Have you ever fallen asleep while playing a game?

Lots and lots of times. I can fall asleep doing anything though, to be fair. I especially used to do this for long sessions of Final Fantasy XI almost nightly for a while.

Fell asleep playing case 4 of ace attorney 1 on my iPad in bed last night.

Good digital novel thing so far, but case 4 has gone a bit off the deep end that even my own very wide suspension of disbelief is having trouble accepting. I mostly fell asleep due to exhaustion from the workday than boredom though.

Yep whilst playing Civ Revolution on 360. I guess i was just really tired as when i woke up (probably about 10 mins later) i was all dazed and confused. I thought i had over slept for work as i quickly glanced at the time and mistook 8pm as being 8am so i ran into my flat mates room and shouted "dude! we're so late for work!". He just looked at me for a few seconds as if i was cray then returned to WoW.

Only once.

I was hosting a Rainbow Six 3 match on Xbox Live and it was very late.. The thing was that I had the only good upload (512kb, damn) and people got stuck without being able to play. Lol.

Sometimes I'll play right before I go to sleep but that's about it. If I'm tried I might close my eyes while something trivial is going on and if I feel too tired to keep going I'll end the game and go to sleep.

I've actually never fell asleep playing a game, watching TV, reading a book, or doing any kind of activity, even a passive one. I guess sleep doesn't come to me as easily as it does to other people (although I have no issues falling asleep "normally"...).

My latest incident was playing Fable 3. Boring enough as it is. I was very tired the other night so was going to go to the save room and save. I got in there, pressed A at the save icon wall and next thing I know I guess I fell asleep for a small time. Dozed off would be a better term. Anyway, open my eyes to see I hadn't saved yet. I saved and went to bed.

Insane story, bro. So emotional. The ending really got me.

I think there was one time I was playing something and I dropped the controller due to starting to fade out to sleep, but I've never straight-up been knocked out fell asleep while gaming. When I get really sleepy while playing a game I usually just turn it off and go to bed.

Yes.

I would come home from school and baseball practice drained, but really wanting to play Ogre Battle 64. So I'd plop down in front of the TV, turn the game on, get my strategy set and my troops all ready and send them out on their way. And on multiple occasions I would wake up while they're engaged in battle after having fallen asleep as they made their way across the map.

Loved that game.

Yup, I was up all day and night the day before and I fell asleep playing Ninja Gaiden for the OG Xbox.

My grandmother said she walked over to me since I was sitting upright and my head was slumped. My fingers were still moving and pressing buttons!!! Lmao!!

It has happened a couple of times. The one I most clearly remember is playing Fable The Lost Chapters (2004-5-ish) with cheat codes enabled. I had an infinite mana supply and used the shield power granting me invincibility. I was up late and in the balverine part of the story.

Anyway I woke up to the vibrations of my Xbox controller at like 5am. The vibrations were from the white balverine hitting my character over and over again. It had been vibrating for hours. I had fallen sleeping during a boss fight.

Fell asleep once playing World of Warcraft during a raid in Molten Core. I'd been out drinking beforehand and must have nodded off during a break; I woke up to find myself sitting AFK and the rest of the guild fighting a boss. I did the honest thing and just switched my pc off and told them the next day that my net went down!

I remember falling asleep back when I had a playstation 1. I was playing Formula 1 '97 and ran a regular race and at one point went too fast and went off track into the sand trap. Got myself out of there and finished the race.

When I watched the replay, when I ran off track I sat there for about 20mins before continuing? I had no idea I had fallen asleep and went on with the game as if nothing had happened.

The only time I ever fell asleep playing a game was Oblivion. I was just walking along the river, and walking, and walking...and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I did fall asleep while watching the final cinematic of MGS4. I marathonned the last 2 acts of that game and did not realize they would bombard me with that kind of crazy long drawn out cutscene at the end. My mind was not ready for it at all. I wouldn't consider watching a 1 hour cutscene to be "playing a game" though.

Same here. Unless I'm extremely exhausted I don't pass out. I like to watch youtube or something in bed but if I were to keep loading up videos I'd never fall out. Have to turn them off and sleep, but I have no issues actually getting to sleep after.

When I was younger I'd play MMO's to the point where I could pass out though. Wake up with my face on the keyboard.

The worst is when I'm hooked on a book and I fall asleep for a split second and my kindle falls and hits me in the face.

FF13 through the ice area (linear early part of the game), you can only press auto attack for so long before the boredom sets in.

Maybe doesn't count, but I passed out while playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 on PSx one night. I was really really drunk. Apparently I was still beating everyone as Shin Akuma, despite basically having blacked out.

Woke up the next day in a sitting position with the controller in my hand.

No, but I played LittleBigPlanet2 in Coop with a buddy once and he was sitting behind me and suddenly he stopped moving and was like "C'mon dude." and I got angry because I thought he was looking at his smartphone or something, turned around and he was asleep.
Like, within a few seconds he was completely gone.

project x zone

came back to the hotel room after going to disneyland for a few hours, popped in the game thinking i could finish a chapter or two. i fell asleep in the middle of attacking on my first battle...

I've never fallen asleep playing. I think it's just because when I feel myself getting tired, I don't fight it, I go to sleep. If I'm really invested into a game I'll be wide awake, but that tired feeling catches up at some point. I will forever remember 9 years ago, I played City of Heroes (my first MMO experience) with a buddy of mine who was addicted. We were playing around 1:30AM - 3:AM and his character just started running forward in a straight line, for awhile I thought he was going somewhere until he started running into a wall. Then his character jerked and looked all over the place real quickly (his sensitivity was really high), and he typed, "fell asleep lol." At that point we went into a nearby quest where he IMMEDIATELY fell asleep again, this time he never came back. I just lol'd and logged off. Remembering his character jerking and looking around all crazy will always crack me up.

Twice. One practicing Capcom vs SNK 2 on the DC at 4am on the couch and another playing a JRPG cause I was neglecting sleep. My friend tends to do it when he's playing his PSP or DS. It's dropped a few times

When my friend comes over he likes to play games for long periods of times. Usually it comes to playing Co Op FPS games and after several energy drinks, I start dozing off in the early morning until i just crash.,

Once.

I was playing CoD4 MP really, really late (like 4/5am) and totally passed out. Woke up hours later to find myself of the MP menu and wondering wth happened.

All the time playing FFXI. Not because it was boring, but because leveling a job to 75 took forever and I would want to spend every waking hour XP'ing. If the party was nice, sometimes they would warp you back to town if they saw you not moving. But most of the time you'd wake up dead from them leaving you in a hostile zone, having lost most of the XP you just gained.
