Have You Ever Been an Ass While Playing a Game?

Yeah, plenty of times while playing WoW. It can be hard not to get frustrated in an hours-long raid when people keep screwing up, or steal loot etc.

Yes I have...

Demon's Souls, there is a spell,
Soulsucker
, you can use to steal Soul Levels (this awards you the amount of souls that their level would be) from people. I invaded someone, he was AFK, I stole as many levels as I could then I killed him since the spells doesn't kill the player...

Once, but I feel bad about it now.

I joined a multiplayer game in Call of Juarez, and a lot of the other players were lined up against the wall so that one guy could boost an achievement for consecutive headshots or something.

I felt mischievious, so I came up behind him and shot them all a couple of times. Then I got booted.

Haven't done anything like that since. It was just a mood one night I guess.

I always wanted to play a Shadow Priest on a PvP server back in Vanilla WoW so that I could mind control people and jump off of a cliff or something. I'm pretty sure that was possible.

I used to (lightheartedly) troll people in CoD MW2 with my riot shield build.
I never glitched or did anything unethical like that, but many people didnt know how to counter my shield tactics (feet could ALWAYS be shot, Dange Close perk or stick a semtex grenade on the shield = shielder death).

I remember going on a huge tirade in PGR 2. I was really pissed people didn't know the tracks and slowing us "faster" players down. Someone tried to interject and I told him to go fuck himself and learn the tracks.

What a fucking dick I was. Many months later one of the guys recalled it and told me it motivated him to do just that. I apologised for being so damn stupid.

I sometimes abuse chat to write inane gibberish. Most of the time it's with people I'm accustomed to and they enjoy it or are somewhat amused or whatever. I have also, however, played a match or more just rolling around and spurting nonsense. I have been kicked for this and afterwards I feel a little dirty. It is a strange exercise in self expression wasting other people's time and if they don't want to hear a garbled version of the Timaeus or whatever, which they usually don't, it just isn't funny to anyone but myself.

It usually is a sort of release when I've been playing too long but idk, I do it in real life too. It is awkward.

I Scammed like two people into giving me shit on EQ and told them I would log onto another character to pay them the plat.

I still feel bad about it. Like real bad.

I was like 12.

I was an ass a few times back some 15 years ago when I was playing Counter Strike online. Most of the time I would play serious, but there were a couple times where it was obvious we were going to win by a wide margin and I would start messing with my teammates throwing flash grenades or standing in front of them while they tried to snipe.

Nothing too terrible though.

Counter Strike and Halo.

I'm constantly reminded of how natural of an instigating jerk I am.

It's quite depressing, so I'm striving to be a light in games now. It's really challenging, but rewarding.

People often play games to relax and have fun. Deriving joy from intentionally angering someone is frankly a sickness. You can really make a difference in being kind in a game.

The CSGO story was pretty funny and you shouldn't feel bad. TKing always comes with a risk of being banned and that guy has to have known that.

The Pokemon story is another story. Glad you rectified that.

Not long after starting UO I found a really helpful guild that let me join, helped me progress and provided lots of resources. I spent a lot of time with different members, including one who eventually gave me control over his tower, which was full of rare and valuable items. So of course I unlocked everything, stole all the good stuff and sold it all at the bank. I then made another character, rejoined the same guild and did it again.

Beating the shit out of my friends in Smash without telling them the controls. I think it took like two matches until they learned how to jump.

I'm a camping piece of shit in every first person shooter I play and I do not give a fuck how much the rest on the people in the game hate my tactics.

Online no, but in games like Just Cause 3 where the are pretty much no repercussions for anything, civilians aren't treated very well by me lol

When I used to play Unreal Tournament 2003 a lot, half of the time I would teamkill people if I was in the mood for it. This is especially annoying for some in modes like Invasion where you have to wait until the wave is over until you can play again (if you die,) and in modes like Onslaught it disrupts people who are camping or involved in a skirmish

It was great fun. Other times I did make a serious effort and usually did pretty well

Everyday in Rocket League. Since I have to resort to playing public ranked matches, about 80% of my games are playing with scumbag opponents or teammates. I always start the match saying "no problem" if they make mistakes or I applaude their efforts, but it always devolves into them making sarcastic or rude comments. By the end of the match it's a blame-fest over who sucks and who's garbage etc. Rocket League is easily my game of the generation, but the public community makes me hate it as well.

A couple of times if someone talks smack before the game or right after game that they win and I demolish them the next one. Yeah, but I have no regrets unlike you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Oh I also do troll builds in games. I had a silent pistol and knife build in BO3. Nothing enrages people more. Tac knifing in MW2 was too much fun.

Straight up smashed this dude with the pizza cutter in Bloodborne right after I got it. F you dude get the fuck outta here.

I dunno I kind of love being an ass in games.

I admittedly crouch repeatedly after killing a helicopter in BF4.

