Its actually nuts how versatile they are. There are devs out there who have dabbled in many different genre's, but these guys make consistently good to great games in multiple genres.
Bumping because I just listened to an episode of the DLC podcast where Jeff had some hands on with the game with really positive impressions. In it he mentioned it has a Grandia 2 style combat system which is turn based with a real time timeline element for turn order and he loved it (Grandia 2 is one of my favorite turn based combat systems as well).
He also mentioned the game has a lot of significant choices that will change the game and the guy specifically said "I know a lot of games say that, but we really mean it." lol. The example he gave was a bunch of mercenaries approached his party to get you to kill a bunch of farmers. Instead he decided to kill the mercenaries. After defeating them, he got the choice to spare them or not. He decided to let them go and they said they owe him one and will repay him in the future.
