Incredible ending. It was 110% information overload in comparison to the relatively sluggish pace of everything prior to the final several chapters, but holy hell was it effective. So many emotions. Way too much I want to say but can't seem to effectively put into words. Man...
Anyway, some questions I wonder if you guys could answer (this thread has been hugely helpful already):
The alternate timeline Kat / Raven. Was it confirmed that that's who she was? And why was she helping Kat and Raven learn to master their ultimate forms?
Cai is Kat's nephew? But they weren't related... but then who was he exactly, why was he crowned king, and more importantly, why was he such an evil little shit? Maybe I missed something but I didn't really get much motivation out of him outside of "powerfully unstable thing trapped, me save powerfully unstable thing to make my own world because lol evil". And why is it that he was given his own Guardian? What made him special?
How did Cesie just suddenly learn to control her powers? Just a bullshit "that's my secret, I'm always angry" type cop-out? This game seemed to be full of that sort of thing: Raven appearing out of nowhere just in the nick of time, Lisa randomly appearing, Syd, etc.
What was the red orb Xicero was talking about (the one D'Nelico had in the credits of GR1)? What did it do? And potentially an answer to this question -
What was the thing Syd was using to control the Nevi? Was that the red orb from before? How the hell did he find it? Did he find D'Nelico and take it? And he just had the device to insert it into all along?
What was it about the people of Heskeville singing that helped Kat go super Saiyan? Is this just the typical shonen type deal with little explanation? She was just inspired to finally destroy Satan?
The lost children never woke up, huh? Was there anything really important about them outside of Cyanea, anyway?
So, it's speculated that Kat and Raven were connected...but then there's the whole Raven being an orphan not making any sense in relation to Kat being a queen. There was never any split there. EVEN THOUGH we have alternate timeline Kat being a visual / sonic mix of the two of them... And then there's Raven receiving her Guardian - was this guardian originally intended for Kat but was given instead to Raven for some reason? And then finally Kat was given her second half (Dusty) when she was in most need of it?
I felt like Syd was her guardian the entire time leading up to his death... and when he made that final sacrifice, it allowed Kat's nevi guardian to take form - or at least provoked Bit to finally give her Dusty. Tbh I'd think dusty was Syd if it weren't for him being alive and everything, lol. But there's definitely a connection there, imo, as seen in the end of the overture, him guiding / training her as Alias, attempting to save her at the cliffs of Eto, saving her at the end of GR2, etc. He's like the Link to her Zelda, only in a far more interesting sense.
Kat's "sacrifice." What was it? Becoming the black hole to stop the gravity storm from consuming the world? And if so... how the hell does she just apparently come back a year later? I get that time can work slower or whatever but I'm still struggling to understand what that was all about.
On that note, though... it'd be neat to see a sequel explaining what happened during her time as the singularity. Maybe there was a whole other world down there that had been consumed and she was working to bring back from its destruction as a year progressed in Hekseville?
This franchise is so full of potential and goddamn it's making me so sad knowing that it'll probably end with Raven's DLC... but at least it'll have gone out with a bang. What an incredible ride.
