GT Sport E3 Build - Massive Upgrade

I mean great graphics or not a game shouldn't be wrote off just cause of graphics anyways.

The best physics in the world could make ps2 graphics feel like the best game ever imo

I was always on the GT wagon and left the other thread cause it was complaint after complaint but yeah, I still hope they will have more tracks in the game. One of my biggest worries more than anything. Always felt it would look good eventually, expect it to get worked on and added into for years to come.

Can you attach something to those Ps4s and take direct feed footage? not sure if possible but much appreciated from those off screen videos.
Believe me if we were allowed to we would, we've got all the portable hardware to do that...

Lovely, big improvement over the quite terrible reveal footage.

Still needs to improve another 15-20% in visuals to be up to GT standard (or DriveClub) but we can see clearly that the visuals are a work in progress.

I like that in the Willow Springs replay at 2:12 you can see spectators(?) walking aroung in the background behind the fence. Nice detail.

Just noticed it, doesn't contribute much but anything to make the game more "alive" is always welcomed. Now they need to overhaul that Tokyo track and bring it to life.

Someone should edit the new GT Sport threads with "IT LOOKS GOOD NOW", lol.

What the hell... how far apart were those builds? Damn.

Makes me wonder what "Classic Style is. As long as I can swap Shift Up and E-brake those controls look fine.

That's from the Brands Hatch Gamersyde video, Classic Style is the same as GT6 with Accelerate and Brake being X and square.

In GT6 you could customize any button individually anyway, so let's hope they didn't remove that option in this.

I would usually not day 1 buy a new game that I am so unsure about but... I have to know. I have to see it for myself. The graphics are badass but I still think they may be getting away from what they are good at with the multiplayer focus.

I'm on my phone so I can't post pictures, but if you take a look at Northern Isle Speedway (the oval track) it got a major overhaul between the unveiling event and the E3 build, so I have no doubt they will jazz it up in some form.

It seems like the main thing they did there is add a lot of color to the track. This is something they obviously couldn't do with a real world oval track which in general are very boring looking and tend to have the all white scheme that the reveal oval had. But since this is their own creation they could change up the color scheme to make it pop a bit.

There on IGN right now and apparently they actually render all 3 coats of paint on the car. So the base coat, the flake coat or whatever it is and the actual paint. Where supposedly you can tell how humid the air even is in the game because of the way the paint on the car is actually done. Not a car guy....don't know jack about paint. But it sounds a little ridiculous

DualShock 4 doesn't have pressure sensitive buttons so I don't really see the point. Weird. I always remapped to the triggers in GT5/6 anyway.

Race Pro was my favorite racing game last gen. It really wasn't a looker, but boy those physics couldn't be beat in my opinion.

I hope this game has a lot of tracks too, tons of courses give a racing title legs in the long run.

At the very least, they could do some simple things like add hoardings, brake markers, etc.

Something akin to Tokyo R246 I guess.

Some color and better textures made it look that way, they didn't do much there and i don't think they have to do much in that Tokyo track. Just a dash of color and populating it with things to make it pop and come alive. The track is impressive, its just bland looking unfortunately.

It's crazy how better this build looks compared to the last one. I'm a more casual racing fan, and to be completely honest, 5 minutes of the last build had me completely disinterested. Now I wanna watch all the gameplay out there.

Sounds like what the other modern racers are doing really. It's probably also PBR they're describing how everything isn't just a texture but actual "materials" with layers and properties.

Any word on if we'll see anything more this weekend at Le Mans? Seems unlikely given the timing of E3 and this years race.

Nothing, but there are a number of upcoming events this month where we could get new tracks or details

1.) Le Mans (June 15-18th)
2.) Pikes Peak Hill Climb (June 18-26th)
3.) Goodwood Festival of Speed (June 23-26th)

Hmmm, out of those I'd say Goodwood is the one most likely of the two to have anything present (if nothing comes out Le Mans).

Edit: Then again, Kaz is actually going to be present at this year's Pikes Peak so maybe we'll get some news from the rally side of things?

You might be right, i am very impressed by the vast improvements being made.

For me it's the missing racing features that make this a no-buy. The scrapping of the majority of the cars (even the high quality premium cars, I don't mind standards being gone), the main core GT campaign, and apparently the customisation did more damage than graphics could. Those parts actually matter in a racing game and now they're gone.

Yeah. I stated before, even back during the may event, that I have no doubt in my mind the visuals will be solid/good by the time the game releases. It's the content that's the main issue for me.

Slightly OT but is Logitech done making new wheels? I'm assuming the thrust master is the best option for PS4 now..?

Edit: I'm dumb I just googled and saw the G29 lol.

I kind of expected that.

How was the driving? The physics? The racing experience? Any interaction with the campaign? How was the new wheel?
The driving experience was pretty good. The physics are the best GT have ever been. Definitely the highlight. The racing experience overall was pretty tame and kind of plastic? It's due to the collision physics and lack of deafening sounds associated with these cars. The new wheel was way to loose for me but that's my personal opinion. All in all, if you liked gt5 and gt6, this looks like a better version with updated physics but everything else is virtually identical.
