Enemy Shaman top decks Deathwing when I have board control with 5 creatures, 20 life (he has 7 and no other cards on hand). I only have a Power of the wild and something to give taunt on my hand and my next 2 draws are a faerie dragon and amani berserker.

The biggest creature I was offered for this deck was a silver hand, not even joking. I don't think I had 1 naturalize offered to me either =/

Fucking Arena man. Fuck this game :P I'm going to go 0-3 most likely.

Edit: did I mention I killed a Stone Giant the turn before? Seriously, it felt like such bs.

Finally went 9 - 1. Got like, the luckiest deck ever of 3 knife jugglers, 2 of those murlocs that summon other murlocs, and imp master. Basically, every early game I won so hard there was no coming back.

EXCEPT THE GUY THAT GOT KING KRUSH AND RAGNAROS WHAT THE HECK. Got the 2 of the best legendaries in an arena deck. Good lord.

Christ, playing basic warlock in practice to grind to level 10 is aggravating as fuck, the basic deck is paper when up against rush decks which all the fucking AIs do.

Anyways, anyone else can't move their scroll bar when constructing a deck?

Well this escalated quickly

sm2uJ5m.jpg

I ended up losing two turn 8 and 9 pyroblasts.

Un-FUCKING-believable. I just ran up against an Archmage Antonidas in Arena. Jesus Christ, what the fucking fuck was that.

I got an Antonidas in arena yesterday.. and the Warrior I was facing didn't kill him that turn, so I proc'd Fireball with a Fireball with a Fireball. Obviously, he couldn't let that continue after seeing how that worked, but the damage was done! I actually have Antonidas in-game so I didn't feel bad about it. :D

Also, it looks like they fixed the bug that kept me at 2-star Gold for several weeks. I logged on and was 3-star. My days are numbered.

Finally get a legendary, and I get Millhouse Manastorm.....ugh

Yeah, that was my first legendary too. I've tried playing him a few times, but never once has he survived my opponent's turn. Losing your two-drop for zero mana is a huge loss in early-game tempo.

Do you guys think that the whole 3 deck tournament variant (like in the blizcon invitational) is gonna be a thing in the future? Like in the community and perhaps even officially supported in the game itself? In that case I think I'd go rogue-paladin-druid (or maybe mage or hunter).

If you like the format and haven't seen ihearthu.com's King of the Hill series, you might want to check them out:

My first legendary was grommash hellscream. I used him a little bit but I am not a huge fan of warrior so I ended up disenchanting him today to make a couple sorely needed rares for my rogue deck.

I am hoping rogue gets a little love in the upcoming patch, but mainly in the hero ability cause stacked up versus everything else it is pretty shit. Really is only "okay" early game and just sucks compared to everything else late game. I love rogue but the power is very meh.

I noticed I had anton in my book. So I decided to make a mage deck for kicks... holy cow I can't believe the direct damage the mage can do... screw minions, those are only fodder to keep attacks at bay, the real power is your spell cards!

He will haunt you in your dreams.

Best thing is freezing the enemy hero with a Water Elemental or something then tossing some powered up 1 mana Ice Lances at them for 6 or 7 each.

I'm finally watching the final round of the BlizzCon Hearthstone Invitationals. The commentary, especially by TB, is sooo bad. I'd rather t(he)y just shaddup and let me watch the game. Half the time it's TB going, "I don't think he's going to do A, it's not the best...oh, he did A, and I think that's the sensible move!"

Are they even giving out keys anymore? I signed up ages ages ago, ugh...

I'm so curious as to whether this stacks up favourably to MTG - it looks quite a bit shallower from what i'm seeing.

mmmm gadgetzan auctioneer is a blessing to my rogue deck, no regrets on shafting grommash hellscream for it (and 3 other cards). I was just about to be crushed by a warrior's last stand of 4 minions. I finally drew a spell (deadly poison), so I used auctioneer + deadly poison, drew another deadly poison, used that, drew a blade flurry... lol... attack for 5, blade flurry for another 5, cleared his 4 minions and brought him down to 2 hp, and I drew a SI agent... he forfeited before I could use it though.

