Haze Official Thread, JCBossman Memorial and Skittles Appreciation. BOOSH!

Imo Haze is very much like a hi def looking ps2 shooter. A sorry excuse for the technology behind a ps3 game yes. Yet is it fun? Suprisingly yes. I haven't gotten board yet and I'm playing the game on hard so I'm dying quite often.

I had that feeling too.

I did a quick Google search and one of the top results was his PS3Forum.com profile. :lol

A few gems:

but my next PC I build this fall is going to have a TERABYTE+ of storage, all of which can be accessed from the 360.

It seems that alot of the online features on the PS3 are for the Japanese market ONLY, maybe even the Hard Drive

Now I don't know any of Microsoft's plans for the "720" but I can without a doubt tell you that it will BLOW AWAY the PS3

I don't know what the japanese like, from the videos I've seen they seem to like to crap, as in having chicks crap on surfboards and taking Videos of it

(What!? :lol)

While I would LOVE to frag some Sony fanboys in UT2007, there is NO way MS is going to let a PS3 anywhere near LIVE, I mean please, it would be like thier goes the neighborhood...LOL

Where is the 1up review. Was it supposed to be reviewed in the latest EGM? Has anyone got their hands on a copy of it yet? If so, it will be interesting to see how that turned out.

1UP no longer gets pre-release copies from Ubisoft as I understand it.

For the time being, you'll get little, late, or no coverage of the following products: anything Mortal Kombat (they didn't like our reviews), anything from Sony's sports department (ditto), and now, anything from Ubisoft (it seems our coverage of Assassin's Creed was the last straw). So in case you're wondering why you're seeing so little of these games in our magazines and on our websites, now you know.

Just finished the game and wow, what a mess it became at the end. Still good gameplay, but the sound was messed up, the AI was more retarded than ever, and the last level was just a stupid idea in the first place. Overall I enjoyed the game though.

By the way, please don't tell my mom...

Overall id say Hazes online play is solid and fun. Has replay value. And if download content is on the way like Free Radical has said, there is a future ( a good one) for this game.

and p.s. to the J.C Bossman guy, he is so rediculous! he even said if we have cross platform play, hell frag us in UT3! hes so rediculous.

rented this from GF, and while i'm not going to let my cat poop on it, it's pretty disappointing so far. if they're going for satire, they should've hired a professional writer. the game doesn't even look hd. the online features are good though, and the game is a bit fun as far as i've gotten.

does the 'hey.......hey.......hey' boxer at the beginning get the award for worst voice acting of the year?

and why do i involuntarily say BOOSH everytime i get a good kill now??

The dog-piling on this game is pathetic. Many of you haven't played it or even own the system to play it on, but oh yeah worst game ever LOLZ. I honestly don't care if you play it, but some of this BS indignation is sad. Yeah, come on guys, 31 pages? lolz can't we all just admit no one has a right to like this game and move on.
replace haze with too human. same shit.

So, does the Korn soundtrack make it any better? Worse?

Korn didn't make the soundtrack, they just made one song about Haze. I don't think you'll hear that anywhere in the game, except for maybe the end credits.

Ok here are is my opinion of the multiplayer in haze.

First I have to point something out. I have not played any Death match or Team Death matches, why? because the objective based matches are what I think Haze's multiplayer is about! In Haze's multilayer I have finally found a reason to use my butter covered knife that I love so much, plant trip mines and scavenge ammo; basically all the moves not normally used in the single player find their best uses in the multiplayer modes.

The objective matches mostly boil down to a kind of Counter strike formula, where the Rebels want to blowup/burn/destroy something and the Mantel troopers have to stop them or complete there own counter objective. One of my favorite modes does not actually follow BBD rule, but instead you have the rebels starting out as prisoners with bound hands, and the Mantel Troopers as armed and Juiced up guards. The rebels can only kick and run Run RUN, while the troopers can basically shoot them like fish in a barrel, the trick is to get out of the camp with out getting killed, jump in a helicopter, and return will a full arsenal to help free those less fortunate then you.

All in all its fun, and I can see people putting a fair amount of time in these modes.

I've only played TDM and have a whole loot of fun in it, TA sounds like so much fun after reading this though. Will try soon!

This game isn't breathtaking by any means, but it certainly warrants more than a 4.5 out of 10! I am having a lot of fun in the campaign mode. The story so far is pretty good. I will say that the promise hand squad mates are annoying constantly saying the same thing over and over. My guess is I am 75% done and I just don't see how this game scored so low and I haven't even played the multi-player. I will post my final thoughts when I finish.

Finished Haze today and it is by no means as bad all the reviews indicate. Some levels are really fun and I enjoyed 3/4 of the game.

I just rented this game and can't get online with it... it keeps telling me it can't connect to the playstation network or demonware - my ps3 is online and signed in plus all my other games work online. Hell, Haze just downloaded a patch right before it refuses to log in!

Anyone else have this problem ?

Well I bought this at Target today for $14 on clearance. Not sure if I got ripped off yet. Anyway, I played about 2 hours of multiplayer so far and it was fairly fun. There is some lag on servers, but I'm shocked at how many people are playing this game. There are probably 500 people online at the moment. Tons of multiplayer VS and tons of Co-Op matches going. About to start the campaign right now. Going to do it in Co-Op I think. Game isn't too bad!

Godspeed. I recommend not playing on anything above normal difficulty. There are some pretty broken encounters late in the campaign that'll bite you in the ass big time. It doesn't help that in many instances squad mates stop existing when you have to retry from a checkpoint.

Nice to hear I suppose. I got it for $10 from Best Buy a few months back, and I'd love to play some online coop at least.

Damn good to hear there's still a community I'll probably play in the next few days. I love the sniper rifle in this game.

I still need to finish the campaign on coop.

Are you guys still playing? I've finally decided to crack it open and I would like some coop partners.

Well I finished the single-player campaign over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I found the game very enjoyable. Some of the dialog was over the top but the main story/campaign was pretty good. I found myself interested when a cut-scene was presented or when it would show the main characters mask come up for him to speak. Also the transition from being a good guy to a bad guy was neat. The graphics are all over the place, some locations look great others look like an Xbox upgrade.

What is with the rap music? It will sporadically play throughout the game and during multi-player. I also can't recall hearing any Korn throughout the game, but I consider that a plus.

Multi-player has been fun, but laggy and I'm not sure how long I'll stick around because I have a ton of other games to play competitively.

If I had to throw a number on it, I would probably go with a 7.5-8. I find the hate for this game completely unnecessary. The demo for the game probably dug itself a grave, I felt like it was the worst part of the game.

The game is on clearance everywhere and currently on sale for $15 at gogamer.com. Worth it for that price.

I'm playing multi-player now, but would definitely be down for CO-OP if you want.

I'll be picking this up either today or tomorrow. I've sent friend invites to the last three people who listed their PSN names in the thread. We should play together later this week. I'm going to be writing about the experience of playing Haze so it'd be nice to have some co-op partners who aren't total wankers.
