Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Well, maybe spend a few weeks adding RT shadows and AO in the regular RT mode lol or add Ray Reconstruction to the base RT mode.
Ray reconstruction requires certain inputs/information, cant just slap it onto any game. If "regular RT" doesnt provide those things (which could be the case if pragmatas rt is truly bad) then it might not be possible to use it (or at least without looking like shit). Shoddy RT pretty much means no RR.

I think thats why for crimson desert switches to a much more robust rt in order so that it can turn on RR. I pretty much mod it into every HW lumen game without problem, but in some UE5 games it refuses to turn on and now that i think about it, it might only be the ones where its impossible to switch from SW.

Btw is there a technical reason why destruction is delayed by half a second, it look like shit sometimes that reactions are so delayed.

I hope they fix it sooner or later.
CD can produce spectacular vistas occasionally, and I still enjoy tinkering with it, but graphics-wise it's a broken piece of shit.

Looking forward to the next patch this week. DLSS/RR implementation is still botched. It has so many issues. One of them is the way it butchers displacement mapping. I can't stand it:

Let's fucking go!

I'll definitely be on board with this because I really like AC serie.

But mark my words, people will backlash AC4 Remake with hate. They'll probably say "It lost it's soul", "Too similar to AC Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla" etc. etc. If nothing else they will hate Ubi's guts whatever they do.

Don't get me wrong I'm not defending Ubi-especially their involvement in woke/DEI shit like every western studios- but the hate they recieve is immense. So I'm nearly %100 sure that people will hate AC4 Remake as well.

Hope they won't do any woke/DEI shit in this remake.

Just got to the desert in Crimson Desert, and I am sorry to say that it has some very last gen rocks that look like they were taken straight out of death stranding 2 and most last gen games. I am sorry, but this is why i like UE5. At least they use some next gen rock assets. I am so tired of these orange rocks in games. Can we please move the fuck on.

There are times where it still looks very good in the desert. Especially when you add foliage and volumetric effects. RTGI still helps makes it look decent instead of complete garbage like DS2. But for a game called Crimson Desert, i wanted it to have a desert that looked amazing.
Yeah, the quality is quite inconsistent, but lots of rocks are almost photorealistic IMO, definitely no Yotei!
(Though I really liked most of them DS2 rocks too. Maybe it's a matter of taste then :messenger_beaming:)

People like to move between companies which is a lot easier in SF than Topeka.
They like to move around companies because those companies aren't giving them the opportunities and satisfaction they're looking for.

Plain Old Games, the new studio in Topeka, Kansas, as well as Bourbon Bomb Studios out of Kentucky will give them all that and more.

This has been mostly fixed, there is still a difference but it's very minor. Far from this gif for sure.

I already play with rr.
Do you have this everywhere? Or just in a specific place? If so let me know where this is I want to check it, because RR is very consistent now and you shouldn't see stuff like this anymore.

They already released a patch to fix the pop in up close. Well, eliminate. You can turn off a new setting called geometric detail or something and that will remove all the little pebbles and small bits of foliage that were popping in constantly.
That's a PC-only option I think.

I made this gif with the latest version. Admittedly, I use ReShade, maybe the additional shader settings aggravate that specific problem.
But Yeah, the launch build was way worse even, if you ment that.

I've been doing some testing on my end and it's nothing like your gif. Again it's not perfect but it's not looking like this. Also at 4mn30:

So there is definitively something weird happening with your game.

It's pretty rare.

Those look better. I still dont like the second shot.

Not sure why you're surprised by this. AI has been faking real life images convincingly for a while now. No reason it wouldn't be able to do the same for games.
I am surprised because of how faithful it got. We always had these AI images of GTA 6 and other games but they never got anywhere near the closeness level of this, they looked ugly in fact. But this one is amazing. Many others on Twitter are shocked too.

If GTA6 gameplay looked exactly like this, would you be happy with it?

Yes I would. You can tell they have much more geometry shading than what we have GTA 6 now judging from the trailers. Makes me wonder what types of Neural Rendering tech or maybe how they'll implement something such as DLSS 5 for the inevitable PC version. Exciting prospects.

AI keeps improving at a frightening pace. But the good news is that we will be able to go back and apply a UE5 filter to Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, Spiderman 2 and other Mario Kart 9 to finally give them next gen rocks, bricks and foliage.

I know what you mean, but I don't think it'll work well for those. UE5 AI for Ghost of Yotei would be something…💀🙏

I'm so looking forward to how Rockstar properly implement neural rendering tech into their rendering pipelines. Now we have to wait for the game first and enjoy it thoroughly because it's the game of all time!!

I'm gonna need to play AC 4 Remake to see the visuals, not gonna do the same mistake as I did with Shadows.

All the screenshots and previews and YT videos didn't impress me at all, only to play the game and be amazed.

I can typically infer even from youtube videos whats going to look current and whats going to look last gen. Did it with Alan Wake 2, Avatar, AC Shadows, and most recently Crimson Desert. You just have to look out for markers like asset quality, indirect lighting, or rather bounce lighting. if the materials look flat, you know its last gen. The rest like you said shows up on your screen when you finally play it.

What gets me every single fucking time are the previews right before launch. Or rather previews by youtubers who get trash captures or B roll from game studios that completely destory all kinds of detail. I stanned for AC Shadows for a long time until the previews broke me and im still mad at myself about that.

Looks pretty good IMO
If they can retain the art style and moods of different times of day from the original, only now way better thanks to their awesome rtgi system, this game will be beautiful.

For a ps4 launch game Black Flag was a looker. Unfortunately it has that horrible AA that games had from around that time which makes the image quality so rough on a 4k tv. I was playing it recently and even with that issue, at 1080p and 30fps it still can look beautiful. Its a great setting for a game. Im excited.

Path Tracing is one of the biggest leaps to ever happen to video games, it just changes everything, makes things look CGI like and not gamey.
Agreed, and unfortunately even though gaming has barely reached this new and awesome milestone, we are about to be forcibly pushed into a graphical leapfrog situation with DLSS5, regardless of it's many problems.

We don't have to accept DLSS 5, this attitude by gamers is so sheep like, no disrespect.
To add nuance to how I feel on DLSS5:

I don't think DLSS5 is bad as an option.

I think DLSS5 is bad when it's not.

And these thoughts are mainly based on what I witnessed and then DF and Nvidia's bending of the truth that entire week everything went down. It all left me highly skeptical and worried.

I'm more confused at the people who didn't raise a single eyebrow at any of it.

DLSS 5 actually is eye straining to me, its like a cheap filter pasted over the visuals with the wrong depth information, makes me want to vomit., how can people play something like this?

Hopefully they make big changes to the mission structure and combat or black flag is gonna be yet another game with great graphic that i'm not gonna buy like crazy bitch 2 or mafia.

I replayed Black Flag a few months ago and the combat was the worst part yeah. So so easy, no challenge whatsoever and very repetitive. Missions structure is not bad although the game would benefit quite a bit from removing some of tailing missions

I never played the game but i heard about those tailing missions and i never liked the old ac combat (not that the new one is much better but it is closer to my taste).

The graphic upgrade doesn't look big enough to convince me to play an untouched old ac game.

I would hope for clipping to no longer be a thing in gaming. Seeing feet under the ground or a character's head going through a shirt collar breaks immersion.
