I'm trying jscreen fix and its been running for 20 mins and nothing. still a white pixel on the black background. anyone know if anything else to try

Either accept them or be prepared to travel the twisted road of endlessly exchanging the product on the hunt for one without dead pixels. Ah the OG PSP days...

I have tried a number of 'screen-fixers' and also tried the gentle-pressure technique. None of it's worked for me so I still have a red-dot right in the centre of my screen, but you're welcome to try them:

Video-based version:

UDP is another JScreen-esque program:

Or Method 2 from here (Be careful, or you'll be too hard and damage the screen):

only was able to fix a pixel on a laptop screen by massaging it, but that was on a matte screen where you could apply direct pressure on it.

thanks guys, guess I just wont use anything dark for my backgrounds. I didn't notice it for the longest time but since the moment it came to my attention its all I can think about.

Heh, yep, that's what these things do. They mess with your mind. Man.

I'm living with it, but it's annoying enough that I'm grabbing some multi-platform games for my PS4, or hooking the PC to my TV so I don't have to put up with it.

I could handle it if it was off to one side, but it is directly in the centre of view for most games. As I can't screenshot it, did a one-pixel Paint picture to show where it is:

Oh man. That little red pixel is so conspicuous it looks like a gaping portal to hell.

Nope, never.

I got some on my launch PSP after a while. I ran the blue and red seizure medication ad for hours on end, but it changed nothing.

Eraser head rubbed on the area followed by JScreenFix did the trick on a stuck pixel for me. Also if you get it fixed don't turn the monitor off for any amount of time for a few days afterwards to that it doesn't stick again.

I have a green one a bit lower than yours. Some fine knocking/rubbing makes it disappear (or reappear too).

I fix stuck pixels by taking the product back to the store and getting a non faulty replacement.

Alas, I got mine from Amazon and ASUS have a crappy stuck-pixel returns policy where they won't accept it back if there's less than five stuck/dead pixels on a screen (Unless you pay more for a monitor with a Zero Dead Pixel guarantee. Of course).

I tried the rubbing and tapping technique. All it's left me with is a permanent blemish on the screen around the dot. It's not bad enough to be noticeable thank god, but I don't want to risk making it worse.

I've "rubbed on" (MeOWW) the dead/off pixel a couple of times when its acting up.. it seems like a temp fix, usually comes back, however each time it seems to take longer until it goes back out again.. *shrug*

I worked at a computer store and I have seen a few stuck pixels come unstuck on LCD monitors by running that program that flashes the screen really fast. It doesn't work all that often, but it is always worth a try.

I did it once on a Nintendo ds. Didn't work on my iPad when it got stuck so I just exchanged it an an Apple Store.

Nope. I got a Dell monitor ages ago that got a stuck pixel and nothing I tried worked. Eventually I just stopped caring.

The way I fixed one on my computer monitor was pretty simple. First thing is to get one of those videos with some crazy physchadelic like effects happening. This will help to "stimulate" the monitor. Next, I use coconut oil and 1-3 fingers to gently start massaging the area where the dead pixel is. Yes, with the monitor on. Usually after 5-10 minutes I'm back in action! Clean off the coconut oil and you're all set!

All I have to hand is Jojoba oil. I'm doomed.
