Grand Theft Auto V - Coming for PS4, Xbox One and PC this Fall - Trailer

Great impressions, Hype intensifying.

I too hope that GTAO on current gen is beefed up, it really is a ghost town compared to the booming metropolis of the singleplayer. Hopefully wildlife is also brought into online, hunting could be a really fun activity with friends, it was in RDR

I dunno how many of you have devices that support Google Now, but because I used to search GTAV so much it pushes all of this news to me from horribly unreliable sources, with titles like "CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE OF GTAV," and thne the content of the article is just complete garbage.

The Epoch Times is one that comes up a lot and it's all garbage, but... this article in particular...

... wut

For those who aren't aware... Patriots Day is celebrated in like 3 states in the US, one of which is Massachusetts, and it's the third Monday in April. It coincides with the Boston Marathon every year. And it's in remembrance of the Battle of Concord and Lexington in the Revolutionary War.

But Domis is still one of the many annoying Youtube clickbaiting idiots who cover GTA.

Ok thanks for the questions I'll answer what I can.

1. Character models have been improved for sure.

2. Street detail is massively improved. Rain water now pools up on the road and honestly reminded me of Infamous Second Sons wet roads.

3. Animal and Wildlife count has been upped. They specifically mentioned how much they learned from Red Dead Remption and the original GTA5 and wanted to improve animal interactions even more.

4. Animals now sport actual fur. As in strands of hair that stick out from the actual body not just flat textures like in the original release.

5. I believe this has been in development since before GTA5s actual release as they said its been heavily worked on for over a year. Believe me you can tell. This is a complete remaster not just an uprezzed port. A huge chunk of staff have to be working on this.
Hot damn. Hope this is all real. Sounds great.

I've no real interest in even seeing a new setting for GTA VI. I like the setting, art, and cast enough of V that I wish they'd just keep expanding and adding to San Andreas, both single-player stories and as online game. That's likely not the concensus of GTA consumers, which is totally fair, but it's how I feel at least. I think the world of GTA V is that good.
Totally agree about GTA V's world, but I don't think R* would ever reuse it quite like that. Building a new setting is what they're so good at and is an important part of their games I think. They've said in interviews that they start with the world first and that everything else follows that. That initial fresh start on a city is probably too important for them to skip it.

It could even be a totally new cast and a totally new setting for the story itself. Imagine if they took GTA V's map and just expanded it a la GTA SA, and adding either San Ferrio or Las Venturas. This was made by a fan but imagine if the next 2 GTAs were just adding those 2 other cities with their own unique stories -- full GTA stories and productions but based on the GTA V assets rather than starting from scratch..

I dig this, I'd almost prefer this than another standalone game, just more stories with the current characters (and maybe some new ones Johnny prequel missions anybody?)

But I doubt it will happen, at least that they would physically add new landmasses to what's already there, would be cool though. Maybe you could "travel" to other places by aircraft like in that one san andreas mission.

60fps would be nice but I was honestly fine with Watch Dogs running at rock solid 30. Felt fine.

This game on PS4 will make Watch dogs max settings PC at 1080p cry! I'd bet anyone.

That's absolutely how much i think Ubi dropped the ball and how Rockstar with a 1 year old game will pick it up.

There's at least one other thing regarding GTAV that I'm aware of, that hasn't been announced. Don't know if it's coming for launch or not. I don't think it'll be DLC though.

Nobody will see it coming. Didn't believe it myself.

Well, if it's new landmass north of Mt Chiliad, no I did see that coming
whyyyy

Dynamic lighting? Whoa.

That "soon" sounds like 2015. :(

Sounds awesome, but the dynamic lighting was definitely highlighted in the trailer. Just about everything Shogun mentioned was highlighted in the trailer at some point or another. High polygon models, better textures, more foliage, more animals (someone spotted a cat in the trailer), larger draw distances, etc.

But it is still nice to get a confirmation on the enhancements. Honestly, this "remastering" sounds amazing and I hope "soon" is 2014 soon and not 2015 soon. Though I wouldn't be surprised if there was a delay, this is Rockstar after all. They love delaying games.

