HD-AV Cables Question...

Zep

I have a standard definition TV and I just noticed it has the Green,Blue,Red Cable inputs in the back. I was just using the regular yellow, white, red cables up to this point.

My question is will the difference be that much bigger by going to the GBR cables? And why does a standard tv have these cables? I always thought they were for HD only.

Yes, standard TVs have them (component inputs), they give a sharper, more defined picture, and yes it will be a significantly better picture for games. Just so I'm understanding right, there are 3 video and 2 audio inputs that you're talking about here?

Yes, the difference is BIG, *BIG*, even in SD resolution. Go for it, now !

Then definitely buy some component cables, I think they're 19.99 for PS2 and Xbox (first party cables), and the GC ones are hard to find and only work with older Gamecubes.

EDIT: And yeah, definitely the 360 will look a shitload better.

Damn! I just loaded up the PGR3 demo and the game looks 100x better. I never knew it could look so good like this...and I was actually content about how it looked before.

I bought my SDTV in 2000 and it has component inputs. Definitely use them. Component cables should be 75 ohms. Red, white, and yellow patch cables aren't 75 ohms characteristic.

EDIT:

Oops, late to the party I see. Glad to see, you went with component.
