Damn that is a long time. Have read that one guy with a slim+500GB 7200 HDD did it in 23 minutes but most seem to be over the hour.
My PS3 is a UK 80GB from a couple of years ago.

I gotta tell you, after reading these threads I was starting to worry, "could it be?".
The moment I jumped into the first race... HAHA :lol Seriously! The game is SO MUCH better looking then Prologue. All my worries jumped out the window in the first 5 seconds! I used the Flicker reduction option, haven't tried it without it yet, but the jaggies are MUCH less apparent then they were in Prologue. The ONLY thing that stood out for me was the shadow popin on some trees, but after a while I didn't even notice it, and the driving! Oh man! SO GOOD! And to fall in love with a track I made in just a few minutes, JESUS!
I can already tell i'm going for the ride of my life!

The moment Song 2 from Blur kicked in in my Toscana tarmac created track, coming out of a elevated corner to a huge straight with the sun set lighting over the side of the windshield, HOLYSHIT!

It truly is a RPG with cars, complete with the skill versus grinding (=upgrades). This game is not for those that want to race a Zonda on the Ring at day one - it's the gradual build-up that will hook you. I've played many other games and sims, but the complete GT package is what makes the game shine.

Does anyone elses game have a Turkish/something setting on the menu? Seems kinda weird to have those 2 separated. Does that mean it only has those 2 languages (+English)?

This is fantastic news as the Special Events are one of the best additions in the series history.

Ok, played this for about 6 hours today. Straight. While I have a few issues with some of the menu stuff, that wouldn't have even been a problem if the load times didn't suck so damn much. Even with an 8 gig install.
That out of the way, the game is so damn fun, there's so much to do, and such a variety with the inclusion of special events, all those issues fly right out the window. I've been a bit disappointed with a lot of racing games that have come out recently, but GT5 finally hits that sweet spot for me.
And am I imagining things or is the AI a lot more aggressive in this one? Several times, mostly in the Kart racing, I've been in the lead and some AI bastard comes from behind and spins me out. And it's even happened in a regular event as well.
Speaking of Kart racing, I was surprised how fun it was. I don't care for the Nascar stuff, and I haven't really warmed up to the Rally races either, but Kart racing is damn FUN.
Worth the wait. I'm happy. The small graphical hiccups don't mean squat to me. The game excels where it counts, in the racing.

The RPG comparison really is quite apt, it's addictive to upgrade your car and the collect them all mentality in regards to the cars has finally hit me. Great game

1.I noticed the G25 isn't listed in the wheel section, what are you guys using for config?
2. If you turn off some of the aids do you get more experience/cash for races?
3. How/when does head tracking work?
4. Can you use tickets for anything other than the car/kart that's on it? (it asks if you're sure you want to use it for 'this item') like you can use it for something else and you only get a limited number of tickets or something

Hate, hate, hate NASCAR. How do you win that second NASCAR challenge thing? Do you just stick with the red car and draft to the front? I don't get it.
Otherwise, loving the game so far. I've had a few niggles, but nothing worth losing sleep over.
Also, when you win a car ticket, does it give you a random colour? My Kart was pink :lol

Anyone else with a g25/g27 feel like the rotation is way off?

Fuck, my driver still sucks with the Swift. Only taken second by blind luck so far. I can tell him to overtake but the AI seems to cockblock his advances. :| "PACE UP" on Autumn Ring doesn't seem to do much given it's corners, but I'm scared "PACE DOWN" will slow him down and everyone will overtake him. I can't seem to catch up and overtake the first place for gold and this is level 0 Sunday Cup.
Maybe I'm not destined to micromanage a driver and just slam everyone out of my way for the gold. :lol

:lolFuck me this game has blindsided me. I dont drive in RL and have had no previous interest in racing sims (including previous GTs) but GT5 is flat out amazing. The RPG structure is perfect for me. The game all came together for me on the grand tour special events. My only problem now is that I really want to get a wheel now to play it again.
