Can she fit in her old metal bikini? No? Then don't want.

Doesn't need to be. She was still alive at the conclusion of ROTJ and was with Luke and co. She was only in the metal bikini for probably 10-15 minutes over the course of 3 movies. She should be in it too, though I doubt they have any of them play a prominent role, except for Mark Hamill as Luke.

I think some people in this thread are overreacting. It's more than likely going to be handeled Mass Effect 2 style where we follow a new group of charecters on an adventure and along the way they run into people from the original. Like in the original Star Wars where Luke happens to run into Obi Wan in the desert.

Also, what interests me the most will be to see how their roles differ from how they were portrayed in the EU post ROTJ. They actually didn't become the big heroes you would have thought after the movie and instead Leia just becomes like a political aide to the President, Luke goes and forms a Jedi Academy without the republics permission, and Han basically just does errands for the government while doing light smuggling on the side. They also continue to get into trouble with the government and put on trial and shit which was strange since you would think most everyone would trust them after the trilogy.

Actually, the point of the Jedi forbidding personal attachments was portrayed as a flaw and was what led to their downfall. Had the Jedi council been more open to personal relationships, Anakin would been more able to cope with his fear of losing Padme and he might not have turned to the dark side.
I actually blame everything on Mace Windu being so shit at talking down Anakin. If he said "okay, help me watch him and we'll wait for more Jedi and talk this over, but in the meantime the dark side has strong powers to cause confusion in you" and whatnot, that little fight and his fall to the dark side may not have happened. But noooo Mace had to be all "HE HAS TO DIE NOW" when Anakin was clearly unstable and protective of him.

I think you're right. Seems pretty obvious this is a passing of the torch situation.

Does Disney think that this is what we want? Ford looks fine, but even still, just move on with the god damn universe.

Actually, no, don't. Pick up a few years after ROTJ, making all these actors too old to play their characters, and have Fassbender play Skywalker.

I'm pretty sure they're capable of being put on a workout regimen to hit a target appearance if they're being paid money to do it.

So you are saying these godlike men needed to fuck?

What I hope is that we get these 3 sequels and their dessicated old stars out of the way and then we can ditch them forever and get on with what everybody actually wants which is either a KOTOR or a Kyle Katarn movie.

They should delay it by two years so the actors can get some sort of record of reprising a character in the same movie series 40 years apart.

Haha. It's true. Epic blunder by Mace. But, to be fair, Yoda was an absolute idiot too. Two of the dumbest Jedi leading the pack.

Hmm. Old characters returning is not at all what I wanted out of these movies. I'll just keep telling myself it can't be worse than the prequels.

If I had to guess, I would assume the movie will be about their children...

Think about each trilogy... They are all focused on a single skywalker generation. I doub tthe third trilogy will be any different. These appareances by Luke, han and leia will likely be here and there cameo's

Yeah okay, after seeing that Carrie Fisher image up there I am fine with bringing back all 3. Seriously put the beard on Hamil though. I think he's the best actor of the bunch but the wrecked face (unfortunately) will be distracting otherwise. Plus the beard would fit his character while simultaneously being an homage to his master (Obi-Wan).

Makes sense. Toy Story 3 went for shameless appeal to nostalgia over a quality story, so this wouldn't be a surprise.

Yeah, because all the critical acclaim and millions of people weeping at the theater were clearly victims of a mass delusion.

In any case, could people stop imagining old actors playing young-actor roles? It's like everyone is imagining Ford with the same vest pretending only five years have passed. For all we know his character will be entirely different from the rogue smuggler since, you know, people change over 30 years. And Hammil can definitely still pull off a wise Jedi Master, just as Fischer could pull off a seasoned politician, just to give examples.

It could be a disaster, but it could work as well.

He can pull it off with style still, so HYPE!

As for the others, I hope they remain in supporting roles. Luke can come back, but I swear he would look better has some sort of fallen Jedi Sith elder guy now, haha.

It's really bad that we had to wait 32 years for a new Star Wars movie. They should use heavy makeup, prosthetics, and hair dye and have it take place right after ROTJ. That would be amazing.

Oh God, imagine new SW-movies with child actors again. The mess that was episode 1 all over again...

Luke wasn't a child in a new hope. and besides im sure they figured out how shitty that was to do since they time jumped "10 years" or so from phantom to attack. Or should they actually go with prominent child actors, hopefullyt hey can cast appropriately... Maybe likea Kodi Smit Mchpee or Chloe Grace Moretz. Both established child/teen actors by now.

Seriously, bro?

Are we talking about the same Star Wars?

Nice. Just get Carrie and Mark and we're set. Just get Mark a personal trainer. We need him in at least some shape out of all of them because we need a lightsaber fight out of him. Just enough to get a good showing. He doesn't need to doing what Anakin and Obiwan were doing in Revenge of the Sith. His fight should be more Yoda vs Emperor. Force powers left and right!

Please no Solo kids. Unless it's Anakin Solo.

I have faith that Abrams won't have them doing ridiculous stunts and actions. Their roles won't be any more different than with Nimoy's role in Abram's Star Trek. At the very least they'll be like what Obi-Wan was in A New Hope.

Lucas was an idiot. There were two very easy routes to take in the prequels.

1)Follow a very similar story to Luke's except that he takes the dark path instead of light or

2)Have him as an adult (late 20s-early 30s) through the whole trilogy he's already a full fledged Jedi and throughout the trilogy we see him dabbling in the dark side to handle situations eventually getting consumed by it.

But no Lucas apparently had a lobotomy and decided to write nonsense instead.

I'm not talking about then, I'm talking about now. Hamil has come a long way while Fisher turned to drugs and Ford has become old and awkward. I think all 3 have potential to prominently show their stuff again in this film but right now based on their recent works I think Hamil is the best.

Are you kidding me? Everybody loved Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker thats why the series became so popular. He was the Harry Potter of his time.

I understand his point though. At the time Hamil clearly wasn't a "great" actor. Ford certainly was. I think in recent years the table has flipped though.

Latino Review the leaders in Star Wars news. Sounds like they want some more hits.

Mark Hamill confirmed by Billy Jack's Little Webhole Hideout.

SHAM EDIT:
The scoop was broken on Fox News Latino by Umberto 'El Mayimbe' Gonzalez, of Latino Review, a superhero movie blogger with a record of gaining scoops on the world of superhero films, telling the cable network that it was a “done deal” that Ford would appear.

I don't want any child actors as main cast. I want my dark adult Star Wars. >:|

Ford will be fine, he's aged well and has always been in shape.
Fisher has lost a ton of weight and looked really good about 2 years ago (she's put some back on since, but not like what she once weighed).
Hamill already seems to be getting in shape for Episode 7 in the last several months and has slimmed down. If he's in shape and grows a beard he'll look cool.

I only have one concern: I just hope it's a good movie for kids.

Abrams needs to make sure it promotes good values and that children can fully enjoy and appreciate it.

Star Wars is all about the kids, after all.
