Finally at level 20! For those of you that are further along than that, how frugal should I be right about now? I mean, that Mclaren F1 looks nice right about now, or how about both the F1 and that new one? :lol

Time to buy a Diahatsu Copen!!!! some 65 raging horsepowers hooked up to the front wheels! A folding roof... that will never go down! A 650cc engine revving to a face meltin 4500 RPM!
I wanted a premium car, what can I say?
I went the Autozam AZ-1. For my first GT5 car I wanted a mid-engined Japanese supercar with gullwing doors, and it had to be premium. The AZ-1 was the only thing that satisfied those criteria.
Well it's super to me :)

It's 600cc's of raw Japanese fury. Seriously though, I had such a blast sliding that thing around Autumn Ring - love that little car :D

Nice setup, how long did it take you to receive the wheel stand pro... ? And did you order it from the US website ?
I ordered on the original website and then the owner, Sebastian Bik ask me if I wanted to change my order to the US distributor so it would be faster.

I placed my order on 5/8/10. Sebastian, the owner, emailed me that he would ship on 5/11, Tuesday and asked me if I wanted to cancel with him and order from the US distributor 'cause it would be faster. I agreed. He cancel and I for whatever reason I didn't get the money back to my paypal account until 5/12, 4 days after so I ordered again from the US distributor on 5/12. I asked Sebastian if he would have the US distributor to upgrade my shipping to next day as a courtesy for the delay and he laughed at me. The order with the US distributor was shipped on the same day, 5/12 and I got it on 5/17.

Now I ordered an upgrade for the MS stand to Logitech stand last week from Sebastian, once the US distributor does not sell upgrades. Sebastian emailed me that he would ship it on Wednesday, today. It was not shipped. Let's how long 'till I get this order.

Hopefully I can keep up with this guy.
Holy. Crap.

Edit: I find it funny, now that I've been stuck to GT5 for the past week, that I was able to follow exactly where he was on the Nurburgring track the entire time.. :lol

And another small question, can ghost replays be turned off on the license tests?

Holy hell just fully upgraded the stealth amg and man this car is beyond awesome it corners like it is on rails.

Yeah the SLS in general is just a fantastic car.

It really earned its place as the cover car. I love it. :D

Oh yeah, one other thing...

Licenses with all gold:

A, B, IC, IB, S.

All that's left is 6 more tests in IA and then it's the License Gold Club for me. :D

I played the Ring on GT4 a bunch of times before actually taking to it IRL. :lol

PD really needs to look at the AI variation between dirt and snow rally courses. I spent an hour just trying to bronze expert dirt, and using the same car I'm about to gold expert snow first try with probably more than a minute lead (knock on wood). I just did a complex special stage getting at least 5 collision penalties and even having to reverse out of two crashes, and still ended up more than 10 seconds up. Mucking up a dirt course that badly would've put me half a minute behind, at least.

This C4 WRC '08 competitor car is the same as the one that whupped my ass soundly in the dirt section, too. Fix this shit!

edit: Also, ffs, when there's only one main background element, ie. these snowy rock mounds, how hard can it be to make them not pop in distractingly?

Anyone know how to win the GT By Citroen Race Car? Aside from the Zonda R, the 787B Stealth model (damn download code...) and the X1, it's my most sort after vehicle.

Yeah I noticed the same thing in Beginner and Intermediate. I haven't tried Expert yet, but the dirt stages always had the toughest AI.

The game seemed to glance over 250-350hp cars in career mode. There is a pretty big jump in performance from lowered cars to super cars. I wish there were more G35, Impreza WRX STI. Lancer Evo class races before you reach the 400+ hp stuff.

This is a really good point and I hadn't noticed. I wondered why my garage, with its Lamborghini and Ferraris didn't have my beloved Impreza. I remember always checking the Subaru dealer every time I was looking for a specific car, wondering which of the Impreza's I'd buy, balancing cost vs tunability vs model (I prefer the slightly older ones, its a shame my '03 isn't a premium).

But I never bought one, and now I realise why. I don't have a Lancer either. Of course I'll eventually buy both as part of my collection, but thats not the point.

There is a trophy for a Lancer Vs Impreza race but there isn't actually such a race, so do you have to create one? How do you even do that - practice mode and fingers crossed?

So I threw a bunch of parts at a Charger 440 and created a 575hp beast that accelerates like a thing possessed but only goes 115mph before maxing out (a speed reached in a very short time hehe).

What tweak/part do I need to adjust or buy to increase the top speed of this monster?
.

I had this with my Dodge Ram. Threw money at it but was still topping out at 140mph on the Daytona oval, and I'm sure it had a 5th gear that it never managed to get to. Really frustrating. I bought a 6 speed close ratio gearbox which actually made it slower! (don't know why). I refused to buy a fully custom gearbox on principle. I'm not buying my first ever fully custom gearbox for a truck I only bought for two races and will never use again. Only reason I haven't sold it is I'm guessing there is a trophy for 100 cars in your garage.

For telegraphing the turns, it was. But there was no way in hell I was going without some assistance with my friend as the map reader just in case. Running the ring was mentally draining but so much fun. :lol

And yeah, that dude is straight awesome.

BTW the Sound of the

is AWESOME

Sigh....I'm miles away. My B-Spec driver is level 3 lol...
I feel you on that one...think I'm level 10 in b-spec. I can't tear myself from A spec though; love driving my freaking cars.
In other news, I'll be buying a damn Viper ACR and maxing it out. That video just sold me on it. Was thinking of getting one anyways though, just cause its a viper.

It's amazing what better tires can do for your car...

I bought sporting soft and my laptime dropped 6(!) seconds in just one lap in the first try. The car was just utterly transformed.

I have been cheap by not buying better tires but no more, I am now a firm believer.

+ GT5 is very very good.
- The main "career mode" seems pretty small, has too many single track events and manufacturer races are nowhere to be seen.

Yeah, more events for mid spec cars, now!!!

Yesterday was going to be games-free day for me until someone posted the flying cars pics here. Then I spent two hours trying to recreate that track. Damn you gaf!

I golded the individual sectors in AMG academy 2, but the complete lap in 7:05 seems like a HUGE task. Especially with the fucking traffic on the track.

Struggling with Nascar challenges, the one where you have to drive on the outside (intermediate challenge 4 I think). I dunno why but I can't get a good time.

Turn all assists off and just keep a real smooth angle. No screeching or squeaking of the tyres. Just glide through.

Try turning off ABS. I don't know if it helps much on that challenge in particular, but it is hugely helpful in the later nascar challenges.

If you are not fast enough you will catch the traffic at the worst places to pass, which slows you down even more.

I passed gold with three mistakes that cost me about 1 or 2 seconds. Still finished with 7:04.995 lol

You have to pass the first publicity board above the track at the beginning of the long straight with at most 6:20s

I finally just realized the different music that's played for either a Premium or Standard car when you receive one. :lol

You just finally noticed this now?
