Damn... $500 for a wheel seems like a bit too much. If I were rich I would probably get it, get the separate shifter, a real car seat, maybe part of a car dashboard, and contract someone to build something kickass for me. But as of right now, all I can do is play with the Dual Shock.. :( Hopefully I can get a wheel by Christmas.

yeah... I know I spent a lot for the fanatec but I really think it offers better value than this thrustmaster setup.

for 350 bucks you get amazing aluminum clubsport pedals and a super smooth and quiet, leather GT3 wheel that has great force feedback. the wheelstand is another 130 so for the same price as the thrustmaster you get the much needed stand included with fanatec.

and if you ditch the clubsports, then you're looking at something around the G27 price range with the shifter included.

this wheel / pedal combo needs to be something truly out of this world to justify such a price premium over the logitech and fanatec offerings.

1080 rotation? They adding semi trucks to GT5? Why would you ever need a wheel to turn that far in a racing game? The 900 rotation is only ever used to avoid physical steering lock. You don't need to hand over hand a car when racing unless you have spun. Seems like a moot talking point. Digging the pedals. I have thought about mounting my G27 pedals like that.

Kaz, I have said it before, you best sort out the G25/27 issues before going all tween girl at a Beiber concert on the new wheel.

I like the realistic pivot placement on the pedals. Some people have modded their G25/G27 pedals to work like that.
Depends on the car. Lots of race cars have pedals like the game wheels. Mounted to the floor, not "hanging".

Newb question - how do you get Race-Modified cars?

Is it just going to GT Auto and converting a Premium car into a race car for a lot of money?

Oh, didn't know that. Now I can like my G27 pedals more :p

You can adjust the pedals both ways, though:

I just got started with B-Spec and.. is there any way to fast-forward the races? I guess no, but sometimes when your racer is driving a pretty powerful car (when compared to everybody else's) the races are pretty boring... :/

Be careful, because sometimes your driver thinks the same and he'll get bored, slow down and be overtaken on the final lap(s).

Leunam has a question for GT5GAF:

Is there any interest in a classic car (before 80's) GAF championship?

I would be interested for sure, but I can't seem to wrap my head around the online. I don't do much online gaming if you can't tell! :lol

Yup...

I had to tell the fool to wake up and speed the fuck up! :lol

After trying like an hour, I finally got silver from S-8 Suzuka... I was so goddamn close to the first racer but didn't try sacrificing my place for the 100000th time and pussied out on the chicane. Goddamn I hate that track

hopefully thrustmaster will have cheaper version like DFGT, thats a lot of money to spend. Also 1080 degree rotation is good, 3 turns to lock, right? It is more realistic for a lot of cars out there that are above 2.5 turns to lock.

So the lounge music in this game is fantastic, but so far this track might be my favorite.

I don't like how the piano, jazz, and laid back tunes are restricted to menu or slideshow (what is this?) music by default and all you get in the races are mediocre rock songs. I had to manually add the race option to everything, so I can groove to some Lang Lang while driving. I set Burnout Paradise to play only classical music, too.

Also, for the next patch, can we please have the Justice song stop looping forever while online?

Suzuka is awesome. :(

Too bad I don't have a car that can take the 130r flat out.

Technically there's an unlimited amount of it with the course creator.

This gives me an idea...

Thanks again Dead Man. Is anyone interested in a Classic Car Championship? I help organize the F1 2010 league so I have some experience with online championships.

You know what, I haven't even looked at that yet. I guess I mean more organised events though. But still awesome that course creator opens infinite options in terms of courses

I read a book or play other games while B-Spec is running.

Is the Skid Recovery Force just controlling your car to keep it straight or does it give your car fake physics? I tried turning it on for a rally race and the car controls on dirt and snow like it's on tarmac. I can't get a time anywhere near the same when I turn SRF off.

Current trophy situation : Gold x 36 , Silver x 24, Bronze x 0

Yay, those last golds will be hell though

Edit: HAHAHAH I was looking throught the main menu to check if Course Maker was still there (and it was, why were people saying it didn't exist yet few pages back?) and Zombie Jeff Gordon appeared on the screen and I screamed out loud

creep

It's on in a lot of the license tests. It's horrible. I think it basically slows your car down to the point that grip is maintained.

Which car is everyone using for the B-Spec American Muscle race? I won gold on the first event, but can't seem to get higher than third at Laguna Seca. I've tried the classic Corvette convertible, '62 special, and the Cobra.

I used a pretty maxed out 69 Camaro, took Barry a few goes though.

59-1-0 right now.

Going home to gold the shit out of S-8 tonight. Maybe I'll dive into MP more tonight but I need to earn some coin and raise my b-spec level.

Got to Level 20 finally last night, Took 4 hours of grinding.

Has anyone noticed the Suzuki pikes peak for sale yet? I need to know how much to save up.

lionelhutz said:
Damn, I was hoping not to buy another car. I'm saving for the Lambo challenge. Do you remember what level you were?
Can't remember, sorry. I don't think the Camaro is any better than the Corvette though, maybe just level your guy a bit?

I'll do that. He has to win it eventually. He should have the best car in the field.

I think the one conclusion that we can all agree on after the release of GT5 is that PD needs to hire about 75% more people for their team. They don't need more time, they need more people, preferably a western project manager and UI designer.

Luckily the racing is ungodly and that is all I care about.

I agree 100% with this post.

I exactly what they need, and that´s it.

They nailed the feeling of driving like nobody else, but they have some "game related stuff" problems and six months a car is just insane.

They need more people. They don´t need to scale down their work, just have more people on the project.

Sony needs to step up and give PD it´s Ryan Payton along with 50-60 more people to work exclusevely on car moddeling.
