Beneath a video screen slogan which read: "Today is not the finale. Today is only the beginning of a new era for Gran Turismo," the series creator insisted that his team's work on the project was far from complete.

5 year rush job confirmed /sarcasm

Looks like the game is not the only thing thats broken. The GT-R die cast model has one of its wheels fallen off inside the package box, and I couldnt believe it when I flipped open the package :lol

Oh well, installation just finished right now. HERE WE GO!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

OK, so after a couple hours I’ve done some Kart racing, some arcade mode, completed B-licence test and the top gear first challenge (eff that thing, seriously. hate this VW busses. so slow and boring - at least give us an old Honda civic…). I’m almost level 5

what’s bugging me now is the screwed up loading time to get back to the GT life page. I was in Special menu. I back out… wait 30 FUCKING SECONDS then back to GT life.

crazy.

then I go to practice. then I go back to GT life without even playing a race.

30 FUCKING SECONDS.

then back to the GT life menu.

I mean this shit is fucking ridiculous.

anyway, Kart racing is fun and I want to go back there and play some more asap.

and, maybe I’m nuts, but it seems easier for me to control some cars with all assists off than in GT5:P with the same level of assists. I’m basing this off of high speed ring, mainly. I’m using a wheel.

anyway, time to get into A-spec racing and then some photo travel mode before I head out for dinner.

Sony should just tell PD to start building assets for the PS4 in order to try to have GT6 ready for the launch. While they do that they can continue updating GT5.

According to Kaz the full LOD on the cars are already PS4 assets.

:O

Just checked my car and it's in one piece. :)

So far I am loving the shit out of this game. The only things I dont like are some of the loading times and how some of the cars get all pixelated in a track where it's raining. The standard cars and tracks look fine to me too. <3 GT 5 :D

This hour install fucking sucks. If you have to change PS3's... man...

*goes to make a sandwich or five... or fifty...*

"Confirm"? That was never mentioned. Ever.

Bullshit. Kaz talked about it during the development of GT4 or whatever, but it never happened. Doubtful it's happening here.

So glad they added the standard cars. They might not be up to premium standards (by looks) but damn are they fun to race around in. You hardly notice the lower detail when racing anyway, in fact I mostly have to look for the darkened windows to be able to tell which is which. :lol

Just out of interest, who's playing on regular controller and who has a wheel? Trying to build a mini statistical snapshot.

I've got a G25 here.

Also, I can't say enough about how great the feedback is in this game. I'm always 100% aware of what the car is doing. Amar's section on feedback and physics earlier definitely wasn't an exaggeration.

I don't know the answer but did they take out the demonstrations (with jay leno voice over in GT-PSP) of the license tests?

Nope, they're still there and actually really helpful. You can also get tips in some of the Special Events (like the AMG Academy).

.

There's one thing I realized today is that the cars feel heavy. You can feel their weight while driving with a wheel. I'm pretty sure coming back to another racing game now will feel unrealistic for a moment.

Speaking of V/O's, who's the girl who does the narrating after completing the license tests in the UK version? I recoginse it.

I actually consumed a whole meal during the installation. Really.

Anyway, the game is really good. There's so much stuff to do.
It's a mixed bag graphically. Sometimes it's the best looking game ever, and sometimes the graphics are average.

But the game itself is very stellar. Worth the wait.

What's wrong with you? Don't tell me you bought the game to actually play it instead of just looking at it!!!

Newbies need to use that Skid Assist Recovery option or whatever it is called, it is really like NFS then, you storm through the laps...

In GT5P it was really hard to control RWD cars, it is better now... there is also an option on realistic skids on track ends/rain...

With few of those options on, anyone can play GT5... GT5P was a struggle for a lot of my friends playing few laps in my place.

The thing i find the strangest is how inconsistent the level system seems to be. The licenses and Aspec give you so little and the special events are very east and give too much.

Special events can get hard! I have yet to pass the Lotus one (shame on me...).

Vicki Butler Henderson did voice over work for GT4P. So it could be her. I haven't hear any female voice over in the US version. Just the guy that does the voice overs for the tip videos.

They are special events so that makes sense.

see, that’s the odd thing. I have every assist turned off including the skid recovery force. so it should be like pro physics in prologue. or tougher, based on impressions I was reading.

anyway, maybe it’ll take a few super fast cars to get me to suck and lose control like in prologue

And not only that, but you can really feel their weight transfer as you're going through the corners too.

Loving the game so far, but I'm getting weird clicks and pops in the music, sounds like when an MP3 has encoding issues. My surround says its in DTS 5.1 right now but the glitches persist (not constant, semi-random)... any thoughts?

Is there any ghost/transparancy/HUD options anywhere?

The ghosts are really messing me up in license runs.

L3 is usually turn ghost on/off.

IDK though I don't have the game yet! WHERE ARE YOU FedEx dude????

Have you set the wheel controls to pro? Also try one of the RUFs if you wanna get raped.

I made two sandwiches, 12 minutes left my ass. *reads APEX guide*

I think my install took 30 minutes. I dozed off while waiting for it and when I woke up it was finishing.

I wonder why some people's installs took over an hour based on what they reported? I wonder if there is some disk defragmentation that goes on and if you don't have a 10GB chunk readily available for the install if it has to move stuff around?

Old fragmented HDD's or dying Bluray drive? :(
