Sort of ruined the game for me, haha.

Not exactly a "Wet behind the ears" situation, but I was pretty damn surprised when I went back to play Through Eternal Darkness and then saw this familiar name.

This is good, isn't it?

The fact I can't see LIQUID SNAKE in there is kind of irksome, that was another that blew me away, seeing Liquid Snake also being all those characters.

Michael Fassbender was the King in Fable 3.

Michael Keaton voiced Jason Hudson in COD Blops

Ron Perlman is Lord Hood in the Halo series

Elijah Wood is the voice of Spyro the Dragon in the original trilogy.

John DiMaggio voices Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War series.

Charles Dance plays an Emperor in the Witcher 3

Mathew Perry (Chandler Bing) is Benny in Fallout New Vegas.

I knew it was Ed Harris in Blops1 but I didn't know he was replaced with Keaton! Whaaaaaaat.

And Elijah Wood was Spyro?! This thread is killing me.

He's not the only famous actor. Susan Sarandon was Granny Rags, Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) was Callista Curnow, Brad Dourif (Lord of the Rings) was Piero, John Slattery (Mad Men) was Admiral Havelock, and Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass) was Emily. Carrie Fisher did a small role as well.

What the actual, what?

How come they didn't advertise this more?

You mean the Legend of Spyro trilogy? I thought the voice in the PS1 trilogy was Carlos Alazraqui or Tom Kenny (or both?)

But speaking of Legend of Spyro, they had David Spade play Sparx, followed by Billy West, followed by Wayne Brady

edit: Holy shit, Blair Underwood had a role in Dawn of the Dragon too, I forgot!

The fuck?

Oh, finding out Machinegun Joe in Bionic Commando was voiced by Steven Blum (Spike from Cowboy Bebop) was weird too.

Steve Blum is everywhere, but my favourite role is in Wonderful 101
as the Space Fortress Jerjinga
. He doesn't even bother not doing a the Spike voice.

This isn't a game, but he's also squeaky-voiced Guilemon in Digimon s3.

Kingdom Hearts had a lot of notable VAs

Haley Joel Osment - Sora
Hayden Panettiere (Heroes, Nashville) - Kiari
Billy Zane (Twin Peaks, Back To The Future) - Ansem
David Boeanaz (Angel, Bones) - Leon
Mandy Moore - Aerith
Dee Bradley Baker (Klous on American Dad) - Wakka
Sean Astin (Lord of The Rings, Goonies) - Hercules

Michael Madsen as Daud in Dishonored. Great choice for the role, especially in light of the excellent expansions.

wh3snry.png

Dishonored had a pretty decent cast. Lena Headey, Susan Sarandon, Chloë Grace Moretz. Character actors like John Slattery and Brad Dourif.

Some of it is pretty obscure; you don't even get to hear Carrie Fisher unless
you kill the male propaganda reader
.

Not quite what the thread starter is looking for but I had no idea that Freddie Prinze Jr was The Iron Bull in Dragon Age: Inquisition until I saw an interview with him talking about the game. When he was in Mass Effect 3 it was easy to tell that it was him but he sounds completely different in Dragon Age.

Melia in the western version of Xenoblade was played by Jenna Coleman, who's in Doctor Who. Maybe not that known among US folks, but it was pretty big news for me.

Came to post this. It's funny, I remember someone pointing out here on GAF when she was announced as the new companion "Oh she was Melia in Xenoblade!"

At the time I hadn't played it. Fast forward to about last year when I finally play Xenoblade, I'm like "Tee-hee it's Clara."

As I've said in recent Smash threads, if they ever put Melia in Smash as either AT or even more unlikely a playable character, I wonder if they'd even be able to get her.

Kanji (Persona 4)

Snow, FF 13(english obviously)

Troy Baker

Troy baker is fucking everywhere.

Didn't know this one! Persona 4's VAs were top notch, so I'm not surprised.

I'm guessing the spoiler tag was a joke, though.

Lance Bass From N'SYNC voiced Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts.

I don't recall his voice specifically though (it's been ages).

