Gravity Daze 2 gets a trailer

Glad to see this get a sequel! The story and setting seemed really bizarre and interesting, so many questions unanswered.

Like seriously you fly into a old mans coat and there's another world inside it. And the fucking spire and shit. Yeah that game was straaaannnnge

Kat is happiness! Game is happiness! I feel of happiness! Oh the happiness!!

Love the first game so much! It's the very reason that I bought a Vita. The trailer has me super hyped.

But...where's Dusty??

That's great for vita and all but.. This game screams PS4 technical showcase.. They need to do it.

If it could like their concept video, they'd have heads turning.

Their artist is sooo good.

He's in the concept art.

Enjoyed the first game.

Hopefully with being more use to the vita tech it will have a more consistent framerate this time.

Regarding the Project Siren concerns, it should be said that in Gravity Rush's credit sequence there is no team name attached. It simply listed those involved, and their role in the game's development. Interestingly, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale credited them as the "Gravity Rush Team".

Because games with touch mechanics don't work on the damn thing. Wanted one for WipEout. :(

what touch mechanic does gravity daze use? I remember gravity slide, but that could easily be mapped to other button. I think it could be done on dualshock although I really love the gyro aim in this game. I'd still prefer to play it on Vita even if VitaTV is compatible

Calling them Team anything now means that they'll either discontinue their game series (like Siren) or never release the game they're working on...

I'm looking at you Team Ico

As I said in the other GR2 topic earlier, I don't think Team Ico are formally known by that name; it's a termed coined by the community. I don't believe they're ever referred to by that name in any of their games, and the 'Team Ico Collection' was in fact called the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection.

Because the Vita TV doesn't currently support a number of games which use the touch-screen interface like Gravity Rush and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

Awesome.

I hope this time they use more the city, like sidequests, shops, eating places and more stuff (especially a nice house for Kat)

Yeah, I really agree with that. More things to do in the city would be very welcome. And I always found it a little odd how she decided to make her home in a sewer pipe!

I doubt that. Games with touch inputs are designed under the impression the player's touches will be 1:1 with the screen. That won't be the case with a DS4.

some game use touch as virtual button or gesture. virtual button can be patched to other button on ds4 like L2/R2, and gesture doesn't care where you do it on the screen.

games like Escape Plan that have rear pad function, or DJ Max is not going to be playable on DualShock4

It could just be something as minor as menu navigation like it seemingly is with WipEout.
Big oversight in my eyes.

DS has a touch pad. Games with touch will work on Vita TV, when the PS4 launches in Japan.

I hope you are right, but the silence on Sony's part combined with the incompatibility list certainly doesn't instil much confidence.
And the touchpad might not be good enough to replace the touch screen.

If I recall touch mechanics weren't a big thing in Gravity Rush. The gyro was much more instrumental in how it played and not only does the DS3 have a gyro in it, the DS4 has further evolution on that same Gyro tech.

I could definitely see both Gravity Rush games making it to VitaTV, but you'd have to be ok with gyro controls. (they're core to the experience if you ask me).

I think the tricky part would be mapping the swipe evade to buttons. You swiped in the direction that you wanted to evade, meaning that you could control the camera and move your character while flying around and still quickly and intuitively evade in any direction. I imagine it would be tricky mapping the directional evade in a way that works as well as the touch screen on a DS3. Just my theory though.

Please let this one be native res with some AA. The technically incompetent vaseline subdued look of the original really killed its art style.

Oh, this was a nice surprise to wake up to! I really enjoyed the first game, despite its flaws. Should probably replay it sometime, I forgot a lot of the story.

Awesome this is getting a sequel. Great news to wake up to. Cannot wait to see how this turns out, considering the original was one of the games that made me want a Vita when it was announced.

This is fantastic news. If they can make it maybe reposition, it'll be a reason to buy a Vita. A second Vita.

So, please make a special edition Vita to coincide with the release.

First game was ok, hope the next is improved. And hope they don't have super terrible loading times again. Really killed enjoyment.

If there is one, it'd be a Vita 2000. Do you have any qualms with that?

I hope this is the AC2 of this series.

The first game has a good premise, but not enough gameplay variation. This game needed a sequel to fresh out the gameplay ideas and add more things to do.
