Right now, you have bumper, cockpit, roof and chase.
In GT5 the nose camera is mounted deep within the car, not actually on the bumper where it should be. Watch this collision...

Notice how contact with the wall seems a little premature? That's been an issue for me since GT5 videos first started hitting the internet and I think Prologue might have been similar but I can't remember now. And it's particularly aggravating when you accidentally rear-end a car thinking that you have more room to maneuver.

I understand what you mean now. I thought you meant it was too high.

But yeah, it could be a little more forward. Or... show the actual front bumper of the car.

Looks great, will probably drive great, but I just can't get excited until Porsche is a part of the game. As a car fan, I just can't overlook their absence.
Too much racing history there to not be part of what will likely be the best racing game of this generation. C'mon Kaz, make.believe!

the lighting and atmosphere in the night shots is absolutely phenomonal. it sort of reminds me of some of mann's movies, like collateral. i'm totally listening to audioslave's ''shadow on the sun'' during night races.

So that's why PD are taking their time, the night track really looks amazing. I really hope all the street circuts have this option :D

Considering how many years we have waited just to see a night track and all it seems to be is the track that has been a night track since the original GT on the PSone, how long have we seen this night track? 13 years now? As much as I would like to have them I am not holding my breath for other/new night courses.

Why would they bother getting the systems in place for night races and then limit them to one track?

Porsche isn't going to be in the game.

That was a really nice trailer; looks like PD will make this game worth the wait. Simply due to the time taken for release my hype had dwindled however with just one trailer the hype meter has shot right back up.

GOW III and FFXIII are out the way now, time for Sony to start showing more of this game.

You assume there is a complex lighting system which would allow day time tracks to turn into night time ones with a push of a button. More realistically, I think night tracks are built with pre-backed "night content".

Not necessarily, I just don't think PD would have to completely re-create each desired night track.

Why did GT3 and 4 only have one wet track?

Not enough rain to go around.

Nah, only all the textures, if PGR series is any indication. That's *a lot* of work.

This was a long time ago, but I remember Kaz being asked this very question. His response I believe was that the wet track condition was really an experiment and that system limitations held them back from going further with it.

In such cases, yeah, I can understand the desire to not go bonkers with night racing. :p

Day and night tracks will be completely different tracks.

Oh, right.

Well we have RUF which is a better version of Porsche xD

I doubt Yamauchi would ship yet another Gran Turismo without a proper 24hr event. Perhaps those could have "pre-baked lighting" as well, but surely there will be at least 2 events (Le Mans and Nürburgring) with a day-night cycle ?

According to Gameblog, this is the TGS "journalist" trailer that we heard about last September. But with one thing lacking, the rain section is removed. Could that be part of the European trailer that's coming up?

So the damage they talked about then...is the bootleg damage that we've been seeing?

im starting to think more and more that there's gonna be a wet track and a night track and that's it.. just like other GT's. the game was scheduled for this month, i mean if they had night races on all tracks dont you guys think its something they would show off? the lack of concrete info is pissing me off and im really patient too -.-

You want them to spill all their cards now and show you everything so that you can cry and moan latter on when there's nothing else to tell us except the release date. :lol

how is that a problem on a game like GT? i wanna know everything! the game is in development for 4+ years and all we know with 100% certain is that it has cars and tracks -.-

All I can say to the long development time spent on GT5 is that I will just be glad they got it out, play it endlessly and enjoy online with friends. I do salivate on any given video clip, flashy pic or interview clip, but I have patience. Huge. Amount. Of. Patience.
What I am glad about racing games that you really can't spoil e.g. GT5 by showing it like say GoW3 or Heavy Rain where you can really spoil someones fun. Happy times when any clip is a must watch for any fan.

Kazuo Hirai = Kaz
Kazunori Yamauchi = Kattsun, Kacchan
Stop confusing me people!

The real beauty is that after all those trailers they actually didn't show us anything yet...
The game will be really huge and don't be surprised when some cool feature didn't saw the light of day before the game was released...

Are we sure it has cars and tracks? :lol

This is PD at it's finest, they have been doing this since GT2 basically. They are the ultimate in tease, give us a little, wip us into a frenzy, let it die then rinse and repeat. PD seriously puts the best strippers to shame when it comes to teasing.

Get used to it, it works for them so I can't see them stopping any time soon.

Dude... I love you.

Kaz and PD have a fetishism issue. They're starting to go gaga over their own franchise (hence the GT5 logo with the lights radiating). FINISH THE GAME BUTTHEADS

so excited omg night and rain...

can you do night + rain? :o
