Launch the current-gen version and then when the new consoles release a year or so later, re-release it then.

Not surprised at all, and might as well delayed it to next gen cause the game already looks super impressive. Add to the fact that it's not only a huge big game but also having to process all those npcs, vehicles etc on screen to make everything work and you won't get the full experience on the current console gen.

Hopefully they'll change their mind and releases it on PC day one too.

The more likely scenario is they'd rather deal with the press surrounding the protest than the delay, so they're taking advantage of it.

If people yelling outside of your office for 1 day delays your project by 6 months, then you have bigger problems.
