Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

The graphics look a generation ahead. There is an insane amount of detail in every level. Not just that one beachhouse like we saw in the U4 epilogue. The lighting especially interior lighting is way better. The airplane setpiece looked insane. I have no idea how you can think it wasnt next gen.

This is one of the least impressive things I've ever seen.

Wow the gameplay looks really good. Visuals good as well
It's a good looking game but the usual over hyped "it looks a generation ahead" talk from Snake is funny. Yes some of the parts are impressive in scale but that's mainly because there's been a real lack of narrative driven single player games with big action set pieces this gen. ND would blow this out of the water had they been making U5 for PS5 since TLOU II released.

Saying that I'll be playing 007 day one on my PS5 Pro!

No yeah not sure I agree with that take. It looks better in most ways but there's still things ND just does better

Is cinematic, but Blizzard is undefeated at this shit...Can we get this type of fidelity on series 7000 with DLSS 6?

He has me on ignore but unless he meant "next gen" over U4 then I agree. I thought he was meaning next gen as in a PS6 game lol...

I'm playing AC Mirage just now on the Pro and it honestly looks better than this in it's 'calmer' non big set piece parts. I personally have never thought the Hitman games were much of a looker.

compare the explosions, particles and lighting in the reveal trailer and the new trailers.
Its been gutted and downgraded.
gosh i hate these studios.

Go watch the previous trailer and compare shot for shot.
One good shot to compare is when he climbs into the window and waves.
The DOWNGRADE is jaw dropping!

that sucks. those explosions and physics based destruction effects made them look so next gen. but the game was dropping below 30 fps so something had to give.

lets hope PC's max settings dont have those downgrades.

I think this WAS the PC footage. At this point no reason to still be showing ps5 pro footage, which was what they showed.

0:25 on the new video, 9:39 on the old.

Neural Rendering applications like Neural Materials, Neural Radiance Cache, DLSS 5 (even better form of it, DLSS 6) will take us there easily, only thing left is animations fidelity not only needs a lot of developer work, but also more memory & faster CPUs.

This looks good, I think pathtracing will do the heavy lifting to push it next gen. We'll see...

From what I can tell, they have all but removed the volumetric effects that gave it such a next gen look. Lighting definitely looks a bit flatter now. I am no longer getting that next gen feeling from the latest trailer like i did with the original reveal.

It might just be that they didn't turn on max settings for this trailer to manage console expectations. Let's wait for release to see how PC looks maxed out.

PC version Path Traced will look glorious.

God damn you guys, not every game has to raise every bar. This is a huge leap in production values for IO Interactive.

007 looks quite downgraded compared to the first presentation.

It kind of look like a hitman level title graphically, which is already very good, but also for the very stiff animations and this is bad. It felt like uncharted without nate's smoothness.
Hope it plays less rigid than it looks.

I honestly don`t see anything impressive in that 007 game judging from current gameplay material. It´s a big jump for I/O maybe, but it`s definitely nowhere near the top, neither from a technological "features"-nor from an asset/animation/texture quality standpoint.

Just watched the 007 trailer at home on monitor. There is definitely a big downgrade to lighting, but hopefully we'll get it back with PT on PC. Game seems fun af tho, definitely buying it day 1 and you'll know it will have an amazing post launch support

Overall it looks average, but for the first time I feel some hype about this game. Good trailer.

I'm nor sure about virtal shadow maps, but if they don't use both nanite and lumen - UE5 pretty much goes to waste here. DF will confirm or deny it.

Crimson Desert DLSS implementation still destroys detail (Yeah, I know they didn't mention fixing it with the latest patch).
Gonna keep this shit off and stay with 4K native then.

If the game comes out in PC in the future I will get it. But if it stays exclusive in console I'll pass. I dont like playing anymore without DLSS4
You dont have pro? Im also used to DLSS4s crisp image quality, but i must say PSSR2 is almost on par. It looks stunning on 4k TV in the games i tried.

Yeah game still looks mediocre in my eyes. RR in 1440p is also a no go, looks horrible. This never gonna get fixed

I don't, I have a base ps5. And honestly I feel like its a waste of money to spend so much in a console just to play 3-4 exclusives.

Shit engine can't run at 60fps with Nanite and Lumen on current consoles. Especially when you throw in a million particle effects too. Gameplay is king in Saros tho. It will be phenomenal

why? the lighting is so good. It's like Returnal but better and more consistent. I also like how detailed some of the environments look. Huge upgrade over the somewhat PS4 looking areas in the first game. Cutscenes also look great. This game looks so fucking good.

Shame im completely obsessed with Crimson Desert and even after 120 hours, I have another 120 hours still to go.

?? Every single UE5 game released this gen runs at 60 fps with nanite and lumen. You just have to lower the resolution because both are expensive to run.

Ninja Theory was the only dev who released their UE5 game with only the 30 fps mode but a year later when they released the PS5 version, they shipped it with a 60 fps mode.

Yeah, I guess. This kind of game don't allow player to study details of environments that much.

Art style seems solid but I don't really like brown/grey color palette (I think green in returnal was better).

this looks bad, but i played a good 20-30 hours with RR off and on DLAA and it just lost its next gen sheen. Kinda like the latest James Bond trailers just look like they are missing that next gen look, Crimson Desert just doesnt look as good without RR. It's a big picture game anyway. You almost never notice these close up details unless you are indoors or play in first person.

muh UE5 bad

Still waiting for other engines to catch up. Anvil is the only one that's roughly on par but it also couldn't run RTGI on base consoles at 60 fps while UE5 can. And has only been used in a single game so far. Hope Black Flag remake impresses.

Northlight perhaps?
Blind guessing here, haven't really looked at how AW2 looks or runs on consoles.

looks like garbage even in the 30 fps mode because of the shimmering issue.

60 fps mode drops frames all the time. and looks even worse because it runs at 864p with all that shimmering.

Dude, the one UE5 game with good optimization and a living open zone world is Arc Raiders. Arc Raiders doesn't use Nanite or Lumen. UE5 is not built for current consoles or mid/low level PC's. I am even curious how a linear game like Gears E-day will run with all the crazy shit going on the screen. It may run 30fps on consoles

Clair Obscur has every effect and runs 60fps/1080p on consoles.

Returnal isnt a living open world game. its a fairly linear game.

And the fact remains, every single UE5 game has shipped with a 60 fps mode. Some do drop frames but so do other games like Crimson Desert, Avatar, Star Wars outlaws, Alan Wake 2, etc. The only RTGI game by Sony first party is Ghosts of Yotei and it only has a 30 fps mode on base PS5.

Just if I but it on top tier ue5 titles, it want stand against them on any aspect and that footage are from PRO with PSSR 2 , supposed to look good, I am not compare it to returnal of course it look better, but on this point on generation we should got better than that specially it's using UE5, next month gears on series x will make this look like ps4 title
