Just look at PSN update threads and look at all the people with different bandwith and loading time. Oddly enough, they have the same machine and they all have broadband connection but yet their download times for a demo varies from 5 to 50 minutes wich is quite unconceivable if everybody was wired. Wireless is shit, most people can't set the color of a TV properly so don't even ask them to have a nice network at home with quality components. On Xbox it will be less of a problem and there probably will be less lag because most people are wired.

you're assuming everyone knows how to set up a wireless connection in the first place.......

They should just re-open the GTAIV Comparison Thread of Fail and Douchebaggery.

But this raises the deeper question of what resources Take-Two is obligated to provide. If online multiplayer only works half the time would that be okay? Do you feel that Take-Two would be reneging on their duty as a publisher if they didn't provide a smooth and reliable online multiplayer experience every time you log on or are we expecting too much from them?

I'd say GameSpy since its their servers. However if Take 2 doesn't get them to fix their shit and fast then its their fault also for not dumping their ass and going with someone else.

if i was able to pay $3 to "fix" this, i still wouldn't pay to play regular multiplayer. in my years of online gaming, minor downtime is not uncommon and isn't a huge deal to me.

XBL has been far from flawless from me tonight. Random matches sometimes get stuck on the loading screen and just sit there without loading the match. Or the screen you get when switching sides that says "Waiting For Players" sometimes never gets past that screen. I have to back out to the dashboard and load the game again. I can still talk to people on the mic when these loading screens are not going away and they are experiencing the same problems as I am so I know it is not just me.

There's two services; one is free and you can't have an avatar, post pictures, or even have access to basic HTML if I remember correctly. The other is the paid service where you have access to that and more forums to discuss stuff. Pretty shitty. It's why I left there and came here... I know Chubigans used to post there.