This one caught me off guard this year. Was playing Grim Fandango Remastered and ran into this cherub (lower left) with a scratchy voice.......

wait, is that...... Bobby Hill?

*googles* OMG, yes, yes, it is. Double bonus, both are played by Pamela Adlon, who is Louis CK's love interest on "Louie"

Source for this? Wikipedia credits him for the PS2 era games 2006-2008.

Tekken's Steve Fox = FF XII's Balthier = Vanquish's Sam Gideon = Terminator Salvation's John Connor = Rocksmith's Narrator = Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City's Carlos Oliveira = God of War III's Poseidon.
Gideon Emery
Appears in many series like CSI: NY, Castle, Shameless, Grimm, Daredevil (Anatoly).

Masked Lumen from Bayonetta is voiced by crispin freeman, who ironically also voices Baldur from Too Human and Alucard from Hellsing/Ultimate.

Augustus Marks from Sons of Anarchy is Dj Professor K

Nolan North playing these heroes in Dota 2:
Brewmaster
Earth Spirit
Gyrocopter
Keeper of the Light
Lone Druid
Lycan
Meepo
Ogre Magi
Shadow Demon
Troll Warlord

So the entire Heroes cast? :-P

no fuckin way.

Remember Jack from Mass Effect?

Same voice actress as Ada Wong in RE6, Damnation and ORC.

again, no fuckin way.

When I began watching Da Vinci's Demons, Blake Ritson who plays Riario in it has done a lot of VAs for a lot of well known games. I immediately recognised his voice from Dark Souls.

kDZDQAP.jpg

Dark Souls - Griggs of Vinheim
Dark Souls II - Royal Sorceror Navlaan (that serial killer/manic sorcerer dude)
The Order 1888 - Various voices
Dragon Age: Inquisition - Various voices
Xenoblade Chronicles - Alvis
Dragon Quest VIII - Angelo

I thought he did a great job, personally. Elegant menace.

Sephiroth has an entire minute of cut dialogue, mostly quoting FF7 stuff and HOLY SHIT IS IT BAD
It is seriously awful.

Speaking of Kingdom Hearts:
-Christopher Lee playing DiZ/Ansem
-Leonard Nimoy (RIP) playing Master Xehanort

Never in all my life did I think I'd hear Christopher Lee (Saruman, Count Dooku, Lord Summersisle, Dracula) in a crossover Disney Final Fantasy game. Seriously.
Also the guy still sings for metal albums past his 70s. It's insane.

Let's see... what else...
-Neptune, the scourge of some JRPG players, is also Ed from Cowboy Bebop.
-Amanda Miller, the voice of Sully and Cherche in FE:A is also Touko Fukawa and also the new Sailor Jupiter.
-Before she was a kid, Filia(Skullgirls) and Chiaki Nanami(DanganRonpa) were SquidGirl voiced by Christine Cabanos.

Kristin Bell as Lucy Stillman from Assassan's Creed. Didn't put two and two together until i started to watch the show Veronica Mars

I didn't realise Samuel L. Jackson voiced the police officer in San Andreas until I had completed it lol; thought he sounded familiar.

Male Hawke (Nicholas Boulton) was the announcer at Daznak's Pit on Game of Thrones this week. He can read me a list of fighters anytime, ifyaknowwhatImean.

Brad Dourif--voice of Chucky, worm tongue in Lord of the Rings, and bunch of other things--was the voice of the crazy preacher in GUN.

Well, you guys made me realize that Neil Napier (Peter Farragut in Helix) voiced Charles Lee in AC III (which I didn't know because AC games are voiced over here in Spain), so that's something, I guess? :P

There a few cool differences for some games in Spanish though. For instance, Batman is always voiced by the same guy, regardless of media and actor (so the voice actor for Batman is the same in all the dark knight trilogy, the arkham series, and the upcoming Batman vs Superman movie).

Same happens with Sam Fisher, he's still dubbed by the same guy despite the actor being different in English for Blacklist.

Playing Deadly Creatures on Wii, the two humans sounded really familiar. Was pretty stunned when google told me they were Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Hopper. The game feels pretty low budget, so it was really surprising to see such big names.
