More news about Halo Infinite!

Black Undersuits confirmed (again) for Infinite, they pointed out what black undersuits specifically mean ("All parts of armor that isn't the metal pieces" (paraphrase)) and that the art department (sparth) is well aware of the high demand for black undersuits

Halo Infinite will have Halo Reach Inspired Player Customization, Brian acknowledged that many fans view reach's customization as the best iteration and said fans of reach's customization will be pleased

Halo Infinite Slipspace engine was developed with PC in mind (different hardware combinations ETC), and that PC will be "treated as a first-class citizen", but that halo PC flighting programs may come later than the other flights, due to technical challenges with developing for PC. AntiCheat for PC was already confirmed earlier this year.

Players who reach level 152 in Halo 5 will receive a special reward in Halo: Infinite

Halo Infinite will have (4) player splitscreen. They've been successfully testing this with their new engine.

Slipspace Engine is not completely made from scratch, elements from previous Halo's were used

In response to requests for more customization in Halo 5 (new armor/emblems/etc) 343 guys said that they were "running out of things to add to Halo: 5" - seems like they want to wind down development on Halo: 5 and focus full-time on infinite.

Flighting Programs for Infinite will start small but over time will have more and more players, will be opt-in, and will be happening right up to release. I would assume these would start Late 2019. They'll likely have public beta testing in 2020.

343 are in the process of starting a Halo: Infinite Pro Team, but they insisted they want Infinite to be approachable by all skill levels, and by players new and old.

Great news. I've played co-op campaign with my friend through all the halos. The lack of splitscreen in Halo 5 totally broke with tradition and caused great upset : )

The thing with Halo 5 is that they made a lot of promises about going back to the roots etc... but it was a lot of buzzwords with no substance

The way they’re dealing with infinite is much different, specifically responding to issues that a lot of the halo community had issues with. Split screen, black under suits, halo reach customization, mentions of none micro transaction related customization

All I’m hoping is that they announce the removal of sprint and we good (or at the very least address it)

I'm genuinely curious about what they're gonna do with the sprint/spartan abilities. It seems like those are the prime features which separates modern Halo from classic Halo (of course there are others, but in terms of the core gameplay experience).
I can't decide what I would rather have. I do love the classic feel of Halo 1 - 3, but also thoroughly enjoy the fast paced modern Halo. God dangit.. da halo lyfe is hard.

...thinks mods should get a real job.

It says splitscreen not coop.

That’s something people say they want in a halo. Couch split screen. That’s what I gather from this

Is flighting program a fancy new term for beta or early access?

Can’t wait for this! This extra wait is making me more and more hyped for the game.

Oh yeah, sorry you're right. If a mod can change the title, go ahead. Typo from my side.

Sprint always seems to be the bur is classic halo fan's sides. I don't care about it or the Spartan abilities in 5 because 5's multiplayer IS hands down the best the series has ever had. However, they could probably satisfy a lot of classic fans by removing Sprint altogether. I would say to counter act Sprint being removed, just increase the base movement speed by something like 50% maybe.

For me at least, an increase in movement speed wouldn't really replace sprint as a mechanic. It'd be the same as just getting rid of it because sprint is meant as a trade off in offense for speed. Spartan Charge is a weird next step from sprint that I would not mind seeing dropped though.

Spartan Abilities as a whole are definitely one of my favorite evolutions of Halo's gameplay though. Add a toggle for them like they already have in Infinite and I think they're good to go. Not sure if they might need tweaks though.

I think Ground Pound could be better off if it only killed when directly hitting a player and then sending anyone else flying based on how close they are (Vehicles included hehehe). That and also dont make the ground pound stop when you hit someone mid air. That Just feels wrong.

Yes and no. I think of a beta as a one-time period where people try out the game pre-release. Flighting is more than that, and it starts much earlier than what you would expect from early access. Flighting is essentially a continuous play-testing process where people who sign up for it get to tryout and play new builds of the game as they become available, whenever 343 decides they're ready to have people test the game. That's I how i view it anyway. They did it with the Master Chief Collection updates recently and there were several builds that insiders could download and try out at various times.
