Have you ever fallen asleep while playing a game?

Everytime I try playing a racing game that isn't Mario Kart (or some variation)

I pretty much fell asleep every night with the laptop in bed playing FFXI.
Needless to say I'd wake up with my character running against a wall or dead in the middle of a swarm of mobs.

Most hardcore "I better go sleep" moment was falling asleep playing Guitar Hero. I'm pretty sure it didn't just happen once either.

Yes when I played Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time.
It was in the afternoon so I wasn't sleepy. The games just bored me.

My senior year when FF7 came out I had a hernia surgery and spent two weeks playing nothing but FF7 and eating percoset. I was loaded up on opiates and nodded off while I bred chocobos. I dreamed I was riding on a chocobo to school.

Does that count?

Way back in the days when I used to play EQ obsessively. Since you were never kicked offline and character death could result in the permanent loss of equipment (if you didn't retrieve your stuff within the allotted time) we'd actually have each other's phone numbers in case of emergency. It wasn't uncommon to have people pass out during raids. These were all night affairs with no instancing or saving.

All the time. Since I mostly game before sleeping. Hate it when I do it with consoles or handhelds due to batteries going dead and consoles for leaving it on for long periods of time like that cant be good.

I fell asleep while playing EverQuest countless times...

- 3 day straight Robe of the Ishva camp.
- 3am raids with US guilds.
- Trying to sell stuff in EC tunnel until late at night.
- Grinding exp in tons of places (I was once asleep for 6 hours in an Overthere group with the members of the group cycling through the night - easiest way to get through hell level :p).
- And many more.

Skyrim several times early on. Brutal work hours combined with wandering woods and exploring and soothing sounds equaled ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZzzzz lol

Playing the original FFT. Never because I was bored, but because I would continue playing for so long I eventually just fell asleep. Would often wake up and just continue playing.

During the tutorial for Eye of Judgment during multiple attempts at completing said tutorial.

Even more times waiting for the game to update...

No, I can't fall asleep if something is left on. My brain doesn't turn off when presented with stimuli, even when I'm super sleepy. If I get really tired while playing I turn everything off before going to bed.

one time i was playing rock band with my friend pretty late at night, and i dozed off at the part right before the solo. my friend noticed me, and wondered how i still hit a couple of notes.

...it was a pretty repetitive part, so i'm not surprised. :(

I kept dozing off while watching the block of cutscenes after chapter 3 in MGS4. Still have never played through it again so that whole part is pretty hazy to me.

But I've never fallen asleep while actually playing a game.

All the time. Never the games fault though. I can only play games at night, at least on the TV. I probably dosed off every night I played The Last of Us.

For some reason, Final Fantasy XIII would lull me to sleep during combat scenes, I don't know if it was the repetitive nature of the "corridors" or what, but I had some serious issues staying awake if I was a bit tired -- made some of the middle sections (especially Palom Porum) a real slog.

No, but I have accidentally left systems on. Then I'm kinda worried the damn thing will have overheated and become damaged somehow from being on all night.

All the time, but that's probably because I mostly only play at night now. Fell asleep during The Last of Us the other night, and woke up just in time to see Joel get his neck chewed off.

Maybe it's me but I fall asleep quite often vith pad/handheld in my hands :D

First time I remember was while playing Colin Mc Rae on PSOne, I found myself struck on a corner while pressing the accelerator with my thumb :D
Then the classics - Metal Gear Solid 2 - 4 finals :D

I fell asleep playing Persona 3 a few times. It was a year I had a lot of homework, so I averaged 4 hours a sleep at night. That always caught up with me while I was I Tartarus >_>

I ironmanned MGS4 (yes, I'm crazy like that) and fell (feel?) asleep during one of the cutscenes at the end. Couldn't have been very long since it was still going when I woke up.

A friend of mine fell asleep while battling the Orb boss in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PS2). I noticed because his character kept running into a wall and wasn't helping me. I turned around and sure enough he was snoring right next to me (ah, the good old couch co-op days).

I recently nodded off for a bit while waiting turns in XCOM:EU (it was like 3am and I had been playing for 20hrs straight).

Also, I was ironmanning Batman: Arkham Asylum and I think I may have dozed off while in the Batcave as well.

It usually happens when I'm playing super late or after a very long session. It's rarely out of boredom (I'll just quit the game if that's the case).

I used to fall asleep raid healing in Kara all the time when I played WoW. Caused many a wipe that I usually heard about in the morning. Good times.

A lot of times when playing handheld games while lying down on a bed. One time with my psp (can't remember what game), I suddenly dozed off and accidentally threw my psp out off the bed. Other times, the handheld would just drop onto my face.

I also witnessed my brother falling asleep once. I was watching him play a game of nba 2k when suddenly, the player he was controlling stopped moving lol.

After coming back from being out one night in college, I remember being talked into running a WoW instance before going to bed. However, it turned into starting the dungeon and promptly falling asleep 10 minutes into it...

Yeah once when I was playing MGS2 and was really sick on antibiotics and other stuff, feel asleep for a bit woke up and started playing again.

Yeah a couple of times and not because the game was boring but because i started playing late into the night and the game was relaxing.Depends on the game though.I could never imagine falling asleep in a Souls game for example.
