AT, I drive manual in real live but doing it in real races is just too much for me. I have to concentrate on the driving itself. :lol

Nah she's lovely, I just have a history of being irresponsible with the monies. Still, it's a one off purchase.

As for the stopping distance thing, make sure you're braking at the absolute earliest moment possible

Full gas to 60MPH, then full regular brake until stopped got me gold.

See, (if the patch of Dec 1st is true) told you all that if performance patches for MAG could be released so could done for GT.

The only issue is, reviewers don't review for the game is going to be but what they have. Personally, I feel reviews should be updated after a few patches and by the sounds of one for GT5 it's a major one.

I am having an extremely annoying problem with my fanatec wheel.

When engaging the clutch to shift, If you don't also take your foot completely off the gas, the car shifts into neutral instead of the gear you're trying to go into, and gets stuck there until you go back to your original gear. Even if the clutch is fully engaged the whole time.

That is completely unrealistic and is really hurting my times since I can't shift aggressively at all. It's sad because the actual clutch implementation is fantastic and the car physics are glorious.

Is this a fanatec only thing or are people with Logitech wheels experiencing the same thing?

An update for gargantuan simulation racer Gran Turismo 5 will be released on Saturday 27th November, creator Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed to Eurogamer.

"We received a lot of demands for having more regulations placed on the online play. We're going to perform an update on the 27th that will include things like max power restrictions and weight restrictions," Yamauchi said.

"It's like a living creature, dynamically growing as we speak."

According to Yamauchi, the update will "refine the usability of the game to make it a better experience.

Well, just put GT5 in my PS3 (Yes, a day late, sorry!) and already a hefty 1.01 update although I'm sure you guys already know about that.

Anyway, I have my DFGT at the ready and frankly, all the interface issues in the world doesn't matter as long as the game uses the wheel properly and the driving is as good as people say it is.

Not really. Forza's career mode is better because you don't need to do stupid license tests to get cars/better stuff.

However, GT5's exp progression system has pretty much killed this mode, thank god. It still sucks I had to Gold this stupid mode for the trophies associated with them. :|

My only worry is that after numerous patches when the game overcomes the complaints of the current reviews with ease to become one of the most loved games by the community, outsiders who will still look to buy the game would look at the obsolete reviews (such as the from IGN) and trolls are never going to let go of the scores either and draw comparison with its competitors' scores.

All in all how can one be prevented from being misled by an outdated reviews?

I just got behind the red car, then shot around him to the inside and then positioned myself behind the 3rd car. You'll catch up to the front runners towards the very end, and then pass the 3rd and 2nd cars. I very nearly got gold on that one, i was running side by side with the Dale Jr. car but he beats me. Beats me every time. Which is complete bullshit, Dale Jr never wins! GT5 most unrealistic game of all time confirmed

Anyway, for those using a wheel here, is it possible to use a wheel for racing and the controller for navigating the menus? It doesn't seem to work for mine and it's quite a pain to use the dpad on the shifter to navigate the menus.

don't you just guess where to brake (wtf break!?) and note mentally where you are on the track. If you're too late you do it a bit earlier next time. Bit early, do it later.
