This looks really cool, what's with all the hate on this trailer...
After the MCC launch you're assuming multiplayer will work? That's brave.
People like the old games and when they see something new they freak out.

Why did they even bother saying they were going back to the roots a few months back? They're clearly not interested in that anymore, and after Halo 4, MCC and now... this, I'm not interested in Halo either. Oh well.

Well, when I asked, Frankie implied that while the option to use classic scopes will not be in the beta, there's still a chance it will be in the final game. So I'll keep asking for it, and hope for the best.
That said, having to beg for the option to use the classic scope in a Halo game is just crazy.

It's not so much the words themselves, I remember them from the old games, the announcer just seems to have this long drawn out way of saying them that's pretty annoying. It felt like a was watching a monster truck derby.

That's probably the point. Honestly, I think it has to do with balancing the weapon.
I think the worst part of seeing that weapon is knowing that knights are probably coming back.

I do have to say, after watching quite a few of Greenskull's videos, and this trailer, Halo 5 is looking to be a blast to play.
But I'll withhold proper judgement until after I've played. I was once excited over Halo 4's Multiplayer and listened to 343i's words of, "trust us".

So based on even that short history, I"m gonna say that from a functionality perspective, Halo 5 will work 100%.

Don't blame yourself. No one expected 343i to destroy the gameplay of a long running franchise with established gameplay elements.
I don't think you can guarantee anything now of days.

I don't understand how I am derailing the thread. You literally need to own Halo MCC in order to play this beta. I'm also not buying that this is anything other than advertising for the Halo franchise as a whole. Sure they might be able to fix some networking issues by doing this sort of "beta" but ultimately this is just a gimmick to get people to buy both MCC and Halo 5.
Not this weekend you don't.
If you're in the preview program. The majority of people will get in with the MCC.

If Halo 5 has issues (full game), I've officially given up on 343 and pretty much Halo at that point.
I mean, a beta is a beta. It's supposed ot have issues. Although even the Beta I suspect will go surprisingly smoothly.

That light rifle ADS doesn't look nearly as intrusive as the DMR's. It looks like the old Halo zoom, only with some junk around the corners of the screen. The DMR, and the other hind, obscures a ton of valuable screen real estate in the middle of the screen.

Yeah I'll be buying an Xbox One when this game drops. Halo 4 is my favourite of the series at least in terms of Multiplayer outside of Halo CE so I'll be back for this.

People defending 343/Microsoft for shipping a game that doesn't work. Promoting a game that doesn't work. Tying in a "beta" with a game that doesn't work with the hopes of selling the sequel too.
Here are the common excuses in these threads from the people who continue to defend Microsoft/343:
1. They're either claiming that the game works fine, which is fantastic if it's true... but for myself and the people that I play matchmaking with I have a hard time believing this is true.
2. Getting into a semantic argument about which subsidiary studio of Microsoft should actually be blamed for the failure.
3. Explaining that businesses are allowed to advertise because they have an interest in making money, and using it as an excuse for all of the anti-consumer stuff that is unfortunately common place in the videogame industry these days.
The only legitimate excuse that I see are those who are having a lot of fun playing the campaign missions. Which are pretty much stable, especially if you're playing solo.
Again, I don't think it's possible to decouple the advertising of this "beta" from the truly awful experience that has been the MCC.

Look, I'll stop talking about it. I don't want to get banned again for being "a hostile jerk." I truly believe that the MCC is part of this conversation, and if people just want to focus on how cool or not-cool gameplay decisions seemingly are based on this trailer I suppose I will just shut up and leave everyone alone.
