Halo |OT10| The Calm Before The Storm

An ancient evil awakens refers to Cortana is my guess. I imagine she will make sweet passionate A.I sex with the forerunners, and make evil Cortana of doom!

Halo 5 will have Chief going back to Earth or wherever to find the second A.I Hasley built, because if I remember right from her journal there was Cortana and one other.
wat is this post

.EDIT IMO it looks like a human skull, based on info about the Forerunners it would be odd they have so similar skull. Need a clear picture of it, from multiple angles to say for sure of course.
Oh, come ON

In accordance with my position as newsman, I had to go watch this.

The CW episode viewer is the worst piece of shit on the web - in a 43 minute episode, there are 5 non-skippable commercial breaks, each with half a dozen commercials. (I think you'd end up watching for longer than if you watched it on regular cable, without Tivo, if you watched the whole thing.) And if you want to skip to the end... you have to sit through EVERY SINGLE COMMERCIAL BREAK (including the one at the start - so 6 breaks, total).

To save you the astounding annoyance (because the 2-minute clip is ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH even the 2 minutes it takes to see it, much less the 20 minutes of advertising time required to get there), I've put the clip up here:

Excuse me while I go floss my brain.

FuD is definitely set in 2526. The news articles in the very first episode have time stamps on them that say "2526". Can't remember the months mentioned though.

Because of what you had to go through to see this clip, I'm going to try and memorize the scene verbatim and repeat it, or at least reference it, during the MLG Fall Championship live stream. <3

Ok everyone, lets look at a basic human vs Promethean Knight Skull comparison. Just check out the nasal for example.

The eye sockets are pushed in and the nose part is a lot different compared to a human skull.

It is indeed a Forerunner skull, not a human one.

The series is so good, I'm bummed out that it will end in just 2 more episodes.. Frankie please try to make a Halo TV show happen (HBO style.. like Rome or Band of Brothers).

I'm in 100% disagreement.

The trailer sheds light on ...

That's why I'm excited for Halo 4's campaign.
You'll have plenty of time to watch jtag Halo 4 gameplay now.
Still 99% dark but what a wonderful page to happen to get a peek at (not even watching FUD until right before i play the Campaign).

The 1% (yet to be released footage) i did happen to see was glorious!

Saw the Launch Trailer, loved the flashbacks but the part when they are giving him the armor,it was a little confusing because they were actually giving him his "new" armor instead of his old armor right?. And finally they showed
The Didact?
for everyone?

That actually is a fair point, that was his old armour :/

As for the guy scanning Chief, yup, that's the Didact.

No, because then it will have copious amounts of sex and nudity that does nothing for the plot.

Bear in mind, 2 more episodes means around 40 minutes of nothing but action. Quite frankly I was expecting the fighting to kick in later.

Thanks for reading! Possibly 40 minutes. This episode was only about 16 minutes it was shorter than the rest. It'd be great if the next 2 are a little longer to compensate. I know the next 2 will be awesome, and I've liked the first 3, I just felt like it got to this point a little too slowly.

I thought, above all, the trailer showed 343's dedication to fiction. Something Bungie had, but not a deep dedication to in marketing, etc.

Making their first launch trailer one that showed fiction over a "fuck yeah" action-filled sequence (although it had some of that) shows me that the game will have a level of fiction we did not see in Bungie games necessarily.

It really showed they feel great enough about the game to make a trailer about fiction, and not something to try to make non-Halo fans (necessarily) buy the game.

Here's what I don't understand (I decided to quote you, but I'm replying to an aggregate of posts I've noticed). People are saying hinting at John's past in the trailer means that 343 is committed to narrative, etc etc. One of the ads did that for Halo 3, and nothing of that sort was ever covered in the game. One of the Reach ads also did a similar Spartan transformation for Carter to what was shown in here. Live Action/CGI ads in Halo and other games have a track record of showing something that is never covered in the actual game.

That is why those ads do nothing for me. As a gamer, that ad just promotes Halo as a brand, it doesn't give me a reason to play the game. Hopefully the in-game trailer is great, and the ad spots pulled from it are plentiful and really show off the game itself, because it's a gorgeous game, with from what I've seen, some damn nice cinematography. Highlighting that with some dialogue that shows people this is a cinematic and narrative experience that you have to have is what will move copies.

Just watched Forward Unto Dawn Part 2 (never got around to it), solid episode, although it annoys me and strikes me as cliché when every person in the show seems to believe that Lasky is predestined to be some amazing soldier just because of his parents.

Band of Brothers, Carnivale, and Deadwood are examples of great HBO series that *don't* do that. (Yes, there's more in Deadwood but it's not really the same type of presentation as in Rome, True Blood, others.)

1) FUD was awesome today. Action-packed episodes seem MUCH shorter.

2) the strip Halo 4 i dont even

3) gonna be doing a huge giveaway of all of the Halo 4 extras from the NYCC party probably tonight and posting tomorrow. VOTE shirts, posters, and flyers, MEGA BLOKS of all flavors and sizes, pins, etc. You can thank @alisonst for providing these excellent goodies!

BoB was the only series I liked on HBO. I kinda like GoT too, but the sex in every episode ruins it.

So we need a Stephen Ambrose narrative inspired look into the Halo universe with Tom Hanks as creative oversight?

I'm sure that has something to do with it because of his mom and brother, but its also because of his actions. He doesn't just aim to kill and he questions why he is doing things. He thinks differently and its clear in his battle tactics. He shows good leadership, its not just his lineage or whatever.

He hasn't shown good leadership at all prior to the end of that second episode, quite the opposite actually. He's acted rebellious and arrogant towards the chain of command, and made some clearly stupid decisions in the field.
Pretty much every episode? I mean it's not as bad as True Blood, Spartacus (Starz) and others, but it's pretty constant except for a chunk in the second season.

'Twas a joke lol.

Notice the avatar.

Curious, could the Katana in Halo 3 be stuck/shot?
It can definitely be stuck, not sure about being shot. Probably.

I can say, he is probably right, the episode is just fantastic nerdgasm.
woohoo!

complaining about too much nudity, what the hell is wrong with you young people. Back in my day, scrambled porn was a thing we had to contend with and we powered through it!!
