Any tips for drifting?

I'm just missing the 3 drift missions for the 4th, 5th and 6th mission pack and i can't get the points required for gold no matter how often i try. Every other missions has been golded but these three "drive" me insane. Or they "drift" me insane. :messenger_grinning_squinting: I watched countless videos and it always looks so easy but my fingers aren't made for that as it seems.

Any advice that will lead me to success will be granted with a heart emoji!

I watched a video on YouTube for each one to get tips. 0assed them 3 or 4 tries after. The sugar one though took far longer.

Do you guys reckon we’ll get some new Cafe menus, or new tracks in the next month or two. It seems to have gone quiet on the update front.

Would like something. I’ve already quit playing and moved to other stuff. There just isn’t the solo content.

Live service games always launch unfinished lacking content with months of drought, no communication, or no roadmap.

I've beaten all three now after an intense hour of non stop drifting. Seems that the closer you stick to the line while drifting the more points you get.

Just completed the Mono 1 hour endurance race and missed 1st place by 8 seconds 😂
I love Trial Mountain Circuit though - it may be my favourite track.

I know the feeling. I bought it despite being busy with ER. I still put a few evenings in it but then dropped because I was on the way to plat ER. Now i'm kind of done with that game and picked up GT7 again.

Its a masterclass of gaming design. If i'm not racing, i'm browsing dealerships, reading history, making photos, just navigating it all is a joy to me, esp because I like the OST a lot. I think GT7 is a brilliant game, that would likely be my GOTY if Elden Ring didn't come out this year.

It's alas to samey to GTS which i burned out on..

But one of thse days I'll be back baby

Also I want to be fully dedicated you know

I dont know why but I was way more hooked on GTS when it came out and thats not even a "real" GT game. I played it to death, reached lvl 46. So when I gladly bought GT7...it didnt captivate me the same way. Yes better resolution and all that but not going to lie, a lot of stuff is literally just pasted from GTS. Theres a ton of music but barely any memorable and the ones that are memorable were from GTS. I would say 90% of the Scapes were imported from GTS. License tests are almost all the same besides the very last of the 10. Even the trophy icons are from GTS :D

At the moment, I dont care about car expansion as much as I care about imaginary tracks. Thats one thing I didnt like in GTS is that all tracks are real racetracks. I was hoping we would get something more in GT7....like Cote D'Azure from GT4 or Seattle Downtown from GT3 etc. Yes we got Trial Mountain but I just thought this was going to be a proper GT comeback. Ok they might add them in, but I dont like this way of thinking that stuff will get patched in etc. Comon, most of the stuff was just pasted in its original resolution from GTS, they added like 3 new tracks, there could of been so much more.

Had a blast with the BRZ in group A. 5 laps on the nurburgring gp hits a sweet spot of not too long but long enough to work past a mistake.

One thing I hope they will add, is the ability to turn off select tracks in the menu music like you can for racing. (I have racing music completely off, I favor the sounds of the cars and ambiance.)

They should patch the raffle tickets.

Last 10 were all the lowest money prize. This isn't even looking like RNG.

Not sure it is broken or intentional. But yes, the lowest value prize is by far the most common.

But the other week I won a Ferrari FXX out of the blue. Which. Is a 3.6M credit car. So all is forgiven!

I won an engine a few weeks ago, the Hellcat one of course, which can only go into the old school Challenger. 🙄

This is one thing I will say is a shortcoming in the game, but I can understand logistically while they will limit it. Engine swaps, which LS or JZ swaps are some of the most common in a myriad of makes and models not in the same pedigree or family.

Is the Hellcat engine the only one available? Are there Chevy LT ones like in the Z06/ZR1/ZL1?

My tickets have all been pretty garbage lately. All 3 stars and lower with all of them being the worst reward.

The Shelby GT350 did show up in the Legendary Dealership, so that was nice.

Also, I got a magnetic upgrade for my racing wheel, which makes the paddles feel much better.

Sounds like the Tomahawk is finally dead. RIP. I'm glad I saved a few million dollars just in case it got patched.
I do wish they would increase the credit payout though… it is a video game after all.

Is there no way to turn off a menu book once you accept it? (Aka the bonus books)

edit: nope, just had to complete it

I just spent 12 mil on the Jag XJ13 lol
I'm down to like 2.3 mil now, though the Ferrari Testarossa is the last car I really want and it's only like 300k or so... just have to wait for it to come back to the used dealership.

I used a slightly tuned S660 for the kcup races. It wasnt too hard to at least come in 3rd. But ya Cappuccino is likely easier.

The Vision GT Cafe races were pretty fun! I used a tuned Chaparral 2X. Which is a crazy car! This is one of the only chances to use this car in the game. Because it is not classified as a race car. But it's PP is way too high for a road car.

For me the key was to tune this car for Sport Soft tires. Anything less and it is impossible to handle. And anything more the PP will be over 850.

I haven't done the Gr1 Cafe race series yet. But I have a feeling that one will be the hardest.

Is there a way to see how many players attempted the online time trial to put my personal time into relation? I could swap through all the pages but maybe it would take me a day... :messenger_hushed: Also will there be a reward for these events after the expiration date?

Finished all the new menu books in 1st place. Was a nice adicion and hope to see more menu books coming from time to time.

From the two 6 star tickets got a Nissan Concept VGT, from one, and 1 million credits from the other, so not bad at all.

Unfortunatly none of the new races from the books are good credit farm spots so im back to Le Mans or the 24h Spa.

Used a tuned S660 for the K Cup races, was easy.
Used the Audi e-Tron VGT (electric) for the VGT races, also easy wins with this car, the car aceleration is insane.
Used a Super Formula car for the Gr.1 races with fuel map at 6 and hard tires, thers no need to do pit stops. Also Easy wins, but some big mistakes can still send you to 3rd place as 2 of the Gr.1 cars in this race also dont do any pit stops.

I am at what I think is the final pre-patch book race, the WTC GT3 cup. Its too bad that the majority of those book races are essentially just catch up races. I did most of them on Hard, which means you simply catch up later because they drive a bit faster. Since I don't want to steamroll the AI, I usually didn't tune much past the suggested PP. Its too bad because the optional races like the Clubman Cup Plus and GT3/4 races are can be tough as nails and aren't really catch up races either. The AI here is just very fast and will punish your mistakes, it probably cheats a bit, but I enjoyed these AI races the most.

The new menu books were fine. The lightweight cup I did with Cappuccino, tuned to near limit. Not much else. Before the final lap I would have the lead.

VGT I did with the Porsche. Its also quite easy. Just take it slow through the corners, basically only full accel at the straights. The AI is slow here. I especially like Deep Forest since half of the track is essentially one big straight (with a slow corner in the middle). Accel of these VGT's is insane anyway.

I'm trying to get into manual shifting but it's real hassle. Give me a car and a track and within some laps i have adjusted and get decent times but with manual shifting it feels that i drive like a total noob because i constantly need to focus on changing gears and that takes away my concentration from the actual race. I will try to get better but as of now i don't see any real progress.

I got used to manual shifting from doing so many laps around the Tokyo expressway in my Tomahawk lol
I still prefer automatic otherwise though

I think i'm at a point where i can still improve a lot without going for the manual shifting. At this point it lowers my lap times significantly.

Always drove the Tomahawk with automatic.
