Halo 5 Guardians Multiplayer Beta Gameplay Trailer

I don't prefer anything. I'm all for the H5 beta. It was my main motivator to getting MCC.

That doesn't diminish the fact that Halo:MCC is still broken (to paying customers), and now they'll focus on moving forward with Halo 5. Ideally...why not fix what's broken first, before moving on to something new? Just sayin'.

Anyway, carry on.

They've been focusing on Halo 5 since well before MCC released.

There were 4 other teams working on MCC outside of 343. 343 likely had a small internal team dedicated to the game, who will still be dedicated to that game.

Haven't you heard? According to 343, Halo MCC is working for US players now, it's only Australia having problems with the game. See below:

The following was just posted in the other thread. A comment made by a 343 employee on reddit:

"Hey Sosd, we're aware that non-US players, especially AUS players, are still seeing Matchmaking difficulty. Can you PM me your gamertag? I'll have the team take a look.
If you're reading this and have what you believe to be gamertag-specific Matchmaking issues (i.,e. you're having an issue but your friends are not), please feel free to reply to this comment or PM me with gamertag and issue, with details of which playlist(s) are affected. I'll get the info over to the team, which will help with debugging and investigation."

What a complete and utter joke. I can't believe they actually have the audacity to come out and say that.
I'm lucky enough to have Google fiber, and h2a, h2c,h4, and hce is still unplayable for me. The only game that works well is h3. As of this moment in time, 343 is going down as the worst developer in recent memory as far as im concerned. I dont want anyone to lose there job, but I hope Microsoft pulls the plug on that joke of a development team. Here I was thinking jaleco, or thq were the worst developers of my time. Silly me.

Sabre Interactive and Certain Affinity are on the box as well.

Point redacted then.

Still responding to the other person. 343 are the "guardians" of the Halo name. They decided to outsource it and had final say on the quality of the MCC.

Still frustrating that preview members get in early. I've had this thing preloaded since it was up for preload and had to deal with a fixed multi-player, toss me a xbone. Oh well, I have Xur and my MCC that still kicks me to play list selection to get me through.

I'm still going to play the hell out of the beta provided it functions properly.

Wait...

... after all the shit I've put up with with MCC - and with it STILL not working - I don't even get in the first wave of the beta?

lol

I'm sure there are talented artists, programmers, project leads etc at 343. The people that need to be fired are the people making the executive decisions and doing project management.

Great way to take things out of context. He didn't say that US players aren't having problems anymore.

Fucking 343i, this shit doesn't even resemble Halo anymore. Itt's like a loosely cobbled together hodgepodge of TitanFall, Advanced Warfare and Destiny all thrown together to appease the widest audience possible. Ground pound, ADS, shoulder charge, smart scope, and hovering/jet-packs really? At least give us veterans a classic mode with none of that nonsense, not that any of it matters 343 can't really be trusted after the MCC launch fiasco.

How so? Especially Australian users? Seems to me like everyone has it equally bad. What he's saying may not be explicit, but it sure as hell sounds like he's implying that those of us in the US have a stable game. And so what if we have a marginally more stable game? What does it even matter if the game is so fundamentally broken.

It's what happens when you stop listening to the community that made your game so popular in the first place, and reappropriate the franchise to sell to a younger demographic. It's all target demo, focus groups, and big data to the decision makers at Microsoft.

Yep. Fucking blows.

I hope this franchise doesn't lose its MP identity. I would like Halo to be distinctly Halo. I don't want it to be mistaken for CoD or Titanfall or Destiny at a glance.

A) Fuck "Its all about winning"; which btw, have we heard anything about vehicles?

B) I still can't believe that with all the hate of this or that - people are not more WTF about the announcer stuff.

I'm happy to see Halo evolve. It's a shame that it has done so quite poorly, however.

Claiming that adopting ADS, sprint, or other "modern" mechanics is desperate or shortsighted is silly. Playing a shooter without those mechanics for most people feels retro and odd. The only reason Halo fans can still make these complaints is because the MCC is such an abortion, rather than the solution to "we want the same thing you gave us back in the day!"

Halo 5 looks awesome. It's focused on competitive arena gameplay which has always been its strength. Can't wait.

promethean weapons coming back? Or they just including everything from past halos to be addable to maps?

Remember when the first bits of info came out about Halo 5 and they were hyping "everyone starts with the same loadout", "classic multiplayer gameplay", etc.

Now it's all promethean bullshit, ground pound, powerslide, and e-sports. They have no idea what they're doing with this franchise. I seriously think that there is someone at the top level who is doing an awful job conducting focus groups and completely misreading whatever big-data they have regarding the typical Xbox one user.

You do realize that promethean weapons are pickups right? Everyone does start with the same loadout, that hasn't changed.

In my book it resembles Halo. Maybe not the Halo that we use to know but more complex and competitive one. From all the reviews I seen from the beta in LA they mention that Ground pound can be very hard but very rewarding if done right. It's not like you can run in front of someone and ground pound. As for the cosmetics ADS, it looks different.

Give it a try and not judge it by the videos we have seen.

Everybody has the all the same stuff as everybody else. Nothing is locked away.

When they initially pitched "everyone starting with the same loadout" a lot of people, including myself were hoping that this implied there wouldn't be any more of this jetpack, ground pound, sprinting etc. Obviously we shouldn't have assumed that, but that's what we hoped.

Ugh, well guess we'll hafta see how the beta plays, but I'm mostly in it for Forge and custom games now

None of that stuff has anything to do with loadouts though.

It's been known for a full month that everyone starts with thrusters, ground pound and sprint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k96NK5moXyg Are you just finding out about this now? Everyone is on equal ground at the start of the match.

But everybody does start with the same loadout. Hell, loadouts are gone.

Again, I'm not arguing that it hasn't been known for months that there are thrusters, ground pound etc. I'm just saying that the original hope was that they learned from the mistakes of Halo 4 and returned to what made Halo CE, 2, and to some extent 3 good games.

I'm not saying that I didn't know all of this, I'm just saying that when the game was revealed it sounded like they were returning to Halo's roots. Not continuing the trend that was started with the recent Halo games. Yes, "everyone starting with the same load out" means a specific thing, I'm aware of that. I'm just saying that there were higher hopes before we all found out about all of these unnecessary agilities including sprint.

We knew all of that was in there at the same time they said the stuff about the loadouts. Quit trying to make shit out of nothing.

You're right. I felt the same way when they were originally talking about it.

Your first mistake was associating loadouts with those sorts of features. Actually, scratch that, your first mistake was assuming that stuff wasn't going to be in the game, considering literally the FIRST information we got about the Halo 5 beta was a CGI trailer featuring shoulder charge, sprint, sliding, and ground pounding, lol

They're base player traits. Equal starts; no unfair advantage. The question will be how do they play, hence the beta.

Have the Halo MP trailers of yore always been this bro-y? Jesus fuck, I hope Master Chief doesn't pop a Mountain Dew bottle in the campaign.

Managed to pre-order this game for free during Best Buy B2G1 deal, can't wait. Played Halo a bit back when I was in grade school, I have MCC and plan to play 1-4 during Winter Break. Going to be fun.