I'd like to think my current PC could run this at 60 fps, but I have my doubts and that means I'll go PS4 on release. A couple of years down the road, I'll pick it up again cheap off Steam to play on a new build.

I finished Saints Row 4 few days ago... when i saw the trailer and i saw the man in black and purple almost at the beginning of the trailer i joked saying to myself something like: "what does a Saints Row character do here? lol" then i saw the aliens, the flying and other things and i thought "now i understand" O_O

Quick question, do I need the 360 disc of GTA V when transferring to the PS4, or do I just need a rockstar account with my saves tied to it?

I want VI to come quickly, I honestly thing GTA V's map, while a great map, isn't good enough.

I mainly say this because the desert is waaay too small, city is boring and not enough interesting locations ( like more cities, proper towns) and they locked out North yankton. Even without the snow I would have liked that location to be incorporated.

Its like you see the pictures of the map and it looks huge and diverse but when you actually play its small and not enough.

Basically, GTA SA still has the best open world map for me.

About this FP mode and such, while I would love it, I will wait till they actually announce it.

I wonder why Rockstar's answer about animals in Online is in red with a question mark?

I think its just them hinting to them being in online.

I think they will just add-on cities at this point possibly. Las Venturas, San Ferrio..

I wish GTA V had some of these things.

I wish the casino was open.
Fast food places should have their interiors again.
We should be able to workout at the gyms and outside gyms.
Airport/prison/police stations/ and the life invader buildings should have interiors/stuff open.
We should be able to rent a horse and ride one. (this would be crazy, and I don't know why R* doesn't do it)[you could also link it to horse races and such at the casino]
North Yankton, we should be able to fly there.

lol that's not what I was thinking. Maybe there would be an update to the last gen systems that allowed you to upload the saves, wasn't sure. Haven't touched the game in a long time.

ahh, lol..yeah I see. But no, as long as you connected your XBL ID to Rockstar account, and your PSN and XBL are using the same Rockstar account. You are good to go.

It would be awesome if the game is $49.99. There would be lots of sales of it for $39.99. And perhaps it would be $29.99 on black friday. I think a lot of people would double-dip at that price. At least you would know that you would be getting a great game.

That just appears to be a photoshop. DRIVECLUB is $50 after the Plus discount. They aren't going to chop off $20 more. And Isolation isn't even up for pre-order. I'm not even sure which section of the store that would be.

Who the fuck has the time and inclination to fake photoshop blurry pictures of videogames offered for sale? And why? People are weird.

People who think their PC will run it at 60 fps are going to be disappointed. Open world games like GTAV just have too much being simulated and streamed for the engine to maintain a constant 60 fps on just about any hardware. It's the same story for the majority of big open world games. The newest 6 and 8 core intel chips might be able to do it if paired with a really good GPU and an SSD but I doubt it.

Those who want 60fps will get it, whether they need to hack it apart to achieve it or not.

Indeed. Hopefully it will be optimized over time. But I suspect it will be pretty rough initially and improved over time. PC is just not high priority. Too much piracy and too little money. Gotta be happy that they are doing it at all.

We never got a RDR for the PC. (Though I still hope they would ship it . . . give us RDR for PS4, Xbone, and PC PLEASE!)

But supporting multiple cores requires extra work and isn't granted. Single-threaded performance isn't that great on those.

The links above are dead, but Joystiq paraphrases the posts above with a screenshot:

http://www.joystiq.com/2014/09/22/gta-5-adding-first-person-vehicle-view-on-pc-next-gen/

Details like on-foot first person, in-car first person, and a retooled character creation (selection?) system.

A since-pulled support article on Rockstar's website points to some new features for Grand Theft Auto 5 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. According to the article, seen above, the revised versions of GTA 5 will feature a first-person mode for vehicles "that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more." The game will also include a first-person mode "while on foot."

Rockstar plans to offer an "overhauled character selection screen" as well as new Easter eggs and random events for the game's story mode. The developer noted that new animals will appear in the city of Los Santos, and appears to be determining whether animals will also appear in the game's online modes. Lastly, it added that players transferring characters from the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will receive "new weapons and a free garage in GTA Online." GTA 5 will reach PS4 and Xbox One on November 18 and launch on PC in 2015.
