I'll ask the same question I asked regarding GTAIII: are the controls any better than the console version? The one reason I haven't played through any GTA game is because I absolutely can't stand the controls. Haven't tried the PC versions yet though.

I never had a problem with gta's console controls, but this game obviously had to make compromises to work on touch screens.

It's something I can get used to though.

No, the controls aren't better than the console version. I mean, how could they be? It's using a touch screen instead of a controller.

That said it is perfectly playable, I beat the helicopter bombing mission first try, actually the onscreen buttons almost make the helicopter controls a bit more clear.
 
How do I start the vigilante missions when I'm in an ambulance, police car or taxi? I'm pressing the horn and no missions are activated.
 
I just did the first rc helicopter mission on my first try with like 3 minutes to spare. The touchscreen controls take getting used to, but they're not bad at all.

Even the clunky shooting and targeting that sucked on consoles is pretty easy now.
