Great comedic timing in this. Some of the best I've seen since Working!! Season 2.

The split second later "hage!" and the contagious scream both had me laughing so hard in episode 5.

ep 6

I think the Playstation Pasta would do much better than the Vita.

I figured Lucifer would integrate into modern Japanese society as well. Still kind of weird how
Emi's father's killer is being portrayed
, but hey, new world=new start. Also, that may be addressed later.

I'm going to crosspost from the main thread, since some people may not venture in there, as a rebuttal:

Episode 5 continues the emasculation of Emi though! This episode further cements that Emi sucks:
Responds to the reveal by almost crying and generally being a wimp.
Further wimpiness is shown by her not reacting to Lucifer's first attacks and trying to protect herself and instead needs Maou to put up a barrier for her.
Switches to her whimpering voice when Maou's seemingly killed.
Has to finally be spurred into action and using her powers by a restrengthened Maou
Saved by Alsiel
When Maou decides to finally join the fray she stands aside and has some smug look like Alsiel, she basically gives the scene to him, further emasculating what should be a strong and prideful character.

I think this episode solidified Emi as Maou's despite anything she says to the contrary, any strength or resistence she may display in the future's just a smokescreen to stroke her own damaged ego but it doesn't hide the truth.

And Chiho's still the best. No matter what happens Chiho will always be the best.

Yeah I remember your post from around Episode 3 or 4 in the AnimeGAF thread (whichever episode where Emi had to spend the night), and I agreed then and haven't changed my opinion much since. Her destiny is to become permanent dere, and that sucks.

Gotta check out Episode 6.

Episode 6

chiho's p. moe

This show's definitely much better when it doesn't involve fighting for well over half of it. The scene where
Chiho mentions getting a call from Hell after discovering all seven secrets of the school only for Maou to immediately receive one from Lucifer himself was pretty funny and clever.

This episode was one of the best ones around. Lucifer is perfect in so many ways and adds a whole new element to their household chemistry. Ashiya is so strict but at least Sadao is fortunately there to at least look out for Lucifer. Ah I love all three so much and the whole thing was quite funny with how it turned out. Should have recognized the hints much earlier in the episode as to the solution of the mystery of sorts.

Chiho should just give up since Maou's eyes are completely only focused elsewhere and Emi seemed obnoxious this episode, she should calm down sometime and relax.

I liked the comedy in ep 6 but i think ep 5 was much better
But judging by the previews ep 7 should be great in term of "fun" factor.

Episode 1 - 6

This show is fucking amazing. I really like the character designs, save Chiho but that's because I don't like her all that much in the first place. The premise is really interesting and it's very fresh. The comedic elements keep me laughing and amused and the twist on how the characters adapt to a new world is really fascinating. Really digging drama queen Ashiya and his husband Maou. Emi is really cool too despite being trolled to no end. Great show.

I thought you were cool, kayos.

Ashiya and maou and their son, lucifer are the best part.

Not cool.

Crap, the show introduced a new female character at the end of the last episode by her literally falling head over heels into Maou's arms. This is going to devolve into some harem shit isn't it :(

"Going to"

"Going to"

I'd be fine with a well done love triangle but honestly up until the last episode I didn't think they were pushing that angle. Sadly between Emi's characterization in episode 6 going to complete garbage (not that she was ever great to begin with but still) and the ending its blatantly obvious where the show is heading now. I suppose I just missed it before

Alsiel is part of his harem man.

It was harem from the start.

if you notice
there was this person watching them when they were in the school at night in episode 6.
The anime gave us so many hints
Seriously. In the same episode
Chiho also saw a package of noodles on the ground outside the school at the end and then next episode Maou gets boxes of noodles as a gift!

Also, my prediction for Kimonogirl:
Would be assassin, is feeding them food that drains their magical power(the opposite of the vitamin drink that Emi's taking(a hint in itself considering the timing), her conversation with Emi was also ambiguous enough to support that that's how she's going after Maou not in a romantic way but Emi's too dense to get that.

Don't think the new girl is very exciting. Her personality is pretty dull. Hopefully they'll do something interesting with her because she just sucked the comedy out of the air in 7.

In her defense I don't think that's her real personality.

I think that she's conniving, shrewd, focused, sharp, patient and outspoken. I think the real question is will her other side ever pop up in the show or not as I think her current persona is rather boring.

That's an interesting possibility. It's pretty clear that there's more to her. I just hope they get to it quickly.
Well,
If she really is the girl that was giving her report to the church in the previous episode she should be a fairly dangerous character. Despite being a servant of an order that serves a cult like institution like the church she essentially calmly reprimanded her superiors and even shat on the church a little. I wouldn't normally expect that kind of behavior from a stooge. I would guess then from that brief scene that she actually has her own goal and feels that she is on equal standing with the church, rather than some mere servant, is astute enough to have picked up on that stuff before her superiors, and considering some her suggestions, like with what to do with Emi, is also calculating and probably has the type of mindset that would allow her to carry out whatever she decides.

Just from a personality standpoint I would say she's more dangerous than someone like Emi. Emi's the kind of person that has strength but knows nothing, is a total stooge who's driven by rather flimsy motivations like "justice" and decides how she believes she needs to act by how others expect her to act. This makes her somewhat of a loose cannon and prone to breaking easy when her shaky convictions are challenged. The new girl on the other hand should have stronger internal convictions, should have already considered the negative aspects of her goals and decided to move forward anyways, and should be stronger willed alone without external support.

Should anyways, remains to be seen exactly how competent she is and while I'm sure she's doing something to their food her disguise and current plan of attack is rather lame. Anyways, they could always make her a klutz or some shit.

Wonder how much of a delay between funimation's site and hulu
For either episode 5 or 6 it was a several day delay for some reason, some episodes go up at the same time, it's really haphazard, I don't think there's a hard coded "delay" just Hulu not approving it and posting it when they get it or some guy at Funimation forgetting to get it to Hulu or something.

You know I like Chiho too, but do people actually have a problem with Emi? She's definitely one of the more bearable tsunderes I've seen in a harem anime and she has an actual valid reason not to trust the protagonist. If anything it's ridiculous how understanding she is of the whole situation.

Yeah, she's a fine character and she fits well in the show. I just enjoy getting carried away with anime politics.

I do have a problem with the kimono girl. But it's probably too early to judge her yet.

I don't know how they can make Suzuno having ulterior motives any clearer. I mean, they even showed her in episode 6 in Ente Isla.

Episode 7 The Devil's Budget Is Saved by Neighborliness
tumblr_mn08hiXxRC1qbxqfpo1_500.png

Their family setup and their interactions just in the apartment is really where the anime shines. Poor Urushihara having to do tasks and Ashiya too :(. At least theyre all pitching in to help out and nurse him back. The action is alright but nothing outstanding or definitive, and oddly made me wish we got more time back in the apartment. Even the time at MgRonalds is fun. Two months went by fast.

So anyways, what's the end, err mid-game here? My prediction:
Emi's getting beat by eyeball light shooting guy, maou tries to jump in but also starts to get beat due to being weaker by the harlot Suzuno and then Suzuno herself is going to have to jump in and help them both thus realizing Mao's such a nice guy, what a mistake she's made, yadda, yadda.

Episode 7

Yeah, the characters probably won't do much outside of their niche but it's a pretty entertaining combination so I'm cool with that. I hope next episode doesn't end up as an incredibly protracted fight like 5 was.
