Guess Atlus USA's next game reveal

Yes, as SRPGs go, Growlanser's like nothing else.

And god, you'll hate yourself trying to get some of those Mission Completes in Growlanser II & III. I assume IV is equally vile.

Well, for anyone who wants to look and skip searching for the covers, Play-Asia's page for Growlanser IV and Gungnir's Wikipedia page.

I'm inclined to think Growlanser, those colors are way more prevalent on that cover and it matches those wings or whatever the character on the bottom has on her back.

Edit I'm beaten! Half beaten anyway, but with it THAT small it could easily be from an obscure corner on Gungnir's.

I can see why some people might be getting angry or impatient, but I think this whole thing is hilarious. Hopefully the next clue is even more vague than this one.
 
I hope Growlanser IV is better than V. It would have soured me on the series forever if it was the only Growlanser I had played and hadn't loved II so much.

At least they're doing it much better than Namco Bandai!

The next clue should be a site, much like Namco Bandai's site for Tales of Vesperia PS3 Graces f.
 
so what? is it really Grownlanser? I have to be honest here, I really want Gungnir since I've been anticipating it earlier this year. I was just disappointed at Atlus not announcing it back in E3. For Grownlanser however, I know nothing about the series except for the character artist. But I really don't mind, Ive always wanted to try the series anyway...

That's what I thought at first too. Though there's a bit of pink near the title of Gungnir too and on the loli's inner sleeve.

And two more clues? Sheesh.
 
They could also be from the sleeve of the shirt worn by the guy on the right side of Gungnir's cover now that I take a look at it zoomed in.

It does seem like it'd go either way now rather than be both unless Atlus took the only 25 pixels both shared.

Well, let's just say I'm really really bored.

There's a position match on Growlanser's cover. The color's a bit off, though. Atlus' clue is a bit darker. The darker spot on the below image is Atlus' clue. But the light spot almost meshes perfectly, probably would have been even more flush had I shifted one pixel to the right.

The color seems more akin to Gungnir though, the man's sleeve like Eusis indicated. Dunno if anyone want to take a stab at that, I tried and couldn't get a position match (I was near the title).

The sad thing about this clue is that officially debunks it being both, which means either way this goes they are gonna have some ire pointed at them.

If it is the case that Atlus is only announcing one of them, I'm kind of surprised that they'd tease the other franchise's fans like this. It's obvious that they're making the comparison on purpose. Anything other than both sort of comes off as a little bit mean spirited.

I don't know about that. I bet it fits on Gungnir's cover art too. Though I think we can say that at least you Growlanser fans should be getting what you want. :)

II is my favorite in the series. But I've only played II, III, and V, so...



Also, V is considered the worst by a mile. So don't let Heritage of War sour you.
(That said, it's still a good game, just not amazing like the rest.)

And if you're new to Growlanser: jump on IV or go buy Generations. It's like $24.99 for two of the best SRPGs ever. (And I paid $89.99 for the LE. Happily.)
 
2 is much more of a "traditional SRPG" in terms of structure, so I wouldn't really look to it when trying to judge whether you'd like 4.
