Have you ever been banned from a Game/Server unjustly?

Battlefield 3 the thread?

The way they handle the custom servers is bullshit. Giving people full control of who to kick or ban from the server is just a bad idea.

I got banned so many times just for playing too good or better, than the server owner. Those people do everything, in order to win.

IGN

they said i have a multiple account. That was not true, it happen probably because a proxy in the business i work but they don't believe me. I try to make my point to different admin and they didnt listen so i'm here. I've ask what's the name of my other account and never give it to me.

&*"$% IGN forum

But it's been a while.

Even then, are multiple forum users on IGN not allowed to use the same computer? That's really myopic.

I got banned from an isketch game. The Word was 'optimal,' and I started drawing Optimus Prime.

Some whiz guessed it almost immediately after recognizing the faceplate and antennae.

We both got kicked because the host assumed we were in cahoots.

I got a temp ban on a NWN persistent world for power leveling. Probably the only unjust in-game ban I've got. Banned once in WoW after being hacked but i recovered the account and gear if not the gold.

Pretty much every mod or ban I got on GameFAQs was unwarranted, but I got away with plenty of things that deserved action.

During the free weekend for Chivalry I got banned from every server I played on, they called me "hacker" and "spammer" and team killed me a couple of times and then banned me. Worst community I have ever seen, LOL has nothing on them

tf2 - i was kicking ass as a demoman on the red team in dustbowl. some guy switched out to spectator and it moved me to blu immediately (who had been losing ever since i'd made the switch). he joined blu again, and then everyone voted me out for being idle.

Yeah, in BF3. I have been banned/kicked 3 times just because I was being a good medic and getting a lot of points/kills

Yeah i had an account banned on Final Fantasy 11 for supposedly buying virtual goods.....If i was buying virtual goods i'd be more than lvl15 with the worst armour in the world....I gave in with the game it was not worth it

I got banned from a few BF2 servers along with my entire clan after we proved to be so much better and organised than some other teams, we worked as a team/squad and decimated others.....certain people on loosing teams obviously reported us so we were banned

I'm sure there are more than that, its always the way, if some people they get power they ban

Wow, Battlefield MP seems to be full of idiots.
Whats the point of having a competitive game mode but get people banned because they are simply better?

I think the closest I got to getting banned was back when I played Ragnarok Online.
People would think I was a bot when I was out grinding exp. When I did that solo I usually wouldn't use the chat and just kills stuff like a madman for a few hours.

Once I even got the "Are you a bot?" check-questions from a mod/GM. It was weird. :P

A couple of servers back in the CS1.6 days for hacking, even though i wasn't.
Battlefield 3 servers for cursing lol, brb 18+ game.

My son got me a VAC ban on my account four or five years ago. He has his own account now.

Lifetime bans are bullshit. People get out of jail in ten years after violent crimes. I don't know why online forums and game services have to be "ETERNAL EXILE" about it.

Shit happens, people grow up and change. I mean, damn.

Why would you raise your son to be a cheater? I don't wanna tell you that you suck at parenting but....

Similar to the time I got an in-game whisper (possibly mail? This was in 2005) from a GM in WoW for fooling low-level people into attacking the 1-HP Eye of Killrogg you could spawn as a warlock, thereby PVP flagging them. It's a dick thing to do, but also fun.

Way back in the day I got banned from an RTCW server because I was apparently too good for someone on 56.6k so I must have hacked.

This one BF (can't recall if 42 or 3) server forbade base-spawn camping. Apparently flying over the enemy counted as spawn camping, even though i just passed over it, didn't even fire in the air.

What is Spawn camping anyway? Aren't Spawn points random?

I got banned an awful lot in UT99 and BF2142 for hacking/aimbotting.

My aim is shit, I don't get it.
Is aimbotting even a word? And how would someone hack a game to aim better?
This sounds more like magic.

ET:RTCW for me... Was hiding behind boxes and leaning, waiting for the same idiot with a panz that would run down the same hall every spawn. He would run down the hall, I would be leaning, see him and waste him. After 5 times in a row he kicked and banned me from his server for "wallhacking". I jumped on their board and he said "I specced you and you could see around boxes when crouching" which was "hacking".

I told him to just try pressing "Q" and see what happens but then he called me a homophobic slur and banned me from their clan's forum.

it was kinda glorious.

And wow that was 10 years ago now. /oldmanproblems

I've fallen foul of the custom BF3 servers where the owner's team get to ignore the restrictions on explosives. It was a case that if you got a kill with a grenade you'd get killed by the admin but they could rake in the kills without penalty - urgh!

I am fairly new to gaf but went over all the TOS rules regarding the threads and never seen anything stating no introduction threads so I made a intro thread that was immediately locked with no explaination or mod name attached to it. I later on in another thread apologized if off topic but asked if they knew why my thread was locked? and they said its kind of a unwritten rule on gaf but no its not in the tos. They also explained there are 1000,s of people signed up so if every new person made intro threads it would be too much spam. I understood the explaination and thanked the guy for it and responded to a few other guys info replies thanking them and was banned for like 2 in a half weeks for being off topic and not seeking a mod to answer my question. I am new to gaf and had no idea how to
find a mod, they didn't leave a name or reason when they locked my thread.

There was an obvious hacker in a game of TF2,I reported him and he promptly changed his name to mine (with a slight difference, say .Fantastapotamus). So I got banned and not him (I persume he was banned later). I thought that was pretty funny though.
I only got banned from the server not from VAC so it didn't matter to me

Yep, from multiple TTT (Trouble in Terrorist Town) servers. Apparently firing upon someone, having evidence of them being a traitor, is classed as RDM (Random Deathmatch). Also killing someone, when you're a traitor, will also be classed as RDM. As always, admins always abuse their power when they get killed. (The whole RDM rule and the fact that the players themselves will use this rule against those who kill them ruined TTT for me & my friends)

I usually avoid getting banned from anything, except a few temporary bans for leaving multiplayer games years ago. (I generally try to avoid leaving multiplayer games nowadays)
