Halo 5 Launch Day Multiplayer Playlist Revealed

They still look pretty similar to me honestly, the Rigs architecture is alot of grates, grey walls, and pipes, same with Fathom,Empire, and Eden. Sure they all have different themes and such, but the architecture and the color palette of objects are all very samey. It especially is disappointing to me since there are some great areas from the campaign that we've seen that could easily have maps themed after them (desert map on Sanghelios, snow on Kamchatka, gloomy Alien-esque vibe on Argent moon)

No doubt in my mind that we'll be seeing maps taking place on those regions. And at least one of them will be a Warzone map.

So they're unnecessary? Why is that a reason not to have them then?

I think Killcams would increase average skill. People would learn your tricks.

Don't want people learning my tricks in match... If I take up a position that confuses or surprises someone, I don't want that surprise ruined by killcam

People should just watch the post game replay of they want to learn the tricks

WTF. BTB is fun BECAUSE you can dick around in vehicles and do crazy shit
ha i'm not saying there shouldn't be a BTB playlist for screwing around; but it was nice when there was also a ranked playlist too. I think warzone will fill the itch for people wanting to screw around and just have fun. So if 343 ever does introduce a ranked BTB, it would be a win-win I think.

Ranked BTB was cool, but it was also the playlist that ended attempts to save playlists with more rewards (Double XP, back then) because the population fell apart and DEXP didn't do anything to help it out.

The issue you run into ranked BTB is you're trying to match up 16 different people's skill levels and trying to get good close skilled games out of it.. and add in the fact that you could (to use a H3 example) have a 15, 20, 7, 45, 50, 50, 50, 32 all on the same team meant people would get destroyed and never come back because the lower ranks would pick up lower level randoms.

If you ever looked at the skill spread right before they took it down the playlist was basically levels 40-50 and another island of 15-25.

Honestly, when Big Team Battle launches I don't see it being Ranked. If they do make it a Ranked playlist, then they will probably have to do some tweaking to how it matches people of similar skill.

IIRC the math for Ranked BTB to figure out proper skill levels is something like 170+ games.

for 4v4 it was around 30, which is why Reach Arena withheld your division until you had played a minimum number of games.

Needless to say, not many people are going to trudge through 170 games to start getting properly skilled matches :V

I do remember the BTB player population being super small. I dont have a solution to the issue of matching 16 players, and recognize that it might be hard to find a solution. Gotta bring back clans!! ;-) I think I made it to 32 in BTB before rankings were removed, so I was probably just high enough to consistently get grouped with more serious or dedicated players.

Theater mode is perfect for this, but kill came in Halo just hurt overall play because, like you said, it gives secrets that should stay secret while playing that game.
