Kilo-Five is very readable, but suffers from seeming to take a b-line regarding some characters and changes the canon. Forerunner is good but definitely not as popcorny as the other books, they read like more serious and esoteric sci-fi. The second book in Forerunner (Primordium) has a big long middle section of not much plot, then suddenly shifts gears near the end where a ton of stuff happens.
Don't forget to pick up Halo Evolutions!
edit: Seriously one of the books I've read the fastest. That's usually how I tell how much I enjoyed a book lol

I'm sorry to just barge into this thread but I need some help. I currently trying to get back into halo and feel that the extended lore would be a good place to start. However I want to know is there a timeline for all the comic, books, games, and movies? If it was answered in the OT im sorry but I have a slow connection and those images were sure as hell not loading. Also when it comes to the book Halo Evolutions (The one with the short stories) do I need to get the original or the new print that is two separate volumes? This seemed like the best place to ask.

I really need to make a HaloGAF family tree. Also, real pic talk: anyone else guess right on some of the users here? Kittens has been public with his appearance for a while, but Speedy looks spot on for what I expected. Zoojoo to an extent, too.
On the flip side, Ora, Gui and Fracas look nothing like what I had in mind.
But that's probably not Gui.

And Ozzy, I saw your comment on the page. I don't think Gabotron is releasing it to the wild at the moment because it's not finished. So we're just going to play it in customs and then I suppose he can tweak it some more. This will be the first time the gametype is played in a real customs party.
Yep you had host (changed after you left) as well still want to play? I'm surprised i wasn't booted after killing the guy who wanted my sniper rifle.
It's not that much most of it's on there, anyway if you understood halo 4 you should be fine

Yup, there's a HUGE difference between fooling around with two controllers while on splitscreen and a proper custom lobby and testing the gametype with a bunch of randoms was a no no since I don't want an early version leaking into the wild.
Speaking of Sabotage, what map do you guys think will work best? I'm thinking about 2 rounds of One Sided Sabotage on Ragnarok.

Ugh, Reach multiplayer
Ok, so I don't actually own Reach, so when I finally got Gold (to get 3 for free), I downloaded the demo to see how horrible the multiplayer was, since everybody says that about it.
So running around, and I'm really liking the grenade launcher and all that, and at first I'm like "Hey, this isn't so bad. Feels like Halo 3, just without the cinder block on the end of my gun." So then I pick up a DMR. I'd played a bunch of the campaign in Reach before, and I liked the DMR so I'm thinking this'll be good, and it was, until I round a corner to see another dude with a pistol.
Should be easy right?
So I shoot him in the head, and nothing happens, so I shoot him again, and again, and again, and over and over moving all over the place, trying to dodge him until eventually "so and so has killed you." I'm like....the hell? Meh, maybe just a hacker. I've run into those before. (that was woefully optimistic), so I keep playing, and every match I'm shooting dudes in the head, in the chest and all over and only getting minimal damage, all the while thinking I just need to get the hang of it, since I liked the gun otherwise.
I was so dumb.
On a completely unrelated note, I know everybody was shitting on MS for putting cheap games like A World of Keflings on the Games with Gold thing, but.....I'm actually really enjoying AWoK right now. I don't even know why. I definitely would never have tried it otherwise, so I'm actually really glad they did that.
Look up and watch Halo Legends Origins Part 1 and 2 if you need a basic primer. The rest is nitty gritty details, really.
Guy was literally on sniper all game. Not moving from where it spawned. I got booted again. My fault that time, but he was horrid with it and failing to contribute to the team whatsoever.
I'm done for the night I think. 343 should seriously add a killzone around the sniper spawns on Hemorrhage.

Depends on how big of a lobby you get. 6v6 to 8v8, Ragnarok or Harvest would be good choices. Smaller than that and you should probably do something like Solace or Monolith.

Forgot about the DLC maps lol, I guess I'll buy the Majestic map pack tomorrow morning.
Thankfully I added a Generator Resistance option so I can tweak how much damage they can take

Well it is pretty rude. Regardless of what you think of their business practices, it's still their store and taking business out form right under their noses in their store is a bit uncalled for, IMO.

Great I just put my Halo 2 disc in to test for LAN, that disc has seen some heavy use, and it's fucked!!! Doesn't load and then I read this post. Ugh salt in the wound. I need to find a Halo 2 copy today. Uh oh.

I added an option to VIP Escort so that if a VIP's timer hits zero they explode like in Rush Slayer, only way to restart your timer is to reach your VIP destination.
Pretty crazy!