Even if they kill me 8x before I get them (most funny because you know they are like "wtf I've been owning him").

I probably ganked someone in WoW. That's about it. But even then it was just a hit and run, I'd never corpse camp. I hate assholes in video games so I don't want to really be like them at all. I find them to be pretty pathetic.

Pvp server in WoW. Level a rogue to appropriate level for Stranglethorn. Have above average gear that your friends helped you obtain. Have a buddy also play a rogue and do the same for him. Gank for hours together.

I have no regrets.

R6 Siege when you make a nice murder hole, get in position and some dick comes along and stands in front of you to take the spot. I just shoot them.

I used to drive jeeps in front of teammate's planes as they were taking off in Battlefield 1942. That was kind of a dick move, in retrospect.

I'm also a giant asshole in the Souls games but I don't think that counts.

I used to compete for the most warthog kills in Halo. I was actually top 5 with most wheelman metals for some time in Reach, although some of the things I've done to either steal one or prevent my teammates from getting my hog are downright shameful.

Halo sometimes gives me an entitlement mentality lol
But I put it to better use than my teammates so that makes it ok... Right?

Always in local multiplayer.

Talking shit and gloating is part of the fun. Much akin to pouring salt on the wounds of your enemy.

I used to troll my teammates in Halo 2 & 3 enough so they'd kill me and I could then boot them. I did it for the lolz! I'd never do that now, but at the time I thought I was hilarious.

One of my best friends from high school was seriously a saint when it came to most things. Always there to lend a hand to anyone just the nicest, most soft spoken guy you can think of. Not ultra competitive either and usually a great guy to play a game with...until one day we got Four Swords Adventure. Dude suddenly turned into a pyromanicial douchenozzle of the highest degree, ripping and robbing, getting the other three links in as much hot water as possible.

No other games brought this out of him. In a game where there was no real reward for not working together except for a slightly taller podium at the end of each stage. I still remember the look in his eyes to this day.

I love FSA because I got to see this side of my friend. That and its a dope ass game.

Whenever I played FIFA online I would always be nice about games. If I ever lost or won, I'd usually send a "GG" message. Whenever someone would let replays play forever when they scored, I would do the same to them, for everything. Corner kicks, gol kicks

Never. But then again I rarely play online

Same here. Even in Dark Souls, I'll play with my console disconnected since when I first started playing I got invaded in Blightown and got knocked off that rickety bridge (you know the one). That made me really mad. He was just waiting there...

Let me preface by saying I'm usually always trying to be helpful in games and I always am forgiving of other players that aren't good but just want to play and have fun.

...but after the last game of Counter-Strike I played, I have to confess I was being a bit of a dick and I'm feeling a bit guilty.

Having been deranked over time from not playing competitively, I have dropped from playing with players at an average position (Gold Nova) to the worst position available (Silver I) causing me to go into this cycle of consistently running into bad players. This last game I was playing was absolutely insufferable though.

There was a player on my team, that we'll call Bob, who consistently was not helping the team at all but actually trying to lonewolf, or come up with insane ideas involving him clutching out a win by himself.

Finally we get to a point in a match where we are in the "bomb site" and Bob has the bomb he needs to plant to win. Problem being that Bob never knows if he has the bomb. So instead of planting, he goes off and tries to hunt the last guy on the enemy team. Rather than telling Bob in chat to get back to the bomb site and plant, I, out of nowhere, decided to passive-aggressively walk up to Bob and kill him in cold blood in order to grab the bomb and plant. Having grabbed the bomb I tried to the bomb site to plant only to die like a few moments later.

Frustrated and not knowing what he did wrong Bob wonders why I killed him. With no thought, I type "Shoulda planted" followed by "Your Fault." Pissed, Bob decides to kill me within a matter of seconds after we spawn.

Problem being that Bob kills me as soon as the round starts, causing him to incur a 7 day ban.

I wouldn't say you were being a dick, impatient for sure. Depending on his situation too like was he brand new or really just trying to solo everything. Also maybe he didn't know how to plant bomb? Also from the video I couldn't tell if he was really taking off maybe just Checking a few corners before planting?

But you don't seem to be an ass you have a conscious and think about it that's what matters

Like I just started rainbow six yesterday and I was doing pretty bad. One time I was planting the bomb scrambler or whatever and I forgot that it was just a briefcase you lay down by the bomb. I kept trying to disarm the actual bomb. Lol. So a guy gets on the mic and goes " It's just a briefcase you just put it on the floor next to the bomb". I was embarrassed but thankful he wasn't a dick to me. And I went 0-5 on one game and Noone spazzed at me which was nice.

Hey but even I'll teabag a guy in Battlefield sniping from a mile away. or who goes for the knife and you can hear them walking up and just light their shit up from 2 feet away. you don't knife a dude with surround sound, not today bitch! Lol
