MS doesn't have games that look anywhere near the level of what I'm seeing on PS3. That's my point. It's not even close.

I can see that perhaps given what was shown at E3, one could perhaps argue that. But there's a ways and means for doing it. Don't just be inflammatory for the sake of it.

Try it. I really want to see how you can spin this. The only thing holding back the PS3 is the lack of big titles which will be hitting by end of the year and the high price tag. If you showed off both systems to a consumer and asked which one they'd rather have, they'd pick the PS3 every single time.

It more than likely is already dual-layered, like how most 360 games already are as is... Unless, what you're talking about is Dual-layer-Dual-Sided, which is stupid, and you're just better off with 2 dual layer discs...

I think if devs start getting fed up with storage issues, it's going to end up with MS shooting itself in the foot this gen, and be the last straw... We'll see this fall how big of a difference the extra storage space makes i guess, and if it's significant this early into the life of next-gen gaming, it's not going to end up pretty...

What is so fanboyish about me not being pleased with the idea of paying $200 for an HD-DVD player that adds nothing new to the system.

You offer a Core system with no HDD and developers now are limited to making games that work on non-HDD systems. It's gimped right off the bat. Now we have the issue of DVD space and developers now have to keep game size in check. These are all things that keep the games from being what they should be.

Um, don't buy the add-on then? We knew that no games would take advantage of the add-on before it came out.

The Core is holding back X360 games, but guess what, it's also going to hold back a great many PS3 games as well cause most games are targeted for the Core X360.

Of course GT5 will sell tons of hardware, but by the time the damn game is out it will be down in price to the point where people might actually consider. If GT5 had launched with the console it wouldnt have had a very big impact on sales because of the price. Regardless of how good it looks. A) Buy a 360, happy for a few weeks; learn about reliability crisis. Become afraid of turning on X360, or using it with Forza 2.

B) Gripe endlessly about the price of the PS3, but buy it eventually when the games and price drops to level of desirability. Play happily!

Unfortunately the price points for both the Wii and the Xbox 360 are all but guaranteed to remain under the price point of the PS3 to the remainder of this generation. that's probably going to be a hindrance as well.
