Porsche coming to Assetto Corsa and now Project Cars...

So, they actually dropped the racing line entirely for GTS. Kaz says it's because all those do is make you drive over them instead of actually learning the track. Instead they've replaced them with what they've called racing markers. There are three markers per corner. One for the entry, the apex, and the exit. All placed where you car should be if you take the corner properly. Here's a video showing it off

Thanks for the vid. That's a perfect example wich highlights the inconsistency of those recordings used for reference. Note the change of the overall tone at 9:44, when the camera changes:That microphone is terrible, towards the end his phone rings and even the ringtone is distorted.
Here's a cockpit video from a couple of weeks ago with audio from both an M235i and M6 GT3 race car, recorded with proper equipment:

If the timecode doesn't work for you then skip to 8:41 to cut to the chase.
Defending it from the claim that the sound in GT is not doing anything right or the cockpit view is just a "filter", yes. Among other things as a 3D positional sound engine and at rendering other physical efects, like doopler, GT it's still more advanced than many other games praised just by playing real-life looped samples.Jesus. Are people really defending the audio in Gran Turismo?
Delusional doesn't even begin...

I assume it's coming from pCARS 2? The first game stopped receiving DLC's some time ago.
Where did this come from? Source please?
I can't say much but I can say it is not exclusive and fans of the pCARS series should have some good news very soon.
We'll be making a formal announcement very soon.
That's a pretty huge assumption...
The Porsche license isn't easy to come by.
I just assume that EA can re-up that deal again and again under certain conditions.
Huge difference! The lighting is really something else, so natural. Two more comparisons from emula
Looking good for a PS2 title![]()

EA Porsche exclusive deal is really ending?

People trend to like the fake audio created by movie industry than actual real-life audio... it feels better and less intrusive to hear.
For exemple while GT games audio are not close to real life ones (I don't know if it is possible) I prefer it over the fake audio they did in DriveClub or Forza 6.
Real car audio at high rpms really screaming in a bad way.
Can you shed some light on this?
Hummmm... fake audio I mean when they use sound effects/mixes to make the car sounds more audible and yummy for the ears like Hollywood's movies do... cars sound at high rpms scream in not a good way.... they trend to add more bass and remove treble too.Can you shed some light on this?

Neither audio recorder from real car with professional equipment give the accuracy of the sound.
The lighting is simply on another level.
I don't understand how that's even possible to have a jump that big in that short of a time period.
Some are better, some are worst... neither close to be accurate.Still better than having the flat out wrong engine sounds like GT's got for some cars. I can't think of another racing game in modern times that does that. Solid proof PD haven't given a shit about the engine sounds.
V12 Lamborghini's with pitched up V10 samples for example. Inexcusable. Not to mention how the sound changes with different exhaust. They seem to have chosen sounds randomly for those upgrades. Utterly bizarre really.
McLaren F1 (V12) has got the same sound as the Cizeta Moroder (V16). The list is long.
It really isn't hard to at least use a sound that is of the correct engine configuration. A generic V12 sound is still more accurate for a V12 than a V10 sound is.
I think all of this stuff was already in the works just not stable.I don't understand how that's even possible to have a jump that big in that short of a time period.

Old build showed last month even so they showed another build in the same event with already better graphics.I don't understand how that's even possible to have a jump that big in that short of a time period.

I don't know much about Forza's sound design but I know Evolution did a pretty damn good job with Driveclubs and to call it fake is just plain wrong at least IMO

I don't like the sound in Driveclub at all. Everything sounds like it was recorded in a cave.
That shows exactly what I said... looks fake IMO... no car sounds like that and there are so much interference in the record (like wind on the mics that gives the cave like sound I guess).I don't know much about Forza's sound design but I know Evolution did a pretty damn good job with Driveclubs and to call it fake is just plain wrong at least IMO

They are.Arent those comparison gifs from GT6 and Sport?
This is exactly my point. When he switches to the shitty little secondary camera which is pointed back at his face, you can see how the audio suddenly sounds very understated and muffled. When using the proper equipment we hear the sort of audio you're saying is unrealisticThanks for the vid. As I said, the microphone in use in the video you posted is terrible! Even the driver's laugh is distorted. From to 4:29 to 5:32

The sound it's far from perfect but is good enought to exemplify the effect. If the pilot driving would have been speaking inside the car you could still hear him with a clear voice over the background muted engine noises and the high wind noise.
