Gravity Rush 2 coming to NA, Gravity Rush Remastered is digital only

Australia market = European market in 99% of cases. So I mean all those games were either not released or digital only in all of EU.

I mean, if you want to skip the game over it then go ahead, but I don't think they're going to miss your $30 so you're really only hurting yourself.
If the game is niche enough to justify a digital only release, maybe they will miss my bucks.

I can't believe there are people in this thread playing defense on this

Man, thats just dissappointing. Price tag is good, but not even a limited physical release? Come on scea, thats just plain weak.

I suppose I will be importing either the eu or the japanese collector edition.

If God of War 3 Remastered bombed like Kagari says it did, this would leave a crater so deep in the earth I could use it to vacation in Nara again

Alright this is Europe, but here are some PS4 physical releases we're getting at normal retail according to amazon. I know the NA retail market is a bit different but still

The Talos Principle
This War of Mine
Shovel Knight
The Witch and the Hundred Knight Remaster
Mighty No 9
Zombie Vikings
Republique
Pure Pool
Kormaia Omega (what?)
Pure Chess
Tower of Guns
World Poker Championship

but NA can't get GR. Sure.

A disc release would have been nicer.
But I'm fine with a dgitial release.

So much drama over here. As if digital Only games were a new thing

Everything after mighty no.9 just makes me mad lol

I agree it's a shitty practice, but it's just there's a simple solution if you want to take it.

How is them doing this in any way messing up your enjoyment of the remaster or the sequel? They didn't even have to give us a sequel. Or they could have had the sequel exclusive to Vita again and you'd be upset with that.

Fact is. If anyone sees this game and are interested they can buy it. Simple. Them putting the remaster in a physical copy isn't going to magically make it successful

I've owned a Vita since launch and bought GR day one. Ever since that teaser trailer that was shown at TGS two years ago, I was ready to buy it, as many others were, for what we assumed was a Vita release. But then there was the long silence and it was becoming obvious that the delay was due to shifting development to the PS4. I came to peace with that decision. The way I see it, whatever is best for the series overall is the way to proceed. If it was still a Vita exclusive, I wouldn't be perturbed.

Which is my point - I want what's best for the series, so that it can continue getting releases beyond Gravity Rush 2, if that's what Toyama wants. SCEA treating the remaster like it's a bomb doesn't exactly bode well for the series overall does it? If the game is released physically then it's on shelves in stores, which automatically grants it more exposure to consumers. How can the more casual gamers out there know they are interested in the game if they don't even know it exists? There are probably a large percentage of PS4 owners out there who rarely bother interacting with the PlayStation store, and thus they're oblivious to GR: Remastered.

You're right, they didn't have to give us a sequel. But they are, so what's with the fucking half measures?

They didn't have to give us a remaster either. You know those things people seem to bitch about so much on here. They could have just given us GR2 on PS4 and been done with it.

So I don't know what half measures you're talking about. Good for Japan and EU on putting out physical versions. I can import if I want one but it's here for me in digital form as well. I can enjoy the game again.

Were Yakuza 5 fans this upset?

I don't really expect Sony to keep making Gravity Rush games.

I think they will if it does decently. Two out of the three regions are doing it right and putting it in both retail and digital. This doesn't really have to do with the game, this is typical SCEA. Atleast they're acknowledging it exists which is more than usual!

Hopefully they'll go a little further for GR2.

I just scoured the EU blog equivalent and I'm happy to see that it's at least getting a physical release in my country.

Well done SCEE. And so it's confirmed that SCEA continues to be super lazy even with their own Japanese games.

Atleast the price is good as the tradeoff. Was expecting $40-50. Definitely buying.

The sad part is everyone will import and then the money men will look at the sales and go "SEE! I told you there was no market for this game!" And then next time a niche thing comes along it'll get digital as well.

That's one of the reasons why I hate when people go "Well just import, it's region free anyway" or some shit like that - the only thing that that accomplishes is telling the publisher that he's doing everything right and shouldn't try to get his products on local store shelves, because another region will take care of that anway.

I mean, yeah, if you really, really want a physical version of a game, you have the option to import, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't voice our opinion about regional digital only releases of otherwise physical games and that we should always directly run out to import, thus supporting that decision.

Honestly I'm probably going to double dip on this game for that reason. I love the figma so I will definitely be importing for it, but I'll buy the digital copy when it comes out. I fear what happens with Gravity Rush 2 if Sony looks at those digital #'s and there not good.

youll find most of the people disappointed in this move actually care about the GR and want the series to do better. limiting its presence does not help sales nor does it send good vibes about the treatment GR2 will get from SCEA

So is there any other example where SCEA seemingly screw over their NA customers? Just curious since by the reactions in this thread, it's like they're on the level of NoA lol.

Dunno if this is the place to ask, but if I already have a Vita should I get GR for that or just wait for the PS4 remaster? I haven't really heard much about what they're changing in the remaster, if anything.

The fuck? Sony first party games need to have physical releases unless it's clearly an indie or AA type game. I definitely won't be picking this up for full price, step your game up SCEA because this is embarrassing.

Get the remastered if you have the choice. It comes with all the DLC.

Right. What's the point of going to all the effort of remastering the first game and then developing a sequel if you're not even going to give the series the full backing it needs and deserves to succeed commercially. Half measures SCEA. You're fucking things up with half measures.

If it was up to SCEA, I'm sure Gravity Rush 2 would not be happening.

I'd say wait for the remastered version for better controls and all the DLC. You can probably find the Vita version pretty cheap though.
