GT5 Patch 1.05 - Kaz listens! Online XP/Cr, Removable HUD, Offline Mech Damage!

Good on PD. Hopefully they'll still be releasing patches and DLC into 2012. I much prefer this strategy to biyearly releases.
 
Hey, is the fact that shared photos (your own and you in-game friends') can now be viewed on gran-turismo.com a new thing, or has that been there all along?

Unfortunately, they don't seem to get uploaded in full res. Here's one of mine (originally 1080p):

It's always been there, and you can't hotlink them. You can also get a bigger version if you click the download icon (still not full res, but pretty decent)
 
This is one unbelievably game-saving update for me. I was really getting frustrated with the level grinding but wow I am LOVING this. Cant wait to try some of these new seasonal events.

wait what? I re-read the patch info...how does it effect lvling up?
 
Just finished the Polyphony Digital Cup in B Spec. I used to get about 150,000 cr for finishing first in all three races and winning the championship. Now I get about 315,000 cr.

Fantastic.

Holy shit!

Bravo PD. It takes some other devs months to make these kinds of changes. When you consider how long it took PD to actually make the game, I'm surprised they are updating it so quickly.
 
Ok something happened. I got five paint items for logging in "today" just now. So, after finishing a race, i went back to the menu and got another five paint item for logging in "today". Where i come from, the clock just hit midnight. Seems like you get five paints for logging in every day now?
 
Don't forget you can now repeat the races without going back to the track selection menu. So no loading screens between races. This makes grinding so much faster.
 
I went into GTLife and unlocked a bunch of tracks. Seemes like I've got them all now, was missing the Nurburg 24hr variations until today.

Did anyone else unlock tracks for just logging in?

Yeah I'm impressed. Hopefully the updates will continue to be directly related to feedback.
 
so glad that patching is an option on (non wii) consoles this gen so we can get these quick improvements, and happy that polyphony digital want to make sure their fans - the people who bought the game - get a better experience. kinda like the idea being floated around about pd just keep updating gt5 this gen with updates and dlc so they can leave gt6 till the ps4 and get it out early next gen.
 
Am I the only one getting the feeling that PD had been working on this content all along and Sony was like, no, you are releasing the game now. That being said, this update is all sorts of awesome.

Spent a good time yesterday golding the amg events to unlock the nurbur24H circuit.
Now you get it for free!!!

That's probably it because PD usually takes months to do anything.

I don't think you need to gold them. Just get a trophy in them. I unlocked it before the patch and I didn't gold all of them, just gold in some silver in others.

We have no proof, but I bet that Kaz had every intention of stretching the Nov. 2 delay into next year, but someone higher up said "no".

I just did the Indy and SS5 events. 5 laps against AI, style of licenses but no penalties for any nonsense.

Yes. I also got a gift car. It seems they lowered the requirements for some rewards (tracks and cars).
 
Oh wow that's an awesome patch. I've dumped GT waiting for some time trials or save game hacks. The time trials sound very limiting in the patch though, do you at least get credits for it? How many more credits do you get on a spec events with this patch?
 
You know what I don't understand...why the hell do they give you a ticket to redeem for a car only when you leave the A-Spec menu? It seems slow and unnecessary. Why not show the car once the last event of a series has been beat?
