GT5 News - Nurburgring update (pre-E3 edition)

Wonder if we will see any unannounced cars or tracks in the trailer.

I bet we end up with more questions than answers, its the PD way!

You know...
I almost forgot how let down I am every single time for GT news/videos from Spike/G4TV... think i'll just wait & catch online...

Boarded the hype train, seriously doubt it's just going to be a rehash of past trailers which a few GTPlanet members seem to think. Said it there and will say it again that I think at E3 there will be a nice little trailer however most of the GT5 presence will consist of Kaz coming on stage like last year and giving a run down on all the details followed by a release date.

The show has started.

I love how the intro mentions the world premier trailers of a couple of games and just when they're about to show GT5, the voiceover stops and you just see the Evo TimeAttack drift sideways :lol

So, how was it? Nothing truly new, from what I gather?
As always great graphics, shots of extra stuff and cars but nothing that's not really known already. Also Sony stop showing the same F'ing car taking damage jeez.

That was the old footage. I think it was more like 90% old/ 10% new. And I don't recall much being new.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but

On closer inspection the final shot of the Rome track in the trailer looks later in the afternoon than the one at 0:55.

Anyone else think so?

There's also a 'Mode' listed right below Customization but it's blurred out.

Anyway here's then new stuff

Most of it is old so a new thread doesn't seem really appropriate.

Seriously, I'd be happy with a shorter trailer with just the new stuff, rather than a longer trailer with 50% old stuff. The split/second snippet motion of the SLS AMG in the tunnel looked pretty good though.

That was the first GT5 trailer I did not like. Not because I don't like the game, only the way it was put together. Horrible choice of music, weird editing and too much old footage.

I'm not complaining about the game, which I'm very much looking forward to, but I think SCEA could have done a better job at this. The other GT5 trailers are in a completely different league. Liked the customization mention though. Hopefully another trailer and/or demonstration will be shown at the conference.

It's just dumb that it contained footage of the "old" Nurburgring, when they've already shown the new one. This is clearly a trailer they've had knocking around for a bit.

But the music....man, as someone with a education in music production, I know people have diverse music tastes, but that music was a shambles :lol
Terrible choice.

But not to the extent found currently found in "other games".
We know this, but im just wondering why people are excited at the term customization since you essentially customize the parts of the cars in the game, so its nothing new.

I dont get it, what is new about Customization? You could customize the shit out of every car in every GT released....?
body kits. it's been known since that big gt5 press con.

Because it's usually been termed as tuning, rather than customization.

Customization, to me at least, could mean livery editors, body panel changes, etc. And since Kaz already said cars are constructed from individual parts, it's makes it more believable that certainly the latter could happen.

Tuning is different to customization. Livery editor will be the shit!

I've always held the belief that customization is an integral part of any racing game.
It basically acts as a game within a game, countless hours of mixing 'n' matching parts and then tuning the performance aspects to get the most out of the vehicles... pure bliss!

i think they just put something together real fast of old footage so they could keep GTTV happy and build some hype to blow everybody away on E3 with a onstage live demo

It's marketing people, customization could mean anything. I can't believe people are reading this much into a word that was added by the SCEA marketing dept.
