Have you ever fallen asleep while playing a game?

Football Manager at night in bed on the laptop.

"I'll just close my eyes till half time."

Better than a cap of Dreamy Sleepy Nighty Snoozy Snooze

this happens pretty frequently actually to me, since the only time i get to game is when the missus goes to bed. so if im gaming between 11-1am and i'm really tired that day, odds are ill pass out...doublely so i'f i've smoked a bowl beforehand.

iirc i dozed off during walking dead most recently.

All the time, pretty much daily. I work 10 hour days, have a hour commute both ways, and have a 7 month old at home.

I know other people can operate on less than 8 hours fine, but I can't. If I slow down at any point durning the day I nod off, which is usually at the end of the day when I have time to play.

I usually play in bed as long as I can last. Only sucky part is when I continue to play a game while nodding off and then have no clue where I am when I resume.

Yes. I played Hybrid Heaven for the N64. It was in the middle of some encounter and i fell asleep with the controller in my hand, in my bed. When i woke up i just continued playing as if nothing happened.

Oddly enough, I remember it as if it were yesterday, but it happened AT LEAST 10 years ago.

Assassin's Creed 3, the ending bored me to sleep, literally.
More recently Animal Crossing NL, staying up late and listening to that sea and calm music on the island made me doze off :-)

Phantasy Star Universe a few years back. During one of the summer events where if you placed in like the top 300 you got a spread needle/g.

Spent an entire month running that event to stay in the top 50. Don't think I got more than maybe 30 or less hours of sleep over that entire time. Well anyway played the event so much that I fell asleep a few times, but was still able to do my part in the event O_o

I fell asleep after playing Ken's Rage 2 until the horizon started to turn orange. Woken up about 30 minutes later by my wife asking me, "What are you doing?"

I have a feeling this will happen sometime after next week.

Final Fantasy VII during grinding.

I fell asleep while walking around in Shadow of the Colossus. It was 2 years ago when I first played the game, late at night, and I was trying to poopsock the whole game (I was just before the 13th colossus iirc). I just dozed off on my bed.

PSO on Dreamcast. Fell asleep for like 6 hours while laying on the analog stick of the controller making my character run in circles. I know he ran in circles because I checked the chat log and I had a few friends pop in and asked WTF I was doing then left.

Pokémon Diamond because I was EV training my 5th member of the team at that time. Other than that, if I feel tired or sleepy I don't play.

You're not a true hardcore MMO player unless you've woken up to the sound of guildies laughing at you in ventrilo after you auto-ran off a cliff or into a corner non-stop... (or worse, into the exact group of mobs your group DIDN'T want to aggro)

I fall asleep fairly often while gaming.

Most recent occurrence was in EVE. Mission-mining in a backwater highsec system. The safest way to mine, really. EVE regularly spawns "rats", aka NPC pirates, and they're a rather sorry bunch in highsec. Easy Drone fodder if they're out and set to auto-aggro.

What can I say, long story short, damn rats shot me to pieces. Must've taken half an hour or so. Woke up to the hull breach alarm and got to watch the pretty explosions. Death by a thousand paper cuts,

At least it was only a pimped Retriever, not that bad; but still, it stinks.

I did once playing Ni No Kuni at 2:30AM because I couldn't put it down. I fall asleep playing iPad games all the time though and occasionally a 3DS game like Professor Layton.

I fell asleep watching the Ryse demo.

My friend said he fell asleep while grinding on FF7 and swears that when he woke up he was not only alive but several levels higher.

Many times with RPGs in the early AM hours.

The one game I couldn't continue because of it was Dragon Age Origins. I know its a well loved game and I still own it, but I've never made it more than an hour regardless of the time of day. I just can't suffer through Bioware writing even for the interesting combat. I tried skipping the majority and I still couldn't stay awake.

Wind Waker. I was playing at 3 am, fell asleep, my sister finds me the next morning sitting upright and my head down, holding the controller, with Link endlessly running into a wall.

Yes, had a time where i played Picross 3D everytime before i went to bed. Happened quit a lot that i woke up during the night and the DS was lying on the floor or next to me with Picross still running.

I have on multiple occasions. Not related to the quality of the game or the experience. Almost always when I am incredibly tired and just haven't realized it. I do this a lot as I work long hours and stay up too late for multiple days in a row. It will hit me when I don't realize it.

Games I've Fallen Asleep During:
World of Warcraft
Batman: Arkham City
Mass Effect 2
Halo (pretty much most of them)
Metal Gear Solid 3.

Thought of another one, planet mining in Mass Effect 2. But that was purely because I couldn't tear myself away from the game and my body just shut down

Only a true gamer can say they've fallen asleep during a game!

I've been known to kip whilst waiting for a summon in Dark Souls, waiting in game lobbies back in the PGR2 days (even staying asleep during the race, and having my car on the finish line), and generally just playing so much that I can't keep my eyes open any longer. Usually the sign of a rad game as you don't want to stop playing.

I've probably done it before but there is no one time or game that comes to mind. What I have done however, is get really drowsy so I'll pause the game and lay my head down for a minute and wake up a few hours later :D

Fell asleep during Oblivion and Red Dead Redemption. Was pretty funny waking up realizing I fell asleep playing a game. Shitty/easy/boring gameplay will do that.
