GT Sport E3 Build - Massive Upgrade

The driving experience was pretty good. The physics are the best GT have ever been. Definitely the highlight. The racing experience overall was pretty tame and kind of plastic? It's due to the collision physics and lack of deafening sounds associated with these cars. The new wheel was way to loose for me but that's my personal opinion. All in all, if you liked gt5 and gt6, this looks like a better version with updated physics but everything else is virtually identical.

New wheel?... I haven't heard of anyone trying that yet.

I assumed this is the new wheel I was playing with. Is it?

Take a tripod and at least frame the screen as best you can. The pd staff were helping people setup their cameras at the shinjuku event.

We are not allowed to do off-screen full frame videos anymore. We have to show the tv at an angle and see all 4 borders of the tv completely. Some publishers go as far as force us to show the person playing the game (over the shoulder video).

Good lord - I'm well aware of the Gran Turismo gif effect - that the series can look much better in this format than it actually does - but it does seem like there's been a huge bump in the foliage rendering, no?
GIFs really suit Gran Turismo, because there's no audio. Graphics are not something the series struggles with.

Will buy if Sony updates their consoles and allows me to use my G27 wheel. If not. I'm passing on all racing games for the Playstation.

Project CARS lets you use your G27 on PS4. It's first-party titles that are cockblocked.

Nope. Got that wrong. Sorry.

Ironically, the replay audio from the trackside camera views sounds great. It's from the driving views that it underwhelms.

Well, that's me out. I get that a lot of people are happy they have improved the graphics, but everything else about this game just sounds like more of all the bits I hated about 5 and 6.

Without doubt looks better than the event footage, that whole event seems like a waste of time should've just held it till e3 for it to show better.

Its nice to the the hi/low beam button on the control screen also...Just imagining what a late dusk is going to look like ..........and the weather element! Crikey, i think clearly the best is still yet to come.....One thing i'd really like and PCars does it pretty well....is mist/fog.....I'm sure now we dont have the day/night cycle something like mist/fog could be implemented to a really high standard...

lol, people doubting PD's commitment to visuals...
I never doubted you Kaz, check my history...

As for other things...yeah, doubtful of any real meaty changes I'm sad to say...

Its amazing this thread isn't blowing up, they really did massive damage with that reveal. I guess most are probably overlooking the thread thinking it doesn't look good.

So true, I accidentally bumped into this thread... I wasn't even keeping an eye out for GT anymore.

Replay seems superb (we sure it's realtime performance or captured in-engine?), how is it in game? Gifs pretty please?

Weird. Could have sworn everyone was saying this looked like a PS3 game not too long ago.

Strange how time changes things, eh?

LMFAO! This!
They still got plenty of development time to improve it further. Also didn't Kaz state that this game will improve with updates???

so i get the impression this is a filler between gran turismo 6 and 7.
Not that it won't be great game, but seems many features have been excluded?

It's more online focused rather than story. I can see a single player/events mode being added as a connected downloadable though. No reason for standalone discs really.

Totally untrue - both GT5 &6 can be accurately described as a mixed bag. They're capable of looking absolutely stunning, and really underwhelming, depending on how much Polyphony worked on that given track and if you're driving a standard or premium car.

People tend to GIF the stunning moments rather than the underwhelming ones, and the format also really nicely covers GT's visual blemishes too (awful grass textures, etc). Anyways, I'm hopeful that this entry will break the trend and the game achieves a more consistent look, but it's Polyphony so...

I think GT5 and 6 look absolutely amazing, apart from the alpha channel effects (tyre smoke around bodywork), and the standard rather than premium cars. It's the audio that makes me want to claw out my eyes.

Like you said the physics and looks of the game is improved, the sound is certainly not identical to GT6 neither is the UI nor.....anything really including the collision. So i would like to know the things you found to be identical.

That was my thought too. There are significant improvements in every area from what we have seen with the exception of collision damage.

If the driving experience/physics is the best we've seen... Doesn't that mean it's an excellent game?

No. You see people were saying GT was boring with the grind, race after race of the same thing just with ever more powerful cars. So they introduced B spec so the AI could do that for you, but not everyone went for that so they introduced missions. Everyone loved missions, they were great. So now PD has cut out the grid and just included the missions and now everyone is mad because now missions suck for some reason and they want the old offline grind back.

Its got nothing to do with racing or driving, its about game structure. What is there is wrong and what inst is right. Until it is and then it becomes wrong.
