5 CE is STILL Dispatching Soon, 9 hours after it first said so. Arrghh! I'm not panicking. I will remain calm. Amazon have only let me down once...maybe twice..errr..

Does the game inform you about all of this or do you simply realize it by yourself as you progress?

Has anyone else playing noticed the added subtle shake of the camera in while in cockpit cam? It looks...off. I know they were attempting to add an extra sense of speed, but it almost looks like a technical miscue.

YAY! My copy has arrived, can't be bothered to do all that CEX business so will give the game a whirl when I get back home later today. This game is so gonna be worth £35. :P

So, does the damage level be applied to the whole game? If I'm level 40, do I then get level 40 damage and AI in arcade mode, with no option to return to the easier setting?

It informs you when you unlock special events or X driving shcool, kart, nascar etc... but it never tells you "the game just got harder".
That being said, most of the races at level 0 are against Daihatsus on a bright sunny day, so, it's kind of obvious what's going on.:lol

I think is more like features unlock as you reach certain milestones.

What exactly do you mean by full physics?

Amar said in post 6931 in this thread that you need to progress into the game
if you want to use full physics.
I'm not sure what he means, but physics usually means general car handling,
An example of physics is how car handles when driving on the limit in a corner.
So if the physics changes, you probably have to drive differently in corners when driving as fast as possible.

damage. pretty much.

You can unlock new events by raising your level and by getting the car needed for these events. So you always know what your next objective is. You also know IA will get better each time you reach a new level. It seems the only thing you really discover without warning is the damage part.

Ok online guys.. some more feedback please..?

- Can you reverse and crash into cars, or does it turn invisible?

- Can you race the wrong way or what happens..?

- Is there damage in online..? like this Nascar video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubStREJXaa0

- What tracks have visual effects on them?

- How many people can join a lobby..?

- Is there Youtube upload ANYWHERE online..?

thanks..

- the car turns into a ghost, so no problem with people going reverse
- if you try and take shortcuts you get time penalties, like 10 seconds
- there is damage online, by the end of the race my car was wrecked
- only played a few tracks but we did race on the highway track by night, and rain began falling after a few minutes
- 16 people, I think
- I haven't seen it but didn't really look for it either. Doubt it though...

THANK you very much for your post.. ! Good work..

16 people seems strange.. I thought 32 people could join in lobbies.. ?
Youtube upload would have been nice.. but not something I will use anyway, COD:BLOPS has it, but I haven´t even used it yet (I haven´t even got a Youtube account)..

But he mentions both full physics and full damage in that post, so physics is probably
not the same as damage.
Maybe it's easier to PM him and ask him about this.

Best Buy (UK) selling this for £29.99 / £47.99. Was going to wait until the new year to pick it up (no time to play it), but I figure that £47.99 for the CE is pretty good.

Now watch as someone tells me there's a discount code. =/

What about first corner smashes? Do they do low speed ghosts as well?

Can you turn damage off when setting up a lobby?

Thinking of picking up the G27 for this but I got a couple of qestions that I'm hoping GAF can help me with.

1. First of all, the wheel doesnt support the 360 is that right?

2.I'm thinking of the G27 over the DFGT mainly because of the paddle shifters so how do those feel?

3. Is it possible to use a DS3 to navigate the menus and switch seamlessly and hassle free to the wheel when entering a race?

4. Any overall impressions? It's a lot of money for a peripheral so I'm giving it some serious thought.

1) There are literally like two wheels that work for 360, because MS is a bunch of money hogging whores.

Fanatec Porsche wheel (which is like 400 bucks) and the 360 wheel, which is no longer sold/supported by MS.

2) Paddles are great, but the inclusion of clutch and h-shifter is better

3) Yes

4) Lots of reviews online, I personally don't own a G27, but it's a step up from the G25 (which is no longer sold).

Anyone know a way of installing all the game data? It did the 8GB install but it's still installing stuff, so I'd like to get it all over and done with.
