Soo goood

Oh, like you could in PGR3 and 4!

And GT4

That's probably all the news we're going to be getting until GamesCom then. Everyone's just reporting the same stuff.

Although it is alarming that last year, Sony chose not to stream their GamesCom event. They better had do this year :P

I'm really shocked about the day/night cycle. I always thought that part of the reason why GT's lighting looked so good is because they prebake it. But if they're doing day/night cycles then that can't be the case.

Oh my god, we will not know the tidbits until gamescom... it just never ends, does it?

And, why only 9 Nascar cars? We've seen more than 10 different modles on screenshots, so why?

The reports are almost identical, they even use the same words. Everybody says interiors, and nobody used the word cockpit. I mean, they are all going by what translator san said, which means that probably it was just a presentation, no Q&A, hence the many doubts still in place.

Freudian slip? :P

Anyway, didn't sony really stream their last gamescom? I sure remember watching it, perhaps it wasn't live. :O

That sounds truly amazing, especially on endurance events were it feels more natural when the race is drawn out.

Can't wait to get home and watch the shit out of some new videos.

Has there been a confirmed car list yet?

Or at the very least, anyone know if the 2003-2005 Dodge SRT-4 is in it?! :D It was my first car and it was on GT4 so just wondering ..

I always assumed it was dynamic. As I recall, some French journalist semi-confirmed several months ago.

Yeah totally!

Someone mentioned it before, but doing a 24h race condensed in a 3h race with pitstops and day/night cycle will be a blast.

Well, in GT4 you couldn't walk around the car in a first-person view (if my memory is correct). In PGR3 and 4 you could walk around the garage(s) where you kept your cars in a first person view and take photo's.

I hope you can open the doors/hood and sit in the cockpit (of the 200 premium cars:D ) and take a photo!

you couldn't do that in gt4

pgr4 has a free camera whilst gt4 has limited fixed positions
Fixed positions that you could still adjust quite alot. Not total freedom but you could move around a bit. It's clearly an evolution of GT4 and not a copy of PGR, which is what I meant.

gt5's free camera mode only sounds like it's for the photo mode locations and not during races?
Yes.

gimme those bikes at gamescon :D
Tourist Trophy 2, believe.

GT6 is clearly gonna be for PS4 so they might as well do TT2.

It's just really amazing. I mean, how many racers feature proper day night cycles? For the most part racing games just allow you to select day or night and that's assuming that they actually have different times of day.

GTR2 and Ferrari F355 come to mind. But obviously, doesn't even come close to what we saw in that Tuscany track.

Bummer that they'll only have 9 Nascar cars. So I can image no season mode for Nascar.
They all look the same to me. I thought they would only have one model NASCAR and then do forty of them or something.

Demo has 9, they said they were gonna make more.

*edit* Infact, GTPlanet already spotted 10 different ones from all the trailers.

Kaz said at this event that he believes that GT5 is the most technically advanced PS3 game out there. It seems like he's right. Pretty amazing considering all the shit people talk about Japanese developers this generation.

The most impressive track, though, was the Nurburgring, not only because it's so huge, but also because of the ridiculous amount of work that has gone into recreating it. For example, when racing in a 24-hour event at the track (which you will have the option to do in real time), you'll not only get to see the day-night transition but, because it's such a long event, you'll notice that many of the spectators have tents or camper vans that aren't there during normal races

The track i'm most interested in seeing is the one from the FT-86 trailer. I just want to know where it's located. Is it really the Stelvio Pass?

Well PD is part of Sony and PD were never normal even compare to other Japanese devs back in PS 1 and 2 days.
What PD does means nothing for Japanese developers this gen cause they were always ahead.

I wonder if there many unrevealed locations left, or have we seen almost all of them ?

If they say NASCAR mode includes all of the classic tracks, that's got to be more than Daytona and Indy. It seems like if they are going to all the trouble to follow all the NASCAR rules they'd have more than 2 ovals to race on. It seems inadequate, unless they're counting on fleshing it out with NASCARs racing on road courses but, what it's going to have a pace car on the Ring ? LOL And if there are more ovals, there has got to be more road courses.

And I thought Yamauchi once said something like you'll be able to play all the GT4 tracks in GT5.

The would be so nice to have all of the series classic fantasy tracks. They wouldn't have to remodel everything, I don't think it would take 2 years each, for a simple HD texture upgrade.

They had five years to optimize the hell out of it, it better be advanced.

It's really nice to see the game being revamped with night/day cycle, proper collision phisics, smoke, sparkles, etc. And Rome is OMG beautiful!
Now if I only we could see the FULL damage model on Premium cars I would be set :D Probably in August at Gamescon?

Could you, or anyone, grab a vid of cockpit cam while driving at night?

I've yet to see a vid featuring that.

I'll for sure try it today ? The problem is usually I am by myself. Hence, cant record. Otherwise people dont use the two options.

Those guys driving in the stream don't deserve it. They should have told them that they can release the gas pedal every now and then.
