The only thing about GT5P thats a demo is the price I have paid
£17.99 incl vat and delivery from play.com

Absolutely.Opus Angelorum said:Fair point.
There are a select number of franchises that people would pay a decent amount of money to play a demo:
Metal Gear Solid
Halo
Gran Turismo
SpokkX said:I still can´t believe people pay money for a demo
I thought that was only valid for real psn titles, because warhawk is available as downloadable version also, and u can't share that with 5 pals.Goldrusher said:MSRP in Europe is 39,99 (£24.99 in the UK). Play.com is selling it for ~28 (£17.99 in the UK).
So if it's $39.99 in the US, perhaps some store/chain will sell it for $30 or less as well.
Secondly, the download can be installed and played on up to 5 systems.
If you're really, really cheap, buy it from the PlayStation Store with a bunch of friends. Each pays $8.
$8 for 12 tracks, 70 cars and tons of races, both offline and online.

Drift trial, reversed track... man, I played that for over 30 hours.jonnyp said:It's not just a regular demo. There are so many hours of gameplay there. I've almost spent as many hours on the 1 track demo of GT:HD as I did completing Mass Effect ffs. :lol
Opus Angelorum said:You were insinuating that people only bought Crackdown to play Halo 3.
Omg, I'm going to wait for MGS8!Esperado said::lol It's funny because you know they are right. It's stupid to buy an inferior product when you know the superior version will eventually come down the line. I, fortunately, will not have to worry about this because I'll wait for Gran Turismo 6. Think about it, GT5 is just going to be another step in the timeline toward GT6. There really isn't a point in getting this. To show you how smart it is, I'll give you the example for why I didn't buy God of War because I knew God of War 2 was coming. Think about it, God of War 2 was superior in almost every aspect. It's the better game and thats why a lot of people bought God of War 2 who didn't buy the first God of War. Fortunately for me though, I'm not some stupid gamer peon who bought God of War 2 because I knew a superior game, God of War 3, was coming down the pipelines. You guys are all noobs.
Steroyd said:It's weird but people bought the Halo 3 Beta first then found out that Crackdown wasn't a bad game. :lol

If you seen the GT4 sales in NA, they might have a reason not to...stuburns said:Sony must be fucking insane.
The MGS4 bundle is months off, and there's not going to be a GTA4 bundle. GT5P will push hardware, they're being moronic.

QFT and great justice. IF cost is really an issue, then game-share will cut down on that. Even going in halfway with someone will drop the price to $20US for each person. The complaints about the cost are hollow. I'm playing someone else's JP copy while I wait for the US version to come out. The only reason I haven't dumped more time into it is b/c the menus are unreadable, but otherwise it works perfectly. Hell, it didn't even cost me anything directly. I just shared some of my other PSN games.Goldrusher said:MSRP in Europe is 39,99 (£24.99 in the UK). Play.com is selling it for ~28 (£17.99 in the UK).

The States are simply not enthusiastic about Gran Turismo as one may expect. I think Kaz even said there's no market for GT5P in NA at all.
Mind documenting this? Pics here and there and any problems you run into, please!!!iapetus said:Right, I'm off to buy 20' of PVC piping and some miscellaneous bits.![]()

wazoo said:Europe is mad about racing games. People who do not understand why there is no - for now - GT5P bundles in the US are also wondering if Burnout flopped based on NPD charts.
Burnout and Dirt were lead on ps3 because Europe was assumed to love Sony before ps3 launch.
Racing games are made for euro audiences, WRC games are most of the times not released in the US, F1 racing games are the same.

iapetus said:With this coming soon, I had to do a bit of Googling to find this - build your own racing frame for $30. It's not pretty, but it's hellishly cheap. Might get the parts for one today so I can be ready when GT5P arrives...
Of course then it's a slippery slope to the purchase of a real racing seat to add to it.![]()
