Happy Birthday PS Vita Sale

Do I need to watch the SAO anime in order to enjoy the game?

I heard that you need to finish at least the first novel (don't know where the anime cuts this off).

I saw a lot of unfamiliar characters when I tried to play though, and I only read the first book.

You have to be familiar with the story/world at least to enjoy it I think

I wanna get Rorona, decided it's at a good enough price even if I backlog it.

I won't be home till 1:30AM PST, will I make it?

I might be able to add PSN $ from work and do it before.
Should be fine, usually you have until late morning/early afternoon PST to get the games.

Safest to buy NOW, mind, but it's a reasonable calculated risk to wait.

I believe the cutoff is the first 14 episodes.
Wasn't planning on buying the game myself but I watched the first ep and enjoyed the execution of the premise so I sprung on buying it.
Will watch the rest of that introduction arc play out in the show before diving into the game, though.

SAO or Tales of Hearts R? I've watched the first few episodes of SAO and like it so far, but not sure what to pick up :\ I've heard about the translation issues but it doesn't seem to be tooo bad.

I'd go with SAO, as long as you're fine with the poor translation. I feel like Tales can go lower.

Okay I'm looking at grabbing
Miku
Jet Set Radio
Atelier Meruru
Atelier Totori
Atelier Rorona
New Little King's Story
Cell Damage

Then either Sword Art Online or Hyperdimension Neptunia.

So far I am leaning heavier towards SAO because it looks like a pretty simple action RPG, although the little I saw of the anime did not hook me the real time fighting is probably a good change to the Atelier games and being an anime tie in I am hoping it is an easy going, not grind heavy game.

What do you all advise? SAO or Neptunia?

Never played any of the Atelier games, but I've always been interested, so I just downloaded the whole lot of them. 3 time-sink RPGs for less than $50? Sure, why not.

SAO is good, it's a massive grind though.

I just got a Vita 2 weeks ago, so this sale is a nice surprise. Got the 3 Atelier games. But I can't fit a single one on the 8GB memory card that came with the system with Borderlands 2. My body wasn't ready.

Okay... Final list of damages...

Tales of Hearts R
Hatsune Miku
Deception IV
Neptunia

And rounding out my last few dollars...

Orgarhythm
Dracula Chronicles X

82.45, had 2.10 left over... so just over $80... and there goes my gaming budget for the next 2 months. Pre-marriage this would have been my spending for one week... ahh the perils of marriage and children.

I broke... my backlog is huge... but when is the next time Rorona will be on sale? No clue... With that, my Atelier collection on Vita is now complete... And I'm not allowed to buy any more games for many months... Luckily I have the RPGs to see me through this most trying time...

So final damages... 98.44.

I hate really good sales... but with all of my complaining for months about how rarely vita RPGs go on sale in the US how could I not put my money where my mouth is?

So i can buy one final Game from the sale for <10 €.

But i can't really decide.

  • Assassins Creed 3 Liberation (Was thinking about trying an Assassins Creed Game, so why not this?)
  • Metal Gear Solid 2 HD Edition (I never played a Metal Gear Game, so i thought about starting with this one)
  • Metal Gear Solid 3 HD Edition (same as above)
  • Gravity Rush (played the Demo, and thought it was Fun)
  • Street Figher X Tekken (i love Fighting Games)
  • Killzone Mercenary (curiosity)
  • Child of Light (same as above)
  • Wipeout 2048 (same as above)

Those are Games i am intrested in, but i can only buy one of them, and it will be my final Gaming Purchase for this Month. So Vita-Gaf: Wich one should it be? Help me please :(

Didn't realize the EU sale was still going and that it had different games. If you're going to go with a Metal Gear game, 3 is a better start position than 2 is. 2 is a direct sequel to 1, 3 is a prequel and the earliest game in the series, therefore is a better overall starting point.

I haven't played Liberation, but I heard a lot of bad things about it, even as an asscreed game. Asscreed 4 on current and past gens are a better place to start if that's what interests you.

I'd go with Gravity Rush or Street Fighter.

If you like fighting games, then I guess SFxT is the safe choice. Gravity Rush would be my choice, though, followed by Killzone and Child of Light.

Thanks for Answering MGS3 is it then :)

Edit: Whoops, didn't saw the other replies. Its a Draw between Gravity Rush and Street Fighter, and i think in that case ill go with Gravity Rush. As i said, the Demo was great, so i think i will enjoy the full Game :)
