And man, lots of bitter tears on this thread, more so then MGS4 50GB deal.
So like how Halo 3 isn't 720p?

andrewfee said:With GT5 Prologue, you're just paying to get a slice of the full game early, effectively making GT5 a £70 game rather than a £50 one when it comes out. If GT5P's cars and tracks weren't going to appear in the full GT5 (but you could still use them in GT5 when it comes out if you have it) then I'd have no problem with it at all.
andrewfee said:Out of interest, how many cars did GT4 have? (the full game, not prologue)
Erm... yes I guessChoke on the Magic said:So like how Halo 3 isn't 720p?
andrewfee said:Just because your HDTV says 1080p doesn't mean the game is running in 1080p.
If you set a 360 to 1080p everything says it's running at 1080p, and I think there's only two or three games on the system that actually do.

I live in a apartment complex, wanna know if its worth it lol.

iapetus said:What kind of fool do you take me for? I've got the pictures - probably shoddy quality given my abject lack of competence with a camera, and didn't get too many in-the-process-of-building ones, as it's basically just a case of slotting the pieces together according to the design, but I'll write it up some time - tomorrow, most likely. Tonight is for beer and racing.
It's a pretty sweet setup - at some point I'll end up re-engineering it to have a decent racing seat built in, and the pedals need a more solid point to rest against, but it's good enough for now.
Pretty much what I'm going for - decided in the end to build it around an old chair I had lying around, and that holds it in place pretty well as long as you don't pull back on the wheel. A few quick string ties to hold it in place should keep it good the other way round as well.

It's upscaled from 1280x1080p to 1920x1080p. Or something like that.
But GT5 is best played at 720p cause it's not upscaled and adds x4 AA. Uncheck the 1080p setting on your PS3 settings.
HokieJoe said:I gather that no responses to my query means that buying GTP offers no assurance one will have access to the rest of the game when it releases. Essentially, I'll just have to buy the new game to get the extra content. Is that correct or not?
GasMan said:Two separate releases. You should be able to transfer your credits to the full game but that's about it I believe. So no, you don't get the extra GT5 content unless you buy GT5 when it comes out.
No one knows the answer. Nothing has been mentioned.HokieJoe said:I gather that no responses to my query means that buying GTP offers no assurance one will have access to the rest of the game when it releases. NextGenitals said:I might have to kill the next person who calls GT5P a demo.
My god, there's more people for you to kill.Lindsay said:That doesn't mean its not a demo. Its the HD era, everythings getting bigger and better even demos!
btw Is there still no word on wether or not they will they put out the prologue demo-demo in english?
TJ Spyke said:Since people continue to address me, I will reply.
I am not saying that there isn't a lot of stuff it Prologue, all I am saying is that it is not a full game. Some other people here seem to be offended at it being called a demo (which it is).
zero tolerance, nope.
so_awes, I came here to talk about the demo reaching 1 million pre-orders. That has nothing to do with whether I like the genre or not. I don't have to like something to be able to talk about it.

I already have Forza 2, and I'll probably buy GT5P if it comes out for $30 or so.wazoo said:not preordering GT5P will not improve Forza2 sales

I'm not saying that GT5P doesn't deserve to do well. I'm just saying that Forza 2 should have done better than it did. It was bar none the best console racer ever made when it came out, but it sold a tiny fraction of what any GT title sells.

Total cost of parts came to about the price of a single video game.
As you can see, we went a little off the original design - having a single cross-piece as the only support for that wheel shelf just seemed like a bad idea.

There are already more pre-orders for a GT Prologue chapter than the best racing game of all time to date had lifetime sales

Mrbob said:Andrewfree I would consider this more GT5: Episode 1 than a demo.
The content is fairly substantial. Now if there is a way to buy the rest of the content off of PSN for 20 bucks then I think this is a decent idea to get the game out early. If you have to pay another 60 bucks for the same content + more than I guess it is somewhat lame. Oh wait we already did that it was called HL2: Orange Box.Paid for a mixture of old content and new. I had no problems throwing 60 bucks down on the game. And now another 40 on the steam version with their weekend sale.

RabG said:Just had a thought for all the DEMO LOVERS HERE
Halo was a demo of a demo because Halo 2 was released then Halo 3 JUST
using the logic the people here calling GT5P a demo.
So that means that any game that ends up with a sequel was only
a DEMO!!!

Now I just need to find the G25 for $150 or under $200 at least (cheapest I could find online was $230 or so, if anyone knows a good site I would appreciate it) and if not the G25, I will get the new wheel Logitech is putting out.