Yup, definitely a lot more shallow than MTG, the removal of actions not on your turn hits the depth super hard, but still great for what it is.

I'm really hoping Hex will replace MTG for me, they've really messed up with making MTGO a compelling product.

The only reason why I'm so interested in Hearthstone is because it's shallow.
I don't have the time and patience to really get into MTG. Hearthstone seems like an "easy to learn, hard to master" kind of game, which is exactly what I'm looking for.

As someone who stopped playing Magic a few years ago and just started picking it up again, I think Hearthstone can really appeal to people who like the idea of deck building and basic card game mechanics but don't want to bother sifting through thousands of cards. The fact that everything is automated and your turn isn't interrupted by phases that involve your opponent makes the game a lot quicker and aggressive than your regular card game.

Already in the first few games of Magic since getting a new deck I've had to either make concessions or defer to my opponent in terms of rules, just because of certain ambiguous cards or effects. There's a small aspect of that in Hearthstone too, where something may not play out exactly as you imagined, but since it's automated, you know that will happen 100% of the time from now on.

Let's see how well I do with this uber gimmicky deck for arena, I wonder how high I can get a Gurubashi Beserker :P

Ideal conditions I think I can do 42 damage with it, hopefully I have a Frothing Berserker on the table for the added laugh. Got no charge though so let's hope people let it survive for more than 1 turn.

It is kind of the charm of Hearthstone really. I played MTG years ago but lost interest in part due to the constant influx of new cards and mechanics, it just got to be too much work to have fun with. Hearthstone, being a computer game, does most of the work regarding the rules for you, leaving only the actual playing up to you. And it makes the whole experience so much more fun IMHO.

On another note, I think I'm going to focus on playing the warlock. I need to get some of the really good class cards yet, but I'm enjoying the mechanics of warlock play a lot. It's a dangerous game playing the lock; sometimes you screw yourself over horribly, sometimes you end up with devastating wins after nearly killing yourself off. I'm just finding it fun, even when I lose spectacularly.

use and abuse your hero ability, completely disregard your own health, laugh at your opponent desperately struggling against the flood of imps and murlocs you throw at them then rage-quit when they manage to play a board sweeper

btw, I've created this helpful guide on how to win against warlocks:

Do you have a board sweeper and the required mana crystals?

YES ------> Such skill!
NO --------> Well played!

Over time I think I've actually found Warlock to be one of the more reliable classes in the game that don't carry much risk. They have a very safe mix of board clear with low cost cards that they can spam. It becomes very easy to weigh the value of cards that could potentially backfire, and most of the Warlock's cards tend to make up for any extra cost almost immediately. The ones that don't, like Doomguards, are easy enough to ignore.

Warlock is amazing, but at higher levels you really need Jax to make up for the amount of hit points you burn through. A solid Priest or Shaman deck will smash you in no time.

Have tried to get into mtgo since I've never had friends interested in playing the physical game. The client is such a mess and the cost is way too high for digital. I completely agree about the polish and ease of letting the client figure everything out for you. I backed hex for at the knight level. Really hoping that game takes off, I'll juggle between that and hearthstone. Really a shame how much wizards of the coast/hasboro are missing the boat moving to an online format. I can understand that they want to keep their core physical game and not disrupt that, but it feels like a poor decision.

It is your opponents fault you played right into their hand?

You make it sound like warlocks don't have any tricks other than spamming self damage tools before eventually being hit by like 1 of 10 different strong aoes. And really everyone in the game has to deal with board clearing so it is nothing special against warlocks.

I don't even have any blood imp cards yet, lol. Currently I'm using all demons except for two Lord of the Arenas and two troll taunt minions. I'm sure as I get more of the warlock cards my deck will get better.

I used to play the physical card game, still have all of my cards in the closet too. When MTGO came out I was so excited, until I actually tried it and found that it sucked. It was initially such a horrid program. It's better now, but they really needed to give it the finesse and polish that Hearthstone has, and they should have done it years ago. Very huge missed opportunity that they didn't.

Hearthstone is so well done and so fun that I doubt I'll ever look at MTGO again.
