Has there been FFX HD impressions yet?

Bam! 24h awake playing this non-stop :lol

Another 24 to go...?

I picked Standard Sphere Grid. Is that the best option as someone who has only played the first 20 hours before?

Its the best no matter what

Standard Grid has all characters separated and has actually more nodes so it's easier to max.
Expert grid has a very different layout, the characters start near each other (and can swap roles right at the beginning) and has less nodes so you'll need better spheres to compensate.

Sounds like I made the right choice. I just want to get through the story comfortably first time, don't want to mess about and get stuck grinding due to bad choices in the sphere grid.

I can't really remember exactly, haven't played it for years. I would recommend standard on your first playthrough though, expert is only more useful if you already know the general skill tree of each character.

Cheers.

I know this will seem ignorant, but any chance you can import a PS2 save to this thing?
Nope.

guys i badly want to play FFX again , should i play it using pscx2 or wait for the vita version???

i am afraid that if i play it right now, i might not be willing to replay again when it comes out on vita

I'm really excited for this. I was a big FFX fan. At the time I refused to play X-2 because i thought it was just wrong for an FF title to have a sequel. Times have changed and i'm gonna give it a shot. Hopefully it's good (story wise)

Depends how much you like trophies and how much the remaster changes bother you.

If you don't mind the changes and want trophies go vita, otherwise play it on pcsx2.

People like the battle system in X-2. I personally don't because of the animation priority making things completely bonkers. As far as the plot...good luck with that.

After Lace Macalania... SPOILERS
Are you seriously on Sin for a short moment?

WHAT THE FUUUUUUCKK DID THEY DO TO SANUBIA SONG

I have it for the vita and I say wait. The game really looks really great and the remaster of the soundtrack is great. I was using the original soundtrack to study for my finals so I listened to it so many times, and I still think I prefer the remaster so far.

Plus it's been years since I've played the original so reliving the story is great.

Okay, you have the game for Vita.

Does the Vita version have custom music enabled or disabled?

All of those rearrangements sound really good, there's nothing "fucked up" about them (as in, that they'd sound completely horrible in a Resident Evil Dualshock Edition kind of way). The Besaid Island song is a beautiful one, even if a little bit different from the original.

Yeah, I have liked pretty much everything I have heard so far (I haven't listened to all of them) stand out tracks are: Out of the frying pan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_xMHZleARU and obviously Someday a dream will end, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhYQLgd1h8I. Those are pretty similar to the originals, but with real instruments. I'm not sure about People of the far north, as I loved the original so much, it has a different sound in the HD version. Anyway I really hope they release the album.

I agree. The remastered OST, overall, is a big plus. There are a few tracks that I think they missed the mark on, but over all I am really enjoying it. Blitzball Gamblers, Attack, and Seymour Battle are probably three of the better examples where they improved greatly over the original music.

Got to finally listen to the ost, not impressed and as I feared they did tamper with prelude and to the end of the abyss. I will stick with FFX -Int(PS2) when I feel like playing X again.

I like what I've heard of the remastered music so far. I haven't done a complete playthrough of FFX since it was released, so I am really looking forward to experiencing it all over again.

Just a heads up. The guy who made the previous Vita gameplay video of FFX realized there were a lot of framerate issues with the footage, so he has re-recorded the whole thing again and re-uploaded to show how smooth the game really runs on Vita.

Edit: Ups, sorry for the double post.

Rejoice! That looks much better. Vita version is for me, then. Thanks for linking the new video.

Man, that cutscene... couldn't stop the tears.

after seeing the game in motion the HD ps3 version is really damn good. Fine work from square. FFX is the best game ever now it's even closer to perfect. They should have recorded some new voice acting though in particular Tidus and Yuna they were off at times. But overall what a masterpiece of a game, fantastic story, gameplay, atmosphere. it's everything a real game should be.

The only difference between the PS3 and Vita version is graphics and the fact that they are seperate on the Vita right? I remember reading a comment saying that the redone soundtrack wouldn't be in the Vita version. Tell me this is untrue D:

Screw it, just gonna call it @ 32h without breaks. Head is dizzy :lol

When is the OT due? G'night!

Man, March is seeming so far away. Cannot wait to get HD X goodness on PS3.

It took me a long time to...kind of accept FFX-2 for what it is. If you go in expecting a an epic adventure that's as heartfelt as FFX was, you're gonna be insulted. It's way more silly, fan-servicey and just (charmingly?) stupid. It kinda marks Toriyama's descent into waifu territory. Although games like XIII and that whole FFX-2.5 ordeal make X-2 look like a goddamn masterpiece.

I always approach X-2 as a parallel universe joke. A fun and silly distraction, but not a proper portion of X's story. I absolutely would not buy it or play it, if it wasn't already gonna be included with my copy of XHD.

I don't think I'll ever have enough mental gymnastics though to make X-3 palatable.

The PS3 version has a lot of loading that wasn't present in the original @_@.
Any frame drops in the PS3 version? The vita, it drops a bit when there are too many things in the background. Example, it's pretty noticeable in the Guado's place when Yuna goes to Seymour's room while the rest of the members are waiting outside. It's nothing too bad though.

Actually the expert advice is to not use Expert except to handicap yourself. There's more slots on the Standard grid, so you end up with more powerful characters in the end.
