Have you ever won a solo round in PUBG?

After 14 hours I have yet to do it. Best I've done is third place. Top five once, top ten several times. It's a weird game sometimes in that I can make it to top 30 easily without even firing a single shot--just running to my destination. But boy do things get extremely tense toward the tail-end of matches, especially in open fields.

I seem to do better in Solo FPP, too.

Yeah, on my first day playing it tbh. Mostly because I was good at hiding and got lucky at the end though lol.

I always feel like I'm getting better at this game, which feels great. I'm now in the top 20 almost every time, I had a bunch of heartbreaking top fives, and a couple of chicken dinners.
Keep trying, don't panic, be patient, and you'll eventually get one.

Yep. Plenty of Top 10, a few top 5, one 2nd finish, one 1st. Got the 1st before getting 2nd or 3rd. It was a crazy game, I killed the 2nd place, 4th and 5th place. I actually only had one kill up to that point!

Yeah I've had a few, generally feels like luck until you get down to the last 15 or so then there is a bit more strategy (aka camping) involved. Had a few decent wins and a few that were 100% luck where 2 noobs made it to the last 2 and we just spray at each until someone dies, no accuracy here!

I remember my first game with my friend though after picking up the game, he died with like 15 or so squads left and I made it to a 2v1 final game. Then died as I messed up a jump trying to figure out the crouch controls :p That game I made it to the top 3 by pure luck, generally not running into any body with only 3 kills to my name.

Dude, it took me over 200 hours to win my first solo game. I have almost 500 hours now and I've only won 5.

Won a bunch of times in duo, though.

Got 3rd once because a house I entered early on happened to be right next to the very final stage of the game, at which point I had to leave because the house was just outside the zone after which I got killed instantly by someone actually good at the game.

I have tasted the solo chicken once. Got real close yesterday at 3rd. This game gives me more jump scares than a horror game, especially in solo.

A few times, but most of my wins have come from duos, and the very rare squad win. If I win a game in solo, I usually have around 7+ kills.

Once!

Like 5 times solo and once I won a duo by myself.
A few duos and a good amount of squad games, too- but actually good players were carrying me.
I'm pretty incompetent at FPS / TPS; I just play defensively and as stealthy as possible.

I have but it took me over 120 hours. Then I quickly got a second one. With that rate of growth I'll be the best PUBG player in no time. Hang in their OP, 14 hours is nothing!

First chicken dinner stories?

I remember dropping in a pretty secluded spot for some reason and I didn't have the best loot, I ended up getting better stuff from a guy that was passing by but at best I had an AKM with no scope and a level 3 helmet. Naturally, I didn't think I was going to win so I took it easy for a while, hid in the underground bunker while I went to the bathroom, and swam around in the river because the circle looked like it was going to end at Georgopol.

Getting close to there, I killed a dude hiding under the bridge by sneaking up to him underwater. Then I took his boat and made my way to north Georgopol.

It was obvious that the circle was going to end in one apartment so I made my way around them looking for stragglers, at this point it was just 5 or so of us left. Killed one dude who went outside because his apartment was no longer safe, he almost killed me so I healed up. Then by the time we were all in the same apartment, there were 3 of us left.

All we did was walk around or hide or throw grenades but it seemed like we were all in different floors. No one got killed for like 3-4 minutes until and then the circle started to close up. I panicked because you couldn't really tell if it was going to be outside so I started to sprint downstairs just as another player was making their way up top. We got into a messy 3 second fight and I killed them with not that much health yet.

I was ready to die, with my low health and the circle approaching, but it seemed like the final person must have also been in a fight and not healed up because they died immediately as the circle receded.

It took me a second to realize what happened and I just yelled "YAAAAAAS".

That was 12 hours in? I've gotten over 10 dinners by myself now but I literally can only remember my first.

What a great game.

my second game i got 2nd place without shooting my gun once and just hiding, when i went to fire i thought my gun was automatic so when i tried to shoot someone from behind it only fired once. Getting me killed

3 times so far in about 80 hours with the game. 2 in Solo and 1 in Solo First Person. I've had about 5 or 6 2nd place finishes also.

General strategy is to pick a spot with pretty good loot, but is not too popular, kill the 1 or 2 other people that land with you. I usually do best chasing the edge of the circle on the side where it is closest to the blue. Heading to the center right away can get you in the top 10 but leaves you too exposed from all sides unless it centers on buildings. All my wins so far have had me killing at least 4 people in the final 10.

Yes but it was a super undercooked dinner.

Basically ended up on high ground with 3 peeps left and the other two shot each other below me, let them fight it out and I finished him off to win with exactly 1 kill.

Three times, two TPP, one FPP.

Every single time I'd say the last kill came down to a lucky fluke for me (guy was on the edge of the blue when I shot him, he got finished off by it; guy smoked his own position when he had the only cover, allowing me to run like 100m or more straight up to his tree and shotgun him in the face; guy kept whiffing his Kar98 shots or hitting me in my level 3 vest while I suddenly couldn't see him, I managed to tap him once and then finish him off with a molotov of all things)

I managed to have an... okay number of kills each time. Like 3, 5, 7, I think? edit: 3, 4, 7. i've also had countless top 10 chokes, and like at least a half dozen #2s where I've choked

how consistent are the top players in PUBG?

Many of the top streamers can win multiple games consistently each day, sometimes on unbroken streaks of like 4-5 games at a time.

IÂ’ve won two matches in solo both w/ 7 kills. Sadly IÂ’ve been trying to get the chicken dinner in duos with my buddy but weÂ’ve gotten close but never got a win. I think like 40+ hours of play?

Yes I have, 3 chicken dinners and about ten top 10s like a couple of them on second place. Solo is easier to me because you don't have to rely on other people, no need to revive them if they die and such. People tend to separate and at times even farther than where you are. Its too complicated for me.

I came close with 3rd out of 100 once. Ended up backed into a corner with a choice between a grenade or sprinting out into the line of fire. I hesitated too long and got caught with the outer ring of the explosion.

Nope. 5th is my best result and I did that by hiding in a building for the vast majority of the game. I ended up being killed by a hidden sniper as usual, without having fired a single bullet in anger.

On solo though? That is incredible if Solo. I have only watched PUBG never played it, but there is definitely some luck involved as a solo player.

I have won twice in Fortnite solo if that counts

I have, it's pretty great. Remember that you are fighting 99 other people, and your odds of winning are very low. Every person that dies before you makes your victory that much more likely!

Pretty much everytime I accidentally play Third Person :p. First Person I've only got a few and regurlarly drop somewhere between 10-20 spot. Third person I usually end up in top 5 with a 5% win rate I think.
